And so we thought we had done it, another case solved. Upon leaving the room, norton embraced me, burying his head into my shoulder, the closest he had ever shown to sensitivity. He beckoned me, throwing a rough hand in my direction, and so we went off into the night to drink our celebrations to completion.

"An officer will have to interview the other suspects now, just in case", he said, matter of fact.

"That shouldn't take too long, you were quite the animal in there.", I replied, chuckling to myself.

"Yes I suppose i am motivated by my hatred for the upper classes. I hate the liars of the world, the sickening wretches who think they are above the law, that they are right to take things into their own hands for little more than personal gain. No one is above the law. No man is above the society they live in, no presidential life is worth more than that of the people they serve. Power corrupts all men, they turn from the masses to the elite because they desire their position above all else. Their power has power over them and that is their downfall. Just as Letterman felt power over Sutton, the leaders feel power over the people. Preachers are just as sinful as their congregation, sometimes more so, and yet they act righteous men of God when in fact, no one can ever reach such standards."

"And yet, we still try"

"Yes my dear Rachel, for if we didn't they would be successful, and I am not referring to capital gain here."

"Indeed Christopher, we are the Lord's last stand against the devils of this world, and yet, we ourselves resort to demonic tactics to do their divine bidding. Does that make us just a bad as them?"

"No one can meet their own standards"

"Morality must be the precedent to chaos, in the search of moral dignity we lose all concept of right and wrong. We are a flawed species, perhaps irrevocably so."

"Nothing is irrevocable, with enough force, with enough good will, anything is possible.

"Let's hope so, or else we are doomed to let this case beat us".

"We may have to occupy a devil's office, if even for a short while, to pursue our cause."

"That is what scares me more than anything Rachel, I know the parameters of our suspects, but I know not the power of my own soul, how far am I willing to go in the name of justice?"
