Nike 3:00 Am.

I push up on the lid that is the coffin like box that is my bed and slip my feet into my boots so I can start getting ready before morning cleaning duty starts. I than light the small lantern so I can start neatly coming coming out my long dark pink hair for the Dutch braids to match Mistress Nicolette's and than put a bow on the end of the two braids before I put on my maid uniform.

Mistress Nicolette told me when I first started working for Shadows house that all living dolls must take pride in their appearances because since I'm her identity.

Before the Debut.

"Good morning Miss Nicolette!, I'm happy to be serving you as your face", I said in a bright cheerful tone finally able to meet the girl who's face I would be serving as and it was best to show respect to miss Nicolette since I was her face.

"Don't take this the wrong the way but Nicolette abhors the sight of those sloppy looking Dutch braids they need to be fixed right away and be need to be made more neater if Nicolette and you are going to pass the debut. Nicolette needs her face to understand it's extremely important as member of the Shadows Household appearances are very important when serving as a face to a member because you are Nicolette's cherished identity".  She said this all while looking down and stuttering and black smoke was coming off her.

Nicolette gasped before saying, " that's right Nicolette needs to give her living doll a name!! Your name is Nike, Nike is a Roman goddess of Victory".

"Thank you Mistress Nicolette for such a wonderful", I said as she fixed my braids.

End of Flashback.

I push open the door that connects Miss Nicolette's room, curious to see if she is ok since Miss Nicolette tends to be prone to nightmares and I was right to check on her.

Nicolette is mumbling something I can't understand so I head over to her bed and grab hand to comfort her", Nicolette there's no be scared I'm right here", I whisper dropping the formalities since we are alone.

"Nike.. thanks for checking on Nicolette she appreciates it", miss Nicolette says her tone still slightly shaken up from her nightmares.

I climb up on Nicolette's bed to give her a quick close hug and kiss on the cheek before I leave for cleaning duty", I will be back later miss Nicolette to clean your room I hope you sleep well" I whisper to her" as I climb gently off the bed and leave her room and exit out of my own room for cleaning duty.

I hear Mia's annoying fake cheerful voice and behind me as I'm walking down the manor hallway, she's leading a new short long blonde hair girl. I couldn't stand Mia because even though she acted nice she really wasn't Mia actually had a really forceful and dominant personality that didn't allow room for conservation. Everyone in Shadows house was brainwashed with the soot coffee so no one could tell that bullying was going on they all went along with their Master's or Mistress's orders without no questions and Mia was no different. Nicolette once told me living dolls like Mia influenced how Shadows acted which explained why Sara was so rude.

I put on a fake smile careful not to let my real emotions show.

"Hi Mia!, who's the New doll ?, it's exciting not knowing when new dolls will arrive the great house", I say in a bright and cheerful tone.

"Hi Nike, this Emilico our new Teammate", Mia says explaining to me.

"Hi I'm Nike I just had my debut. Mia is really smart, Lou the redhead is really quiet and is really observant, Rosemary our leader is super nice I say pointing to the peculiar tall brunette girl.

"I'm not really of much use and try to learn from the older girls", I say pretending to play dumb knowing it's best according to the rules to always show respect to our older members of the children's wing because they could possibly report us to an adult in the other wing and we could get disposed of Miss Nicolette told I was to never stand out and to always be an observer.

After we got done cleaning I went back to Miss Nicolette's room to find her awake on her bed and she is already dressed wearing a dark pink skirt , a white blouse, dark pink Mary Jane flats. Her hair is not yet styled so is waiting for me to do it.

"Hi Miss Nicolette I just got from cleaning duty and I'm all cleaned up so I can braid your hair your for you", I say in a cheerful tone.

"Nicolette is glad to see you are back Nike, she appreciates that you checked to make sure she wasn't having any nightmares this morning before you off to cleaning duty", Nicolette says nervously stuttering as small amount of black soot is coming off her and I start beginning the process of doing her two long Dutch braids to match mine and put white lily clips on the ends on each of her braids.

"It's not a problem at all Miss Nicolette here look in the mirror at your beautiful braids turned out", I said giggling hoping to distract her. Nicolette looked in the mirror at her shadowed reflection and nodded a small smile turning up the corners of her mouth.

"Thanks Nike. Nicolette is extremely grateful to have you around.
