After the meeting with Finnick, the avox that had served them coffee showed her to the room that was meant for her. It was clearly a District Four room. The curtains were white with elegant green stitching, the bed was under the window and gave a perfect view of the sky. The blanket was sea foam green and had the seal of District for in the center, and then above it was the Capitol seal. The bedside lamp had pearls bordering the lamp shades hems while seashells were decorating the outside of it.

There was a closet too, all with custom designed clothes that had been put there for the tribute. She looked through everything, it was all completely new to her. She had never had completely new clothes or shoes. Then attached to the room, was a bathroom that had various different decorations to make it seem like a bathroom in District Four.

Quinn had decided to take advantage of the privacy that the room gave her. She took a towel out of a drawer and set it on the counter of the sink before she stripped out of her clothes and stepped into the shower. She couldn't remember the last time she had taken a good quality hot shower, but the feeling of the hot water reminded her of the hot baths she took every other day when she was little. But she had never gotten to use the bright pink soap and shampoo that smelt like flowers.

For awhile it was nice and relaxing. Until she ruined it for herself by remembering that she was on the train to go to the Capitol to be a part of the Hunger Games. That was the sickest part about the games--they pampered the tributes. They seemed to try to make them feel important, valuable...but they weren't valuable. They could easily be replaced the next year. They weren't important unless they won the games.

She didn't understand how people could just think people, children could be so disposable. It even happened right in her District, people tried to act like the orphans like her didn't exist. Just like the tributes in the games. Once they died, the only people who cared were family and friends. Any sponsor who claimed to care didn't, they just moved on to another tribute.

Quinn pushed those thoughts out of her head and stepped out of the shower. She had to try and enjoy some of the luxurious things around her. Some of the things that the Capitol did for the tributes was nice, and worth enjoying.

Quinn wrapped herself with the towel and quickly went out and found a pair of jeans and a blue t-shirt and everything else she would need before going straight back into the bathroom. She looked into the mirror after she had pulled on the new clothes. Her hair was long, dark brown and was far over due for a cut. Her skin was tan from spending so much time in the sun, and her eyes were such a dark shade of brown that they looked black.

She had her fathers eyes and hair, but the people who had known her parents said she was just like her mother. Pig headed--she was stubborn and never really took strict orders easily. She knew that her stubbornness was going to be a problem, especially with the advice Finnick had already given her. She was supposed to just act like she couldn't do anything, like she was weak--which physically she was, but she had no trouble thinking about things. She had survived with minimal encounters with peacekeepers after all.

Once she was done changing and had brushed her hair, she made her way out of the room again and to the dinning car. On the way there, a peacekeeper stepped aside to let her pass. She took a glance at him and couldn't help but think he looked extremely familiar. He had dark brown hair, a bit lighter than her own, a thinner face shape, and his eyes were light brown. He gave her a small nod as she passed, and she watched over her shoulder as he slid open a door and stepped into a room. She knew that she wasn't just seeing things, she wasn't just imagining that she recognized him. She knew him. It was his eyes. There had only been two people who had brown eyes like that...she remembered them as kind and welcoming. But the peacekeepers' eyes looked hard and emotionless, almost like any positive emotion had been sucked out of them.

"Just in time," Finnick smirked from the table as she pulled open the door. Beside him was an empty seat, across from him sat Mags and Arkon. Then at the head of the table sat their escort, Remilda. "We were just about to begin eating."

In the middle of the table was assortments of food. There was loaves of bread, muffins, chicken, stuffing, vegetables, and so much more. Quinn hadn't seen so much food all in one place ever in her life. She took her seat next to Finnick and didn't hesitate to begin filling her plate with food as the others did the same.

"This is just great," Remilda chimed in. A smile on her face, "Our first meal together! Our first time sitting together as a team!" she smiled wider as she took a sip of some sort of blue drink in a crystal cup. "Finnick and Mags, we've been a team...three times since you won Finnick! We're like a little family now, the three of us!" she said happily, Mags gave her a smile and nod, Finnick gave a charming nod before he took a bite of food. "I do hope that one of you will be here next year, I'm sure Mags wouldn't mind a year off." she said and her smile became a bit smaller.

Quinn stopped chewing the mouth full of food for a moment, and then quickly finished. She felt her appetite disappear at the thought of what Remilda had said.

I do hope that one of you will be here next year, the statement was so brutal and honest. People like Remilda, they didn't understand how big of a deal it was that either one or both tributes would die. They had been raised around the games, they had been taught to love them. As long as there was one Victor it was all perfect, and if it happened to be a tribute they escorted, then that made it even better.

"So do you two know each other at all?" Finnick asked after a moment of the silence that had settled around the five of them. Quinn looked up at Arkon, and he looked at her too. She had seen him around, but she hadn't ever paid much attention to him. "I'll take that as a no." he sighed, "But it would be good to get to know each other a bit. The Capitol people don't like it when tributes have no relationship at all." he explained

Mags nodded in agreement and held up a hand with her index and middle finger crossed. "The best ally to have is the one from your own district." Finnick translated.

Suddenly the television behind them roared to life, the theme song for Caesar Flickerman began to play as the Capitol seal faded and Caesar Flickerman appeared on the screen. He wore white pants, a bright red shirt tucked into his pants, a white jacket, and his hair and lips were bright red. The stage he stood on was brightly lit with different colored lights. and in bright lights, behind him it read THE 73RD ANNUAL HUNGER GAMES.

His laugh erupted as the crowd cheered and he clapped his hands together. "Happy, happy Hunger Games to you all!" he smiled and everyone in the dinning car turned their attention to the screen, preparing to see the recaps. "Today was definitely a very memorable Reaping, wasn't it? Tonight we have a very exciting lineup, after meeting our lovely tributes for the seventy-third annual Hunger Games, we have Head Gamemaker, Seneca Crane and the President of Panem himself--it's going to be very exciting indeed!" he grinned and clapped his hands together and then dramatically smiled again. "Let's get started then!"

As the recaps went on, Quinn paid not much attention to the first two districts. She had watched those live, and there had been nothing special about them. However, there was something strange about Three. The girl who was chosen was about eighteen, her name was Blaize. She had light brown hair, and was very thin and pale. But the boy volunteered. A young boy had been chosen, but the older boy quickly took his place. But the strange part was when the cameras cut off. The boy volunteered, and the screen went completely black and then turned back on with the two of them on stage.

District Four was just like how she remembered, she barely looked at the screen though. She didn't want to see herself there. District Five was a brother and sister, and Finnick made a remark about it...

"They aren't a threat..." he had said nonchalantly. "Neither of them will want to win without the other."

"It's a shame," Remilda had added, "Those parents must be horrified!"

Quinn had to bite her bottom lip from snapping back at her. She felt bad for those parents? Because they were losing two kids? What about the parents who lost one or their only child for the sake of the Capitols entertainment?

District Six, Seven, and Eight were dull. But the girl from Six had short black hair, her skin was fair, and her eyes were piercing blue. She looked like she was ready for the games even though she wasn't a Career. Her name was Scout.

Nine and Ten were pretty average, but they looked like big threats. Especially District Ten. The boy was twice the size of Quinn, broad shouldered, and he seemed like he could be a good ally for One. Then Eleven had a boy about as tall as the boy from Ten and about the same size, only his skin was much darker. Then finally, District Twelve was average for their District. They were never much of a threat...

But then again, anyone could be a threat to Quinn.
