Chelsey woke up slowly. Her whole body hurt, and her head was pounding like the one and only time she got drunk. Warm fur was pressed against both sides of her body. She was back in her human form, but it felt different. She looked at her hand and inhaled sharply. Ryan's Raver whined in her ear, and she realized he was spooning her, and she was laying against Corey's back. The air in the room was cold enough her breath became a cloud.

"W-why is it s-so c-cold?" teeth chattering, she rolled over slightly to face Ryan then gasped, "Oh goddess, Ryan... your eyes."

His corneas were solid white. He whimpered and licked her cheek. Corey rolled over and sat in the crouching position Ravers often used. Chelsey trembled as she put her hand on Corey's cheek.

"Corey, are you blind too?"

His giant tan and white wolf-head nodded in response.

"That fuker, I'll kill him."

"I see you're awake, Ms. Thompson." The voice came through the speaker, but Chelsey surged to her feet, staggered to the wall she knew held the mirror and pounded on it.

"You bastard! You blinded them!"

The wall suddenly dropped downward. Assessing her reflection, Chelsey could see she had been restrained. Bruises were healing on her arms and lower legs, but she had not been marked or otherwise harmed. She had escaped Shalom's fate. Her eyes were slightly clouded but they were clearing up quickly as she healed.

"How is it that your mates refused copulate with you while under the influence of repeated doses of the Dust of Rage?" Liam's voice held a smug tone that made her want to attack him. "I mean your Raver was more than willing and even tried attacking your mates for refusing you. Why would they refuse you?"

Chelsey was confused by what he was say then she realized he bizarrely thought that both Ryan and Corey were her mates. "Luna Shalom forbid us from mating until I turn eighteen."

He hummed then revealed, "They just held you down instead of screwing you to death and eating you until I put three more in with you. So I'll ask you again why are your mates different from other Ravers?"

"Why would you put more in with us after you drugged us?"

"I wanted to see if you would mate with them since yours refused. You were behaving like a cat, or rather, a biyatch in heat before you and they killed the others, then you passed out." The mirror vanished and she could see the Blessed Dark Fae, so she bared her teeth at him, clenching them to keep them from chattering. Ryan and Corey stood as their Ravers over her shoulders, mimicking her aggression, teeth bared and growling.

"Come through the glass, Liam, and I'll show you how big of a biyatch I can be."

"Do you wish to die today, Miss Thompson?" Liam tipped his chin arrogantly.

"You're going to kill us anyway, but I don't think it will be today. You're playing some sick game, but I promise you, my two Ravers and my war-waging form can bring down your Demonus. If you had been at Monarch Mountain with the rest of your clan, you would know that." She glared at him resolutely.

She saw his confidence flicker for a moment, so she reached up and back, putting a hand around each of the Ravers' necks and pulling them toward her. "What's the matter, Fae? Afraid of one little girl and her big bad wolves."

The wall slid back up as the reflective surface reappeared.

"That's what I thought!" Chelsey shouted as Ryan howled. Corey looked at her obviously confused.

She turned and pulled their heads close to her face then whispered, "That weirdo thinks your both my mates like some bad ebook. He's going to continue to screw with us. We need to try to get your wolves back. We have to escape or die trying because I don't want to die in any way that Fae has planned."

Ryan growled protectively as Corey nodded.

"I'm shifting to my wolf, its freaking freezing in here." She ached as she shifted but she was warmer. Her wolf stood guard as Ryan and Corey worked hard to get back to their wolves. Only Ryan could make it all the way back to his skin for a few minutes, but he couldn't hold it. Chelsey yipped encouragement and licked his face. They went to sleep as a pile of wolves to keep warm and waited for the Dark Fae's next experiment.

Watching them on the monitor, Liam shook his head then went through a traveling mirror to meet Aliza. So far the surviving Monarch Mountain Ravers had done everything opposite of what he expected. Aliza was putting on a tight club dress with metallic heels. Her hair was pulled up in a high ponytail. She was beautiful for a human and Liam was tempted but he knew better than to touch anything claimed by Gerard.

"Your car is ready," he announced.

"How did the testing go?" she asked.

"The residue recovered from the site listed in the Revelation Night Research group data turned them all into Ravers again but... they aren't staying that way," he lied about where he got the Dust of Rage from. He could feel Gerard watching them.

"What is it?" She asked as she brushed mascara on her eyelashes. "What did the mass spectrometer say it was made of?"

He snorted derisively as he revealed honestly, "It's syrup."

Aliza paused and looked at him in the mirror, "What?"

"It has almost the exact composition of maple syrup with Dead Sea Salt mixed with it. Don't look at me like that, I wish I was kidding. I think they are just screwing with us but it worked on the wolves. I can't explain it." Liam tried to sound as grumpy as he could, but in her aura he could see she was confused. The internet had been restored to the hanger in Colorado and she had watched the doctors there working very hard to figure out the Project Elm Street chemical weapon. Suddenly, her aura turned from confused to scheming and hateful.

"So the wolves and vampire males have a psychotic allergic reactions to this mystery syrup?" Aliza twisted her mascara shut and tapped it on the table, murmuring to herself, "Hmmm, I wonder what it would taste like as a food additive?" She picked up her clutch and walked past him.

As he held the car door for her, Liam realized that her aura and Gerard's aura were the same shade, the color of hatred.

An hour later, Liam stood by the car door as Aliza got out, she murmured to him, "Come back at 1AM." As she went inside, she waved at the cameras and hugged a few people she hated before going into the party. Resisting the urge to shake his head, he parked the car.

As Aliza walked around the party, it was the usual D.C. crowd of the entitled adult children of the political elite. She hated fawning over them and getting fawned over in return but it was the necessary evil in a world where only a few were still fully human.

"Your mother's lover wasn't human," a female whispered in her ear.

Aliza turned slowly to face the Fae. "Aren't you Galen's stripper? You wouldn't dare attack me the way Galen attacked Gerard."

Bianca lifted a glass of champagne off a tray that passed. "Galen didn't attack Gerard. He simply let Gerard strike him instead of letting Gerard kill another and received what was his back."

The room became strangely still around them as Aliza snapped haughtily, "You can't lie to me cursed one. I've seen Gerard's wings."

"I am no longer cursed, and neither is Galen. Gerard is finally carrying what his own soul has sown... We know what you are doing Aliza but do you? Do you really know what the Dust of Rage is and why the ancient Fae burned the forest of Ireland to destroy the Samhain Elms?" Bianca set the glass on the frozen waiter's tray. "Tell Gerard Galen says he will not let him win, we won't let him kill them... You've been deceived, Aliza. Surrender your hate of the Nons, because if you surrender to it, he will kill you."

Aliza stared in shock as Bianca walked through a mirror as she had seen Gerard and Liam do. The surface rippled like water then she was staring at her own reflection.

"Aliza, darling, did you hear me? Were you even listening?"

"No." Aliza glared at the senator's daughter resisting the urge to go on a tirade about the woman's polluted blood, and stomped away, ignoring everyone as she went outside. Liam had been parked less than twenty minutes when Aliza opened the car unannounced.

"Check the facilities. Galen and his allies are trying to stop our research," Aliza snarled.

"Where are you going?" Liam demanded.

"To the airport. I am going to Cades Depot to find out just how much those mutant dogs know. Now, go!" Aliza got in the car as he got our and sped away while Liam faded into shadows and went to the closest travelling mirror.

Quinn Shalom...

Everyone except Galen tried to talk me out of going on the raid as Saul drove us to Cades Depot. When we stopped at a restaurant for dinner, Galen went into the bathroom and came out with Nicolea. Having seen him step from a mirror, I wasn't surprised. Nicolea followed me to the bathroom after dinner, when I went to feed and change Justice.

"Shalom, are you ready for this?"

I eyed her as Justice nursed. "You're not going to try to talk me out of it?"

Sighing, she shook her head. "I'm a Fae and a survivor, I understand about your need to do this... So does Galen. Jake, Richard, and Saul all care about you and want to protect you, but they don't understand that you need to do this as part of your recovery. It's the first step to claiming your life back."

Her words made my chin tremble because after seeing into my past trauma, she had shared hers with me. "Thank you, Nicolea."

"I promise to keep Justice safe."

"I believe you." I needed to say it, because my wolf was unhappy about leaving her pup with anyone who wasn't Jake, Richard, or Saul.

There was a discreet tap on the door and Nicolea glanced at it then scowled. "Your mate and Beta are hovering."

"One of them always is, or the Alpha." My tone was so flat, she started giggling as she took Justice. Walking out, the males were all waiting. Beyond the windows I could see it was dark. As we got in the SUV, I closed my eyes and prayed I wasn't being a fool.

Driving past the facility, Galen directed Saul where to turn. It didn't look like much, almost abandoned beyond the empty parking lot, then we turned and went around the south side. There was a larger facility that belonged to another company. Looking at the google earth map, I couldn't shake the feeling we were in the wrong place.

Saul started to park but Richard tapped his arm, "Go back."

Jake nodded in agreement.

"What is it?" Saul asked.

"We can feel the other Ravers from our pack," Jake announced, "And they aren't in either of those facilities." He opened the door and got out before stripping. "They are in the one across and down, with the chainlink fence."

I started to get out. "I'm going with you."

"Shalom, please." He held his and to me and I wanted to bite it.

"Don't." My eyes held his with hard intent and it was a battle of wills my wolf refused to back down from because I knew Chelsey was with the others. I could feel his fear for me and his pride in my courage.

Finally, he gave me a curt nod. "Saul, Nicolea, keep Justice safe. We'll find where they are and come back."

Putting my clothes on the seat too, I wrapped my scarlet cloak around my neck and clasped it. "If you shift into your wolves, I can cover two of you."

"I'll go," Will insisted.

"No, Will." Jake looked at his brother but before the younger wolf could protest, Jake reminded, "This is what I spent decades training others to do after the war. Richard and I can keep Shalom safe." Then he dropped into his gray and white wolf.

Richard raised an eyebrow to me as a momentary shudder of fear ran through me then Jake's wolf licked my hand. "I'm okay," I assured them.

No one believed me, least of all me, but I spread the enchanted cloak over the three of us then shifted to my wolf. Will put a pouch around my neck with Dr. Strawford's and Kenneth's key cards, and a 100-terrabyte drive in it. Trotting through the woods with a giant red wolf on one side and a giant gray one on the other, my wolf felt protected as we went in the direction of the facility. By passing the two manufacturing facilities, our wolves went to the plastic plant across the highway. There was a shed hidden in the trees, away from everything. Appearing as a wisp of mists in the flickering security light, Galen waved his hand and the fence split for a few moments. We snuck in without any alarms. I shifted back to my human and slipped out one of the cards. It took a tense moment, but the door clicked unlocked and we went in. We had a choice; elevator or stairs.

Jake nudged me toward the stairs, and we started down into the unknown. Three flights of stairs later, I peeked out the small window in the door at a plain white hall lined with gray doors. Jake and Richard both shifted back to their skins and looked down the hall.

"Monarch, Alpha, may I suggest you take one of the cards and free the Ravers on this floor. Shalom and I will take the one below," Galen said tensely.

"There's a Demonus here, isn't there?" Richard growled quietly through his beard.

"Yes, and we need to make haste," he insisted as I handed over Dr. Strawford's card.

"What about keeping them covered with my cloak?" I whispered.

"You need it more than they do." Galen practically dragged me down the stairs away from them. He stopped on the next landing. "I'll get the ones one this floor. Go down to the bottom floor and get the information. Keep your cloak on and your hood up."

Nodding, I swiped the door lock with Kenneth's card to let him in. "What about the cell locks?"

"There is only one occupied cell on this floor, I can get it open. Go. Hurry, I don't know where the Demonus is. Be careful, he's a blessed one like Gerard was."

Running down the stairs, I looked in the door. The hall was dark except for the light from the stairwell. I could see a glass room filled with computers at the end third of the hall. I opened the door as I clutched my cloak around me. The hall felt colder, and my wolf did not want to go down it as I crept down it as quickly as I could. Going into the computer room. I swiped the card in the computer terminal, then typed in Kenneth's access code. I began downloading every file that showed activity since the Revelation Night onto a 100-terabyte drive. I noticed a file that wasn't in Kenneth's copies. I opened it and looked at the list. It was all of Aliza Abbot's private homes and secret labs. I printed it. Suddenly, I could feel Jake fighting and turned on the security feed. On the camera, I watched a Demonus throw him across the hall as Richard and another Raver attacked it. It was Donavon. The dark creature that resembled Mr. Black, retreated, and sank into the floor. My wolf howled a warning that it was coming. I grabbed the printout and stood over the computer urging it to work faster.

"Come on... come on."

Three wolves lifted their heads at the same time as the door opened. Chelsey shifted to her skin as the males became their Ravers.

"Galen?" She hesitated; fearful it was a Dark Fae trick.

"Hurry, Chelsey."

She held Ryan and Corey back. "What was I drinking when you sent me to the Q.Z.?"

Galen gave her a deadpan look then answered, "A frappe, salted caramel and vanilla, and you were texting with a dead girl who turned out to be a guy that wanted to kidnap you and your friend for a Vampire sex trafficking ring."

She jumped forward and hugged him. "I knew Shalom would send someone for us."

"Hurry, we have to escape up the stairs. The Monarch is upstairs with the Alpha fighting the Demonus." He looked at her in shock. "What did he do to you?" Galen pushed her toward the stairwell door.

"He tried to turn me into a Raver, but it didn't work. He blinded Ryan and Corey by exposing them over and over. He's crazy!" She revealed angrily, following him to the stairs. From the floor above, it sounded like a battle was going on.

"Run, he's coming," Galen warned then he slammed the door behind them as she shifted to her wolf.

The two Ravers also became their wolves and rushed up the stairs after her. Jake, Richard, and Donavon rushed past them.

Galen called to them, "I'll get them out. Save Shalom. She's on the bottom floor."
