Next day

Finally, all the paperwork regarding the deal had been done and today was the day when Swara was going to take Sanskar on a day-out-cum-date. Sanskar and Swara, both were excited to the power of infinity. Well for Sanskar, he was all giddy thinking where Swara was going to take him and for Swara, she was all nervous thinking if she will be able to carry out the things as planned. But at the end, they were looking forward to the day they were going to spend together.

After a couple of hours

It was time for them to leave the hotel for their day-out-cum-date. Sanskar was all dressed in his glory and was waiting in the lobby for Swara and when she moved out from the lift, he was spellbound. She was decked up in a wine red frock, a one with cold shoulders. It hugged her body till her waist and from the waist, it flew till a few inches below her knees. She completed her look with red danglers and black heels while her hairs were left loose with slight curls at the end. Sanskar was literally swooning. Well, it wasn't easy for Swara as well. Seeing Sanskar in a black t-shirt, grey trousers and a grey tuxedo, with his hairs gelled up was worth watching. But she had composed herself. She was blushing under his gaze but she moved towards him, tiptoed till his ears and whispered...

Swara: I guess that I'll have to go alone on the date, because the way you are looking at me right now, it seems that you'll faint any moment...

And she giggled loudly and moved out of the lobby. When she reached the entrance, she suddenly turned back, went towards Sanskar, tiptoed again and whispered again after pecking his right cheek

Swara: (with fake innocence) I really don't wanna go alone, Sansku... So as soon as you stop blushing, come outside. I'm waiting in the car.

And she ran outside. All this while, Sanskar was dumbstruck and was blushing like anything (so cute, isn't it?? We don't get to see the Sanskar Maheshwari blushing so often)... And as soon as the realisation hit him and understood what she said, he started running and the people around could see him chasing Swara and shouting...

Sanskar: (shouting) Shona, save yourself... I am gonna kill you for that. Was it that necessary to embarrass me in front of everyone?? Huh...

Swara: Okay, okay... Stop bickering and sit down. I'm gonna be your ride today, so feel special. You don't get to see Swara Bose driving for you every day...

Sanskar: (making faces) Yeah, it's an offer available only for today... Isn't it??

Swara: (smiling cheekily) Yep...
(suddenly serious) Waise Sansku...

Sensing the seriousness in her voice, he looked towards her and said...

Sanskar: Hmm... Bolo... (say)

Swara: You know what?? You were looking really cute while blushing...

And she started laughing hysterically and all he could do was to give her an "I will kill you" look.

An hour later
11:00 am

Their first destination was the Statue of Liberty... Well, the plan was like she will give a tour of New York City to Sanskar as he had always been fascinated by this city, the city that was the hub of anything and everything.

The Statue of Liberty

A stirring symbol of freedom, the Statue of Liberty has been a beacon in New York Harbor since 1886. A gift from the people of France, the Statue was designed by Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi and built by Gustave Eiffel.
Swara and Sanskar had a lot of fun there, clicking selfies and then touring around the Liberty Island, the Island on which Statue of Liberty is situated. The view of the city from the water was heavenly. Who knew that this gift from France would become such a major tourist spot that people would come from around the world to see it??

Leaving the Liberty Island, they came to the Times Square. It was 3 pm by then. Located in Midtown Manhattan at the intersection of Broadway and Seventh Avenue, Times Square has often been referred to as The Crossroads of the World. Full of bright lights and billboards, it also serves as the hub of the Theater District.

You come to Times Square and then don't taste the local cuisine or don't do the shopping, then it's useless going there... So without a second thought, Swara dragged Sanskar towards a restaurant... It was indeed grand and one would practically faint with the grandness of the restaurant.

While eating, Sanskar suddenly asked...

Sanskar: So finally, we had a day-out and we had lunch also... Are we going home now??

Swara: (squinting her eyebrows) What did I say?? I said that I will take you on a day-out-cum-date and the day isn't over...and so this is not over yet...

Sanskar: (raising his hands in surrender) Okay! Okay! I got it...

Swara: (fake angry) Wait for a second... You wanna go back... That means you are bored...

Sanskar: (innocently) Arre, I didn't mean that... Main toh bas pooch raha tha Yaar... Tum toh bura maan gayi... (I was just asking... You got annoyed...)

Swara: Haan Haan... Mujhe pata hai.... (I know)... You are very innocent, isn't it?? (imitating him by making faces) Main toh bas pooch raha tha...

Sanskar: (sighing) Achcha okay... Fine... I'm sorry...

Swara: Fine... I'll forgive you... But I've got a condition... You'll have to spend your bucks when we shop... Deal or no deal??

Sanskar: (shocked) We have to go shopping also?? Please, noooo...

Swara: What do you mean by this?? We are in Times Square... If not a movie, at least we'll shop... Only a mad will come here and not shop...

Sanskar: Okay, okay... Fine... You do whatever you want to... (murmuring) Iski shopping ke chakkar mein day-out choupat ho gaya... Oh God... (the day-out has been spoiled because of her shopping)

Swara: What did you say??

Sanskar: Nahi... Kuch nahi... (nothing)

Finally, after they were done with their lunch, they roamed on the streets of the Times Square, shopping for various accessories for Uttara and Sharmishtha...

Sanskar: Ho gaya tumhara or is something still left??

Swara: It's almost done. You go... I am coming in a minute...

Sanskar: What do you mean by you go... You are coming with me and it's final...

Swara: (jokingly) Kyo?? Are you afraid that you'll get lost in this city??

Sanskar: Oyye... I am afraid for you... What if someone kidnaps you??

Swara: Stop it, Sansku and chalo... I am coming in a minute.

Sanakar: (smiling) Okay... I am waiting outside...

An hour later
At around 6

They were standing on the Brooklyn Bridge. Suspended over the East River, the Brooklyn Bridge connects Manhattan to Brooklyn. Designated a national historic landmark in 1964, this engineering feat is one of America’s most famous bridges and one of New Yorks greatest attractions and in no way was Swara going to miss seeing this...

Swara: (looking towards Sanskar) So Sansku, how is it??

Sanskar: (awestruck) It... It's so beautiful... I never thought that Brooklyn Bridge could be this awesome... The beauty of this is much more than what I had imagined by seeing its pictures...

Swara: Well, it's not the end... There is something more to its beauty...

Sanskar: (looking towards Swara) Something more?? What's it??

Swara: Look there... (pointing towards the west direction)

And all that they could see was the beautiful sunset... The colour of the sky changing from blue to yellow-orange with a tinge of purple and finally to black was so serene... As if the whole city was consumed in a calm darkness... The sunset amidst the tall skyscrapers was worth watching... And suddenly all the darkness vanished by millions of twinkling lights that lit in all the houses and buildings and on the Brooklyn Bridge. It was the time when the Big Apple was the most active. It is not called the city that never sleeps for no reason.
And suddenly Swara tapped on his shoulders and made him look in another direction... And there was the Manhattan skyline, shining with all the colours that one could ever see in a single frame together. The colours of the skyline and the lights shining on the tips of the skyscrapers being reflected on the waters of the East River was so damn beautiful that one would actually wish to stare at it as long as possible...

Swara: So, Mr Maheshwari... How's it?? Isn't it spell-bounding??

To say that Sanskar was awestruck will be pretty less... He was gobsmacked and flabbergasted... Ah!! Wish he could capture this moment...

Sanskar: Spell-bounding?? It's much more than that... It can't be expressed in words... (looking towards Swara) Thank you so much, Shona... I'm glad that I am here to witness this scene...

Swara: Well, the day isn't over... We have 2 more plans for today... And trust me, they will be better than what you have imagined... Not that I am bragging, though... But you'll love them...

Sanskar: Then what are we waiting for?? Chalo...

Swara: (smiling) Chalo...

An hour and a half later

The next destination they reached was the Central Park. Thought of as the city’s playground, Central Park covers 843 acres (341 hectares) and is located in the heart of Manhattan. And as you reach the heart of it, all that you can see is trees and the tall buildings peeking from behind those...

Swara: So, Sansku... Ready for the next...

Sanskar was so lost in the beauty of the Central Park that he didn't hear her properly and when he came to reality, she was already gone... And on top of that, the lights of the area had suddenly been switched off...
Suddenly he could hear a very melodious sound... A sound he was sure that was of Swara... She was singing but still, everything was dark...

And suddenly the lights were switched on and Sanskar could see a path created in front of him. A dim yellow carpet on the floor surrounded by rose petals with yellow lights making the boundary of the whole decoration.

Sanskar started moving forward and he could see the lights getting brighter and the decoration more beautiful than they were a second before. He was all lost in the decorations...

As the song ended, he came back to his senses and looked around for Swara... When he turned back to search her, Swara was standing there, with a candle in her hand... The light of the candle was making her glow and was making her beautiful a thousand more times and Sanskar was literally mesmerized...

Sanskar: (whispering) Sh... Shona!!!

Swara: Sansku, they say that sometimes the best relationships begin with a friendship... And indeed this has proven true in our case... 16 years ago, two best friends were separated with a promise to reunite again... 10 months ago, they met and rekindled their friendship. And today, I feel that they are not just friends anymore...
It has been around 20 years of our friendship and I guess that it hasn't faded with time... Instead, it has increased several folds... Who knew that we would meet after 15 years?? When I was on the verge of losing hope that I'll ever find you, you suddenly appeared and trust me, I couldn't be happier...
And now today, not dragging this further, I would like to tell you that I, Swara Bose, has deeply and madly fallen in love with you... I LOVE YOU, SANSKAR MAHESHWARI... So much that you can't even imagine... So will you give me the honour of becoming your girlfriend?? Will you give me the honour of loving you??

Sanakar was speechless... He couldn't voice out his feelings and emotions... He was elated and what not and could just reply in a monosyllable...

Sanskar: Y... YE... YES!!!

As he said this, Swara jumped on him and he responded by wrapping his arms around her waist...

Swara: (still hugging him) I love you so much, Sansku...

Sanskar: I... I... LOVE YOU TOO, SHONA...

And as soon as he said this, the whole park was lighted up with many twinkling lights and he could see their reflection in the lake beside them... Ah!! This moment was so magical...
Sanskar unwillingly pulled out of the hug and both could love and only love in each other's eyes...
Sanskar bent towards her, cupped her cheeks gently with both of his hands and as their faces were an inch apart, he whispered...

Sanskar: (whispering huskily) I love you so much, Shona...

Swara: (whispering softly) I love you too, Sansku...

And he captured her lips in a heart-warming kiss, their first kiss... He pulled her towards him with one hand on her waist and the other on her cheeks and she responded by wrapping her one hand around his neck and the other ruffling his soft hairs... He took it slow, just like a first kiss should be, magical and enchanting...

As he pulled back, he could see his Shona going beetroot red and he chuckled seeing her blushing. This was indeed beautiful, more beautiful than all the beauty of the seven wonders combined. She hugged him out of shyness and he took her in his arms wrapping them around her...

Sanskar: Waise Shona...

Swara: Hmmm.??

Sanskar: (naughtily) I never thought that you'll be blushing after our first kiss considering that you're the one who proposed me...

Listening to this, Swara turned redder and cuddled more into his chest after hitting him and he tightened his grip around her, chuckling.

Indeed, the moment couldn't be more romantic and exhilarating...
