Edward Hyde, as in Mr. Hyde? Oh, I was so screwed, this maniac was going to snap at any moment and start killing people. My heartbeat began speeding up as he continued to talk with me. My whole body was numb so I just nodded as he told me about himself.
"It's kinda nice to be invited to a nice event," he said tipping his top hat. "I don't normally get this kind of treatment." Something inside of me wanted me to ask why, but my own thoughts scared me and I shot them down.

Hyde was nothing but a psycho who was accidentally created by Dr. Jekyll when he tried to separate himself from his dark side. It of course hadn't turned out that way as after drinking his potion, Jekyll became Hyde and the poor man was forced to watch his dark half murder people. There was something I had to know though, how was he in a public place like this? And not having people run away from him? Sure most of the people here were monsters but I was certain even they would know about the infamous Hyde.
"I must admit that I'm surprised." I said taking a risk and Hyde looked at me. My body froze and I expected to see a cold gaze in his eyes, but all I could see was all the sadness of the world along with a kind smile.

"About getting invited or about what I said?" he asked.
"Um, both." I admitted. It wasn't my best response and my entire body told me that I should run away from this man. But this was a chance for me to learn more about what was going on. Hyde smiled and it was a genuine smile, not a psychotic smirk that I expected to see on his face.
"Well I don't know what you've heard about the wolf man," he answered. "But don't let the stories about him terrorizing villages and killing people fool you," he continued. "Connor wouldn't hurt a fly, he can actually control his transformations, people just assume he can't because they've seen him attack their cattle." A sudden rush of anger ran through me and I wanted to tell Hyde of for being a liar.

Maybe he wasn't lying about the wolf man but he was a mad man, he would say anything to make someone trust him. All psychos like him did was lie, cheat, steal and kill.
"Do you need you help?" I suddenly asked interrupting his words about how Alexandria had been banished from her family. He turned to look at me and I felt my knees squirm but I kept talking anyway. ""Are you okay? Or do you truly need help? Cause I have no problem sending you in the jailhouse." I stood there waiting for him to snap and attack me but he just remained silent looking at me. It was like he was trying to examine me and I gulped not wanting him to see how afraid and angry I was.

"Oh so you're one of those people," he answered. "I thought you would be smarter than that Ms. Holmes, not everything you hear about someone like me or them," he pointed to all of the guests and I could see that while he wasn't angry. He wasn't happy with me either and as each passing moment went by, and he didn't do anything to me. I wondered if he was planning on doing something horrible or I have been actually talking to Dr. Jekyll this whole time. "I don't know why you're here, but we all came to be cured because we are tired of the world looking at us like we shouldn't exist." It was a valid statement, even I would admit it but could I really take his word for it? I mean it was Mr. Hyde, he was most likely planning on how he was going to kill me tonight.

But I looked back at the guests and despite how different they all were, none of them seemed to be dangerous. Dracula was currently talking with Doctor Frankenstein and the three witches about how much the world had changed.
"Now I don't know who this mysterious host is," Dracula said. His thick Transylvanian accent sent shivers up my back. "But I'm hoping that I will get the chance to be with my beloved Mina."
"I just want the world to know my story," Doctor Frankenstein answered. "All I did was try to bring my husband back and when he came back like that," she continued and pointed at the monster. Who was currently scaring off the servants with his constant growling. "Stop it I told you that you can't hurt anyone!" She exclaimed.

The three witches just laughed and used a spell to keep the creature from getting up and knocking things over. I jumped at the sound of her voice and looked back at the creature. He didn't speak but grumbled and looked at me with an unreadable expression. In fear I looked away and turned back to Hyde.
"He scares me," I admitted quietly. "You all kinda I've been told you guys were..."
"Make believe, evil, would hurt you." Hyde responded.
"Yeah but you all are so much different than I thought," I answered. "Maybe its an act and I'm not letting my guard down just yet, but you guys are nothing like I've been told."
"Well maybe you shouldn't judge people before you get to know them." Hyde responded.

I don't know what evil spell was put over me after he said that. But I knew he was right, I didn't have any right to judge these people on what I've heard when I didn't even know them. The stories about them were just stories after all, and just like rumors they weren't always the truth.
"You're right," I answered and moved a strand of hair out of my face. "I don't have any right to judge you or anyone else in this room," I continued surprising myself and Hyde. "Tell me more about this war."
"Oh that's not my story to tell," he answered. "You will need to ask Alexandria or Connor, although I for one find that everyone here has a story to tell." Before I could say anything the sound of a spoon being clashed across a glass sounded.

A woman dressed entirely in a red Victorian style dress and a matching feather hat came into view. I couldn't see her head but I couldn't a certain uneasy feeling when she looked at me.
"Good evening everyone," she said with a warm smile. "I am your host and it's my great pleasure to welcome you to my father's hotel," she continued. "I've prepared a splendid dinner for you all and have already set up your rooms."
"Our rooms?" Alexandria asked and I noticed how she began sweating and latched tightly onto whatever was around her neck.
"Don't worry I've prepared everything," the host answered. "You've all come to be cured, so I'm here to help."
"So what do we call you?" Dracula asked.
"Oh professor Marina Moriarty, you may know my father Jim Moriarty."
