In the Winter Lands

"Quickly, quickly he's hatching." Called voices outside the hard shell I was trapped in. I had started to kick to crack my out, to breathe in the cold air the voices kept chatting about. I kicked again, another long crack stretched across. I could see light starting to peek in. "Look he's almost out!" Said one of the voices excitedly. I was determined to get out, so I kicked again and then hit my head against the shell. The egg shattered open and I fell forwards, spaltting across the floor. "Ahh, he's adorable." I looked up and saw an icy blue dragon staring at me with a smile across its face. "Sure, adorable is the right word for it." I looked over and saw another dragon as it rolled its eyes. I already didn't like this other dragon. The icy blue one picked me up and said, "You're just the cutest thing I have ever seen, now what should we name you?" This dragon looked over to the other one. "How about Ice." "No, we need something unique, like, like... oh I know, we'll name you Frostbite." I squeaked in  agreeence. The dragon set me down and wrote on a piece of paper. "Oh my mother will be so proud that we have such a stunning, little, warrior. I looked up again as I batted away an ice pellet. "That's right Frostbite, you'll be the best warrior this tribe has ever seen." I went back to batting away ice pellets. I rolled along the floor until I bumped into a wall. "Look at him, he's stupid." Said the white dragon. "No he's not, he's our son and he's precious and special in every way." "Oh whatever." The white dragon walked out of the room. The blue one looked back at me and picked me up. "Come on Frostbite, do you want food." I chirped in response. I was carried into another room and was set down on an ice block. The dragon left and came back with a fish. She sliced it and handed me little pieces of it. I chewed on it until some of it cut off from the rest and slipped into my mouth. I chewed the piece some more, then swallowed it. The other dragon had already swallowed the fish and came over to help me. She sliced into smaller pieces for me to swallow. I picked up a tiny chunk and set it in my mouth. I swallowed it and then finished the rest.
I looked up to the other dragon. "I am Frosta, your Mom. And that grumpy dragon is your Dad, his name is Snowfall." Said Mom. "Now I'm about to tell you something really special Frostbite, are you ready?" I squeaked. "Are you sure." I squeaked again. "Are you absolutely sure about this." I squeaked again starting to get annoyed. "Okay Frostbite, you are so special because, wait for it, because you are the prince of this kingdom."

In the Spring falls

I could hear faint noises coming from outside. The noises were calling me to come out and play with them. Then I heard loud voices, "Mom, why hasn't she hatched yet?" "She will on her own time." "But mom, we hatched on our hatching day, why is she taking so long?" "Every dragonet takes a different amount of time to hatch, so just be patient." "But mommm..." "Just be patient, how go play with your siblings." "But..." "No buts, now go." "Fine." Should I come out, the one voice seemed like it really wanted me to come. I should make it happy. I started to kick and rock and squeak. I kicked again and again until long splinters could be seen on the shell. I kicked again and light started to peek through. "Rain come quick." Said the voice that is mom. I heard talonsteps enter the room, they sounded like the same ones as before. "Yay, she decided to come." I kicked again, more light flooded in. I headbutted the cracks and the roof fell open above me. I shook the shell pieces off of me. "Ahh, she's so cute." Said a smaller dragon. "She is cute." Said a bigger dragon which I think is mom. "Oh mom, can I please name her." "Sure Rain, you can." "Yay. Okay I've been cooking up names all day. Puddle, no. Buttercup, no. How about Splash." I chirp. "Yes Spalsh sounds perfect." The dragon named Rain picks me up, "Come on Splash, let's go meet your other siblings." I dont try to struggle away, I just let myself be carried into the other room. "Careful with her." Calls mom.
When we enter the room, 2 other heads pop up. "Hey Rain, whatcha got there." "Its our new sibling Leaf. Her name is Splash." "Shes so pretty." Says the dragonet behind the couch. "She is, isn't she Butterfly." Butterfly nods in agreement. "Mist, dont be shy." Says Rain looking at the heap of blankets. I see the heap shuffle and another head pops. Mist slowly crawls out and comes closer to us. "H-hey there little guy." I reach my talons towards her. "O-oh, you want me to h-hold you. Um okay." Mist reaches out and I hop into her talons. She cradles me close to her chest. I bet around the leafy tendrils that drip from her head and she giggles.  "You're the cutest thing." "So Splash," starts Rain, "Leaf and Butterfly are the oldest of us, they were in the same hatching. Mist and I are the youngest, well now you are, we were also in the same hatching. But you were just by yourself, so I'll take care of you." I hop out of Mists arms and scuttle across the floor. I look up at Leaf and Butterfly and they both just smile.  I smile back and crawl back over to Rain. "You're going to have the best time anyone dragon has ever had.

In the Summer Oases

All I could hear was sand battering against my shell. No voices, just nothingness. I heard voices early on outside my egg, but those voices had left a long time ago. I could feel that heat was warming my shell, I knew it would get warmer as the day passed on. I thought to myself, 'should I come out now and feel the heat warming my scales. Maybe I should wait a little. No, no I must get out.' So I started to kick the shell. Again and again I slammed my talon against the hard surface. It started to crack and splinter. I kicked again and small pieces started to cave in. I kicked a final time and the egg burst open. I flopped out onto warm sand. I tried to stand up, but my legs fell underneath me. I tried a few more times until I finally got up. I looked up towards the sky and saw a vastness of blue and white. I was surrounded by sand, but I knew there was water close by. I followed my senses to a small oasis. I rolled down the sand dune and landed at the edge of the water. "Oh," said a voice, "where did you come from little guy." I looked over the water and saw a dragon standing there looking at me. Behind her I saw a building, and 4 dragonets. "Who's that momma?" Asked one of them. "I dont know Heatwave, they just rolled in." The bigger dragon, presumably named momma, walked over to me and picked me up. "Newborn, good shape, but where are your parents." She climbed up the dune with me still in her arm, she looked over and nothing but sand. "Hmm, I guess he was abandoned, I dont see any out there." The dragonet named Heatwave walked up to us, "Well what do we do with him?" "Keep him I guess, I'm not going to leave a dragonet out there by itself." "Yay, another playmate." "No playing with him yet, he's still very young." "Okay, I'll go tell the others." And with that, Heatwave scampered off back into the oasis. "So what do we name you, hmm. Do you like the name Lakeside." I squeak in agreement to my new name. "Perfect, let's go meet the others." Mom carries me back down the sand dune and into the building. When we enter, Heatwave rushes towards us with the other three dragonets following behind him. They all stop in front of us and sit.
"So mom, what did you name him?" Asked Heatwave. "His name is Lakeside. Lakeside, this is Pond, Palm, and Beach." Pond, Palm, and Beach all say hello to me. I'm placed down and instantly swarmed. "Guys, calm down. Give Lakeside his space." They all back away and let pass by. "Heatwave, would you like to show Lakeside the house." "Sure mom, follow me Lakeside." I follow behind him as he leads me through the house.

In the Fall Forests

I could hear birds chirping, and other animals scuffling around. I wanted to get out and run with those animals, but I knew that would never happen. I could hear tapping against my dark enclosure. "I wonder when it will hatch." "Probably later today." Said two voices. "I can't wait to meet my new sister." Said a third. 'Sister, is that what I am.' I thought. I wanted to meet this dragon who called me sister. I kicked and clawed at the walls. I chirped and squeaked and rocked. Cracks started to cover the egg. I thrust my wing outwards and it crashed through the wall. I still couldn't get out, so I tried the other wing. When that didn't work I thrust my head upwards and the walls caved in. I rolled out and splayed across the floor. Instantly the three voices in unison said, "ahh." I looked up to see three heads looking down at me. The smallest one said, "She's so adorable."
"I know right, I remember when you were little." Said the middle one. "Mommm, stop it." Said the smaller one again while batting a wing at 'mom'. "Teruk, we should name her Teruk." Said the biggest one. "Doesnt that mean small tree in the Southern Fall language." Said mom. "It does, glad you remember." "That's a perfect name for her." "Teruk huh, rolls off the tounge." Said the small one. The big dragon started to walk off, "hey Lakea (pronounced lake-a), can you grab Teruk and bring her inside." "Yes dad, come on Teruk, let's go inside." Lakea picked me up and carried me into a large hollow tree. Inside I saw many rooms and sets of stairs that led upwards. I looked around and saw the big dragon, dad, standing next to mom by a couch of moss. Lakea carried me over towards mom and dad, and set me down on the floor. I crawled right over and curled up on the moss. I stared up into the brown eyes of my mom and she turned to head to stare back at me. "You are the sweetest thing ever." Said mom. "What about me?!" Said Lakea. "You as well." My mom said nodding to Lakea. Lakea smiled and I chirped, wanting to be picked up. Somehow mom understood my plea and picked me up. "Do you want some food?" She asked. I chirped in response. "Okay. Lakea, can you grab some small pieces of bark for Teruk to try." "Yes mom." Lakea scampered away and came back with some bark. She put the bark by my talons and said, "here you go Teruk, take a bite." I grabbed hold of the bark and Lakea let go. I took a bite and chewed it. It was kind of juicy with some bugs in it. I took another bite and chewed some more. Mom and dad started to talk and Lakea was playing, so I just continued to chew on my bark while they did their thing.
