I'm in the contest waiting area when I sense more shadows. I go somewhere private, then call out the Evee twins and Mastaru. "Go deal with the shadows," I say, "I'll use Squirtle for the contest." They obey and I go through the contest.

     I win the first three rounds easily and in the last round I am facing off against Anthony. I had been so focused on the shadows not getting closer I hadn't noticed he was participating too.

     On the battlefield, my Squirtle is versing his Bulbasaur. Bulbasaur uses razor leaf and I have Squirtle use rapid spin to counter. It uses vine whip, and I have Squirtle spin and use water gun to counter. Bulbasaur started charging up a solar beam and Squirtle started to glow. He evolved into Wartortle, and used protect when the solar beam was fired. The attack was not only blocked, it was knocked back and hit Bulbasaur. "Aqua Jet." I order, and the battle is won.

      I accept the ribbon and go to help destroy the shadows. I will destroy as many as needed to fulfill this journey.
