The events unfolding before Ozone's eyes were happening so fast that he didn't even have time to blink. One moment, he was sure that his life was over as Danger's deadly tail came barreling towards his forehead. And in the next, Lily had appeared out of nowhere and leaped between the hairless cat and the pit bull.

Now, Lily hung, impaled, on Danger's tail. The point entered her back and protruded through her stomach. Blood ruined her orange tabby fur. Gazing down at Ozone, she weakly smiled at him. Her green eyes filled with pain and sadness, along with one other emotion. However, Ozone couldn't tell what it was when Danger swung his tail, sending Lily tumbling across the ground. A trail of blood followed her.

"Stupid cat," Danger muttered, flicking the orange tabby's blood off his tail. Staring at Lily as she lay motionless on the ground just a few yards away from him, Ozone could feel the rage building up inside of him. But before the hairless cat could get to his feet, Danger's metal paw whacked Ozone on the side of his head, catapulting him into Snowball and Tattoo, who were coming to the hairless cat's rescue. Snorting, the pit bull was about to go after the three when Duke lunged at him.
