Lounging upon the back of an armchair, Ozone watched Nitro and Pepper in dead silence. In the distance, he could see Buddy and Daisy playing with each other while Duke and Sky had fallen asleep. Why does everyone have to have a happy ending but me? he asked himself. Blinking back tears, Ozone let out a long sigh.

"Hey Ozone, what's the matter?" Chloe's question drew Ozone away from his thoughts. Lifting his head, he grumbled, "What are you doing here?!" Glancing around, Chloe whispered, "I'm hiding from Pops." Huffing, Ozone laid his head back down. He could feel Chloe's gaze burning his skin.

"You know, you should really let the past go Ozone," Chloe advised. Confused, Ozone glanced over at the tabby cat. But she was already walking off to find another hiding spot. Sighing ruefully, Ozone closed his green eyes...
