Song The Fear by The Score

St. Petersburg, Russia GRU Safehouse

Avery immediately woke up with a puzzled look on his face with a hood over his head, handcuffed to a chair in front of the table. He didn't know where he was or how he got here. A shuffling of footsteps grew louder, crashing through the rampant thudding of his heart. The door suddenly flew open as Calina Ekeratina Bychkov stalked into the interrogation room. Armed GRU agents strode in behind her side. Her blonde long hair flung back revealing the face of a devilish cold, calculating and manipulating agent.

She gestured to one of the GRU agents to remove the hood on the aging CIA station chief's head, She made her way over to the table as she slammed her fist down on it yelled in a demanding tone" You have something that belongs to me I want it back."

"I have no idea what you're talking about. Do you know who I am? Avery snapped in an angry tone.

"Yes, your chief of station in the United States Embassy oversees the CIA operations in Ukraine and Russia. But that will end soon," Calina told him.

"That will never happen; Bychkov, my agency, and the President won't let that happen. I can promise you," Avery snapped.

"I know about your daughter Maizie.  You don't want anything to happen to her, do you now? Calina inquired in her Russian accent.

From his knowledge and intel, he'd known that  The SVR and the GRU had increased their spying in the United States, it was no doubt that they could have moles inside the CIA. He didn't either know what his daughter did for a living. All he knew was that she was in the military that was it. Maybe they had a photograph of her. Maybe they had a photograph of her. His mind drifted to Alexander, the last time he had seen him was before the GRU agents had burst into the mansion. He wasn't to this Russian spymaster what she wanted.

He had set his plan in motion with the help of Alexsander and Bill Browder. Yes, the disc was important, but it was just the first step of many in his operation. The rest was up to his daughter.  It hadn't been his idea to bring Maize into this, but Alexander must have seen something in her that he didn't. He didn't care what happened to him.

She walked behind his chair and slammed his head down on the table as says. You think your sanctions will cripple our country. I assure you that it won't!!

She pulled his face up from the table as he spat down near her shoes and told her. " Russia will pay for what they are doing to the Ukrainians and for inferring with elections."

"Ukraine belongs to Russia and that will never change," Calina told him.

"You believe that don't you, but it doesn't," Avery scowled in a painful tone.

His ribs ached with pain, and he had a splitting headache. Besides that, he was his usual self. It was oblivious to him that Bychkov had orders from the Kremlin to find out about his operation and about who his assets were. He had spent years gathering all the assets for his network. His intelligence was vital that didn't fall into the hands of the GRU. He had heard what those dissents who opposed the Kremlin.

Calina strode around the table. She was getting nowhere with this. She could tell that he was going to break; he had been trained too well. But there was always a choking point; all she had to do was wait and see. She had broken many agents before, so he wouldn't be the first one. Over the years, she had been behind one of the most dangerous operations ever: the Danske Bank money-laundering operation. And, of course, orchestrating the attack on the Capitol.

"Crimea has always belonged to Russia; you just never listen," she snarled in a Russian accent as she grabbed his hand and placed it on the table. Then she reached into her sheath and withdrew her blade as she pushed it deep into Avery's hand.

Avery screamed in pain. "Fuck, you will pay for it, I swear."

She pulled out the blade from the sheath, revealing a wound that appeared on his hand as red blood oozed out. She wipes the blade on his sleeve. " On Victory Day all the Oligarchs who stole from the state will be killed, and America will pay deeply."

"Trust me, Bychkov. The sanctions are the start of what's to come. You haven't seen the worst of it," Avery stated.

If this aging chief of station thought she was just a normal spymaster, he had no idea about her. She was the daughter of Major General Pavel Ekaterina Bychkov who oversaw the DirectorateS of the KGB, which was responsible for preparing and planting sleepers agents aboard which carried out terror operations and sabotage in foreign countries.

After she had graduated from the Red Banner Institute and became a foreign agent, she got her assignment, where she was posted to the Russian Embassy in New York. So she knew all about the CIA and their countermeasures against them.

In a way, she was an oligarch herself but had never stolen from the state.   She owned mansions and yachts all over Europe. The billions she had earned and made from wealth and power were all from the operations that she had for the GRU. All that had changed now when a KGB and GRU black operator had stolen the encrypted disc from her mansion in Nice where he outsmarted her security team there and had eliminated two of her best agents' kill shots from an extreme distance.

"You Americans, think it was just luck that our President Putin got along with the former President of the United States. You have no idea that we were behind it," She stated.

"You mean Flynn Tyson, who was defeated by our new President, I knew he was a puppet controlled by the Kremlin," Avery replied.

Just then her satellite phone buzzed as one of the GRU agents strode over to her handing her the phone. She snatched, noticing the encrypted ten digitals from the Kremlin: It was the Russian President. She held the phone up to her ear before she spoke.

"Mr. President, I have everything under control here. Trust me,  I will find Alexander and get the disc back," she told President Putin.

"I'm not worried about that Miss Bychkov I worried about the list of Oligarchs in the briefcase Alexander had put together and gave it to the chief of Station," He remarked.

"Don't worry, I have dispatched the Wagner group to retrieve it and to shoot anyone who gets in their way," she told him.

She glanced over at the aging spy chief, seeing the cold expression on his face,  knowing that he would never give up the location of the list if his life depended on it. She could just take him outside the safe house and shoot him in the back of his head with a high calibre revolver and leave him in an unmarked grave No, she had a  better idea,  she would make an example out of him parade him of all the Russian people and the President himself.

She ended the conversation on her satellite phone and strode over to the spy chief and says. "Let's change the subject, shall we? Tell me where the list of the oligarchs is and I promise to let one of you will live, you chose your daughter or you?"

"I never give up the list location, understand Bychkov, You hurt my daughter, I swear I unleash hell on the Kremlin and you," Avery snarled.

She grabbed his head again and slammed it down on the table,  my offer is only good for one minute, You know that we tried to eliminate in Berlin before it wasn't me but a Ruthless foreign agent who ran and owned her network of assassin sleeper cells. Think about the offer."

He thought about Maizie  He loved seeing her standing on Alexander's balcony. He knew what he had her gotten involved in that she would understand, or at least he hoped so. As, the chief of the station, he'd served a lot of presidents over the years, the worst was Flynn Tyson, a billionaire who made friends with rogue dictators.  Who had met with the Russian President in Helsinki and believed the election had been stolen from him. He had also been. called back to Washington, but Director Hamilton interfered with it.
