The world of The Fated, or Siren Song as the first book is titled, is a vast high fantasy universe I've been working on for years. As such, there is a lot more information than I can pack into the books without doing it just to show off the world building. That's what this book is for! If you want to know things about the world that might not get covered within the series because of a lack of necessity, or perhaps you just want a refresher, this book is for you.

The chapters after this will cover everything from the countries, to the characters. Which means it's important to take note of what you're getting yourself into before you click on a chapter, as I'm currently working on catching this book up to current information. Which means if you aren't caught up, you'll be spoiled. Tread carefully!

Now for a basic overview of this world. We'll dive more deeply into it in future chapters.

Tarmae, the world The Fated series, as well as planned future series, takes place in has no clear time setting. A lot of their technology is based on real world, 1700s equivalents, but there are some places where they soar ahead, or even lag behind. It's because of one main factor their world has--magic.

There's also a lot of ancient civilization influences. For example, the fact that ancient Greece and Rome had an equivalent of modern day plumbing, and so does Tarmae, but your stereotypical early European-based fantasy world does not. Ancient China had mines (the explosive kind), and some parts of Japan had palaces that consisted of different buildings rather than one giant castle.

Long story short, this fantasy world has a lot of influences and it's own time period of development.

If there is anything you want to know that isn't covered... well, feel free to ask a question in the comments below! I have no problem writing a chapter covering something you might be curious about. There's even a chance you might bring up something I haven't thought out yet, which would be an exciting excuse for pouring more hours into world building.

P.S. The chapter titles will make it obvious what is being discussed in them, so if there is something you don't want spoilers on, make sure to check the chapter title! And any information you take away from those chapters, please don't go back to the main series and use it to spoil others.
