Eight years ago the dragons were lead by their alpha, Toothless, down into the Hidden World for safety. A haven for all dragons to live in peace, a home of crystal and light, with tunnels deeper and caverns wider than any dragon could ever dream. Scauldrons swam the depths of the swamps, Deadly Nadders fly and squawk like birds, Skrills lurk in the woods and caves. And as the years went on, Toothless had told Skull, his son, of the wonders of the outside world where he came from, it's open skies, pillars of green that he called trees, the vast oceans and scaling cliffs, and the legendary strange two-legged creatures he called. Humans. And these tales of the other world entranced Skull, each morning he would spread his wings and fly to the gateway to the heavens, the outside world he had heard so much about. And each morning he would get a little higher, and a little higher, but the boy would fall back into the depths. That was until, one morning, he didn't.

It was even more beautiful then his father had said, a canvas of blue meeting an azure horizon, specks of light glittering like jem stones affixed on the sky above. The first stars he had ever seen, but unlike crystal. Moving on an invisible axis. And then with his wings spread, gliding through the air, he saw a in the distance, a spit of green and brown rising out of the blue. Covered with the pillars of green his father had called trees. It was an alien world, it even smelled different, earthy sent being caried on the salty wind. It was all new, this world of green and blue. So different from his home, but, was it safe? Unfamiliar creatures feasted on the greenery around him.

And then, it was a rustle from the bushes behind him.

'What a strange creature' he had thought to himself as much as she's would surely think of him. 'What was this.. girl?' But as they moved closer to one another, they saw something.

Something maybe, just maybe. You could trust.

Startled by the sound behind the bushes, the girl darted for the trees. There was no time to say goodbye, he knew that unimpressed look on his mother and fathers face, one that read, "let's go, without another thought." But as Skull lifted his wings, he cast one glance back. He swore to himself, this wouldn't be the last time he saw the human girl, no. He would return.
