A week after the discovery of Rufus's death by poisoning, Rosa had become a mother of two while Tiberius became an uncle.

Feeling sorry for his sister's loss, Tiberius had helped Rosa anyway he could by helping her collects twigs and branches for the nest and bringing food for her to eat. He would often bring Dodger or Sleet over whenever one of the two siblings thought there was something askew. Both the osprey and the ancient bald eagle would reassure them that everything was alright. But no matter how many times that they were told that, Rosa still would seem worried. And ever since finding out that Rufus was dead, she was very depressed. In an attempt to cheer her up, Tiberius had gone out and grabbed four or five skulls of miscellaneous birds and rodents. Using them as puppets, he was able to lift her spirits to the point where she joined in.

It had only been two days after their little bone puppet show when Rosa finally noted that it was time. When he had asked what he could do, Tiberius had been kicked out of the shed to fetch either Dodger or Sleet. Better yet, maybe even both. Flying out to Central Park in the first few hours before sunrise, the red tailed hawk had managed to get the ancient bald eagle. Unable to find the osprey since Dodger was off collecting herbs who knows where, Tiberius had lead Sleet back to the apartment building and the shed where they had found Rosa perfectly fine and curled around two small eggs. White with brown spots and in the shape of a sphere, Sleet declared that they were okay and congratulated the pair on the new additions to the family. Once the bald eagle had left, Tiberius stayed up with his sister, watching over her from his perch on a branch while the sun came up.

When Alfred had come up twenty minutes after the sun did, he was completely unprepared for what he was about to see. His eyes could not have gone any wider. However, his shock was soon replaced with happiness. He congratulated Rosa on becoming a mother while giving the two hawks their breakfast. After the old man gave her a phone call, Dr. Laura Green stopped by. She was as equally surprised as Alfred had been but she guessed that's why Rosa had been acting strange for the past few weeks. Tiberius, all the while, kept watch over his little sister, never once letting her out of his sight. That wasn't too hard since Rosa stayed on the nest constantly.

At last, night had arrived. The day had brought a wonderful surprise but that happiness was doomed to be shortlived...
