Chapter 5
Frank's POV:
I walk around with my girlfriend by my side.
I felt as if Nicole and I were the only ones there.
The multitude was busy with all the festivities.
"Hey, Frank?"
"Yes, Nicole?"
I know it is the time for strawberries, but do you think you could get us some apple cider?
"Sure thing, babe."
Sometimes, I wonder if I made a mistake. Lucy and I were close once. I sighed. Why did she cut all ties with me since the breakup?
Nicole gave me a cute look. Her smile lit up my world.
"Here is the cider."
"Watch it, Frank. It is hot. You almost spilled it on me." She whines.
Was she always immature?
I take my eyes off her for a second.
I wave at Lucy.
That girl always had a knack for climbing trees.
I hear someone call out to her.
Morgan did always have a crush on Lucy.
Why was I troubled about the thought of him and her?
I shrug my shoulders as I wrap an arm around Nicole.
"Nicole, let us go. The festival is starting."
"Okay, whatever you say, Frankie poo."
I smile but cringe on the inside.
I hate it when she calls me Frankie poo.
I notice her shiver, so I offer her my jacket. It is a gentlemanly thing to do.
I hand her a piece of roasted corn. As she eats it, I sigh, did I pick the right girl?
I laugh as Morgan wakes up and climbs the tree.
Some things never change.
Nicole and I are together. I smile at the thought. Yes, everything is as it should be.
the story continues in Chapter 6
Until then,
bye-bye, little owlets!
Summer out!
