~A Few Minutes Later~

Spruce, Clay, and John Dory rode their bikes while Floyd rode his bike that had a mini basket for Baby Branch to ride on as they went through Troll Forest, and into the Troll Marketplace.

At the Troll Marketplace where lots of Trolls were doing their own thing of chatting, shopping, and working. They waved at Trolls who knew them, they took a few stops to sign autographs, photos, and music albums, and continued to ride their bikes to the ice cream shop. Taped on the door, a sign read "Help Wanted".

~At the Ice Cream Shop~

Spruce quickly went inside the ice cream shop and a lime green-skinned Troll with a green mustache greeted him, though he didn't seem pleased to see him or his brothers but when Spruce mentioned wanting to work there, the Troll's mood changed.

"Well, well, well, you want to work at my ice cream shop, huh?"

"Yes?" Spruce said slowly, reading his name tag that read Mr. Bubbles.

"Well, good news, kid, I need more employees to work here as I had to fire several of them," Mr. Bubbles said.

"How many?" Clay asked.

John Dory nudged Clay, shaking his head. "It's none of our business to know that."

"Seven," Mr. Bubbles answered.

"Dawg," John Dory said while Clay whistled at this.

"So, you boys want to work here?" Mr. Bubbles said, smiling.

"It's just me, sir," Spruce replied.

"Oh. Well, you planning to work here full-time?"

"Part-time. I don't want to work a full day as I have other plans, including performing..."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, just sign here. Fill in this application and once you're done, you are hired."

"Sounds simple enough." Spruce grabbed a nearby pen on the desk, grabbed the application paper, and filled in every detail that they asked for.

Clay faced Mr. Bubbles. "Excuse me....Mr. Bubbles...."

Baby Branch giggled. "Mr. Bubbles? That's his name?"

Mr. Bubbles grumbled. "Yes. But that's my last name."

"But why?" Baby Branch asked.

"Because....because...."

"You like bubbles?" Baby Branch said, smiling.

Mr. Bubbles grumbled. "Yes..."

Clay faced Mr. Bubbles. "Excuse me, but don't signing these papers take time to do? Like does Spruce have to start his job like the next day or so? And what about doing an interview? Isn't that require to...."

"I NEED MORE EMPLOYEES OKAY, KID!?! I DON'T HAVE TIME TO DO ALL OF THAT NONSENSE STUFF!!! MY SHOP IS AT RISK OF CLOSURE AND I CAN'T LOSE IT!!"

Clay sighed and rolled his eyes, mumbling to himself. "Okay, okay. Geez."

"Look, sir, you....you....you...didn't have to yell at my brother like that. Th-Th-Th-That is what we call Emotional immaturity," Floyd said, hiding behind John Dory.

"Yeah, my 3rd youngest brother's right. He is just informing you about stuff that I didn't even know that......okay, I see that you don't want to hear about it...." John Dory made a popping noise with his mouth, hugging Floyd.

"Hey, are you sure that you want to work here?" Clay asked.

"Positive," Spruce said.

"Even when he has some anger issues?" Clay whispered.

"I bet Mr. Bubbles is just stressed about everything about his ice cream shop," Spruce said. He handed the paper to Mr. Bubbles who quickly took is, looking through the paper.

"Okay, now you are officially hired. Here's your apron, one of the employees will teach you what you need to know and you can start working now," he said, throwing a black apron at Spruce.

Spruce held onto the black apron. His eyes twinkled as he held onto the apron, smiling from ear to ear.

Spruce got excited, jumping for joy. "WHOO-HOO!!! YES!!! I GOT MY FIRST JOB EVER!!!"

"CONGRATULATIONS!" Floyd, Clay, Baby Branch, and John Dory said, hugging him.

"Hey, HEY!! Time to get to work, BRUCE!" Mr. Bubbles said.

"It's Spruce, sir," Spruce said.

Mr. Bubbles ignored him, grumbling to himself.

"Well, I must go and get to work. See you guys soon," Spruce said, waving at his brothers.

"Wait, can we have free ice cream?" Baby Branch said.

"Sorry, boys, no free ice cream," Mr. Bubbles replied.

"But what about coupons?" Spruce asked. "Don't the employees get coupons or discounts or..."

"I don't have any, sorry. You got to pay."

Clay, Baby Branch, and Floyd faced John Dory, giving him the puppy eyes. It didn't take long for John Dory to bring out his wallet as he sigh, smiling at his brothers.

"Okay, I'll pay for it," John Dory said.

"YAAAAAY!!" Baby Branch, Clay, and Floyd said.

"And I'll serve them," Spruce said happily.

~Later~

After preparing himself for the job, he learned how to scoop ice cream and what to do and what to say to a customer, using his brothers as an example. He was thankful that one of the employees guided him. And once it clicked to him, he helped serve each of his brothers the ice cream they wanted. Afterwards, it was time to start working as he waved goodbye to his brothers, hugging them before they left.

Soon, an employee with lime green, curly hair came into the ice cream shop, putting on her apron. Her name tag "Tia" shined in the light. She faced Spruce, and waved at him. Now this wave was not like a regular way. It was more like a flirting way, which this caught his attention, so he just waved like a normal Troll would do. There was no spark at all.

Spruce focused on serving his very first customer a vanilla ice cream, which to him was an easy level for him to do, but then he got a bit bored as he noticed that not many Trolls were coming.

Mr. Bubbles wasn't kidding about needing more Trolls to work at his ice cream shop as they were only four employees, including him.

"Is this always like this?" Spruce asked another employee who was organizing the ice cream cups.

The employee nodded. "Definitely. It seemed like every ten to twenty minutes we would get customers."

Spruce groaned, slumping on the table. He did not expect his first day on the job to be boring. Could this job be the right one for him? Perhaps he should have considered with walking critters and creatures instead?

"And not only that we spend most of the time on our phones," Tia said. "Speaking of, can I get your phone number?"

Spruce gave her an uncomfortable look. "We just met. I-I barely even know you."

Tia scoffed. "But still. I'm a huge fan of you."

Mr. Bubbles came. "HEY!!! THAT'S ENOUGH CHIT-CHAT!! BACK TO WORK!!!"

Spruce faced the empty shop. "Mr. Bubbles, how can we work when...."

"I have to go to a meeting. I can't be late again." Mr. Bubbles left the ice cream shop.

One of the employees named Starshine shook her head. "He's not going to a meeting. He always used that excuse to leave and go to whatever he wants to go."

Spruce sighed and decided to help with putting cupcakes on display? Cupcakes? Why would cupcakes be at an ice cream shop? Before he could ask about this, a bell of the door rang.

Spruce sighed. "Hello and welcome to...."

"Oh my gosh, it's SPRUCE!!!!"

He faced the front to find young, identical twins who were conjoined by the hair, coming inside the ice cream shop. The Troll who had pastel pink skin and blue eyes squealed while the one who had lavender-blue skin and purple eyes waved at him. A purple-skinned Troll, who Spruce assumed that it was their mother (due to having the similar hair color like them) walked with them.

The twin girls squealed. And it didn't take for the twins to run towards him, hugging him, squealing, talking all at once in an exciting way. Spruce immediately warmed up to them, hugging and greeting them.

"Oh, hi there! Don't you girls look so cute?" Spruce said.

"What do you say, sweeties?" Their mother said.

"Thank you!" The twins said in unison. "We are the fashion twins!"

"Ooo, fashion twins?" Spruce questioned.

"I'm Satin," the Troll with the pastel pink skin said.

"And I'm Chenille," the Troll with the lavender-blue skin said, curtsying.

"It's nice to meet you both. So, what would I get you two?"

"Vanilla, please," Satin said.

"No, Chocolate!" Chenille said.

"No, Chenille, we are having Vanilla."

"No, no, no! Chocolate, Satin!"

"VANILLA!!!!"

"CHOCOLATE!!!"

The two of them screamed at each other, getting some of the customers' attention. Spruce frowned, feeling so sorry for them, especially for their mother who tried to calm them down, but struggled to do this.

"I am so sorry. They are always like this and getting them to agree with something together is a struggle. Can you serve each of them both chocolate and vanilla? I don't care if it costs a lot more than I wanted to pay, but that's okay," their mother said, opening her purse.

"No worries at all. In fact, I think there's a way they can have both without you paying so much," Spruce said. "How about they could have Chocolate chip?"

Satin and Chenille immediately stopped screaming. "Chocolate chip?"

Spruce nodded. "Yes. It's a vanilla based ice cream with chocolate chips in it. That way, you can both have what you want. Do you want to try it?"

Satin and Chenille looked at each other and after a minute of thinking, they nodded. Their mother sighed in relief. Spruce gave them each a small-sized bowl of chocolate chip ice cream. When he served it to the girls, he let out a huge smile, watching them enjoy and eat their ice cream.

"Mmmmmmm! It's good!" Chenille said.

"I love chocolate chip ice cream! Yummy!" Satin said.

Their mother ended up paying three dollars, which Spruce was thankful that he helped her save some money. In fact, Satin and Chenille's mother was impressed.

"Thank you so much! I really appreciate it," she replied.

"You're welcome," Spruce said.

"You are so good with children."

Spruce blushed, smiling hard. "Awww, I tried. But thanks. And I hope you three have a great day."

"Thank you and you too. Girls, what do you say?"

Satin and Chenille, who had ice cream all over their mouths, smiled at Spruce. "Thank you and bye-bye!"

Spruce waved at them. "Bye-bye!"

He watched the three of them leave as he couldn't help but to listen to the girls sing about seeing him at the ice cream shop. And as Spruce was about to put up the ice cream scoop, two customers came rushing in.

"OH MY GOSH, THOSE GIRLS WERE RIGHT! SPRUCE IS HERE!" Two girl Trolls came and squealed. "So, do you work here?"

"Yeah?"

The two troll girls squealed, asking for ice cream orders. It didn't take long for four more customers to come into the shop, getting excited about Spruce working there, and then four more Trolls came in. And soon enough, five more. All the customers were getting excited, squealing, screaming, and waving out their money.

"Now. Who wants ice cream?" Spruce held out an ice cream scoop in each of his hands.
