The little chitter-chatter of the thunder and lightning was continuing at the darkest night as avni lay down to sleep. Sleep was far away, her mind was still disturbed with the unwanted wrangle she had with Neil.

"Why does he always do this to me? I thought I was helping him!" avni mumbled in between the tears as she switched off the light getting ready to relax herself. She holded her Fist harder as she shut her eyes close trying hard to drift into sleep. But every part of her heart ached as she was not being able to forget the fiasco.

The clinging sound over the door indicated that Neil has returned from his work. Avni was lying on the side with her back facing the door. She didn't even bother to look at him. Neil came near the bed and stood there trying hard to peep the other side to check whether avni was asleep. But he couldn't see anything, as her back was facing him and the room was eventually dark with only the lightning as the source of luminosity at equal intervals of time.

She must be still mad at me, he thought as he found her fisted hands while she was lying there curling her knees up hugging her pillow close to her chest. I shouldn't have shouted at her, he bit his lips seeing her in that position. Her dry cheeks with traces of tears were slightly visible in the dark place. Neil sighed seeing her like that.

The closing sound of the bathroom door made avni relax her body from the stiff position. Neil went to change and refresh. Avni opened her eyes to see the room empty and the light of the bathroom on. She released her knees and hugged the pillow more tightly closing her eyes with fist pressed harder that her knuckles went pale. Her heart started beat fast and eyes fastened to shut down as the door opened again.

She didn't want to face him and kept up her position of facing her back. Neil dropped the towel on the couch as he moved towards the bed to sleep. Avni felt the moment in the bed but acted as if she was fast asleep.

As he knelt closer to Avni, Neil kissed her knuckles which made her free her fingers from the frigid hold. He pulled away the pillow she was holding which she left pretending still to be asleep and he slowly slides his hands in-between the mattress and her body engulfing her collar bone from behind pulling her towards him forcefully making her hit his hard torso.

"I know you are awake" he whispered in her ears and she shuddered immediately feeling his hot breathe around her weak spot while the loud roar of thunder forced her to open her eyes. But she refused to turn back to face him stubborn while her heart once again relayed his words.

"Why are you always interested in rehabilitating my files avni, now I can't find this anywhere! I just now left it here"

"I was frustrated with the case avni" he read her mind. Now he snuggled over her shoulders rubbing his stubble over her skin and she felt Goosebumps all over her body. This is the effect he has on me and he exactly knows how to use it, avni thought and she became angry again. Angry for him shouting at her unnecessarily.

"That don't give you a patent to shout at me" she proclaimed back with an angry tone. Neil looked at her. At least those made her turn and look at me.

He pulls her as she tries to drift back from his hold. "jaha gussa vaha pyaar hai" he mumbled as she stared at him angrily. He smiled while she gave whatever look and turned away.

"It's only you I have to show my anger. Mere dil bahut saaf hai avni" he tried to make up the situation but avni was still in her decision.

"Hey! I am sorry" he mumbled hugging her tighter as he felt her eyes getting misty. "I shouldn't have shouted, please forgive this poor soul" he spoke softly caressing her arms. His other hand was encircled over her belly and he pulled her closer. Not being able to hold it anymore she turned in a swift and hugged him tighter. Neil fell back to the bed as he failed to balance and in result avni was completely on top of him.

"You know how much I was hurt" she slapped his arms while other hand still encircling his neck and her face buried in his neck. Neil pulled her more on him if only possible. After all avni was on the whole top of him.

Pressing more tightly she slowly drifted into sleep while Neil admired her in her sleep, like a vampire he didn't feel like sleeping that day.

Her flushed face and pinkish nose with a cute pout as her cheeks were pressed hard on his chest, he could spend his whole life staring at her holding her like this.

Never go to bed angry, always stay up and fight until you embrace each other to sleep!
