The angel named Bar kept staring at me and it was making me uncomfortable.

I clearly remembered our previous meetings. Even back then he seemed weird. But it had been a couple of hours since we had hidden ourselves inside this underground stronghold and he just kept staring at me.

"Do you mind?" I whispered annoyed. Tommy had fallen asleep a few minutes ago and I didn't want to wake him up.

Zoe and Grayson looked up from their spots. We were inside a steel room that was filled with beds in either side of the walls. For all I knew this was the headquarters for a long lost cult that made its members commit mass suicide. Or at least it eerily resembled one. Bar had led us to the entrance, literally a whole on the ground, in the middle of the dessert. And even though the place crept the shit out of me I was glad for the cover it provided.

"What's wrong?" Grayson asked me protectively.

"He keeps staring at me," I said without taking my eyes away from Bar. It was almost impossible, as he stabbed me with his pitch black eyes.

Bar gave me a faint smile as he sat up from his bed. "You are so interesting, Reegan."

He dragged the syllables of my name, making me shiver. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea following him. Suddenly our safe haven seemed like a mousetrap.

"Unfortunately, I need to leave." He seemed really bumped out about the prospect of leaving us, which made no sense at all.

"Where are you going?" I couldn't help myself. He looked at me with a grin on his face.

"Back to my job. There are new recruits that need to be handled and Gabe...Well, he probably has already figured out I am hiding those two," he motioned toward Zoe and Tommy.

"But you are not going to tell him where we are." It wasn't a question, even though I couldn't be sure of his intentions my gut was telling me I was right. For whatever reason he seemed to want us all to himself. I just hoped it was better to the alternative.

"Clever girl," he commented and inched closer to me. Grayson jumped from his spot and stood between us, the angel sword in his hand. "Easy there, Grayson," Bar said almost laughing.

He insisted on dragging the syllables of our names. It almost seemed like he had never called any one by their names. Anyone but Gabe. The thought of the white angel scared me. I didn't want him anywhere near Zoe or Tommy.

I placed my hand on Grayson's shoulder and he relaxed. "What is your plan, Bar?" I dragged his name too and he seemed delighted by the fact.

"I still don't have one," the honesty of his answer muted me. "But I know that you need to stay here until I return. Understood?"

I nodded slowly and he seemed content.

After he left us all alone I turned to the others. "Get some rest. We are leaving in a few hours," I said and they nodded reluctantly.

No matter what his motives were, I would never trust an angel, even one that saved us.
