Jeno entered the train, scanning the seats. Almost all were empty except for a couple of students in a group near the front of the subway car he chose. Though, none of them were some of Jeno's closest friends. Waving to them, he walked to an empty seat near the center of the car. Another thing that caught his eye was a girl sitting in the back of the subway car with a jacket wrapped around her. He guessed that she was another student on her way to school; however, he couldn't see her uniform under the jacket she used as a blanket.

Jeno took a seat in the middle of both areas, sitting his backpack on his lap and staring out the window. Occasionally, a kid or two would walk onto the subway train at a brief stop. Jeno recalled from previous years that there never were too many kids using this train. It was usually for those that lived on the outskirts of the city and needed a quick way in. Once you boarded the second train, it was a bit more crowded as most of the kids used it.

The final train station was in walking distance of the school. It was a big school and many kids went there since it's a large city. Jeno went to this schooling system throughout his whole life. He knew most of the people as he grew up there and was included in an outgoing group of people. Even so, it was almost impossible to know everyone since it was very common to see a lot of new faces entering the school as well.

Jeno hated where he lived. The city he lived in was dirty and had many untrustworthy people. He always knew that as soon as he graduates, he's leaving to a better place. The subway made Jeno the most uncomfortable. He guessed that not all large cities were like this, but it was one of the saddest places to walk through. The tunnels were patrolled by police and they would sometimes ride through the trains as well to try to keep it safe, but you could never get rid of everything. The mornings weren't so bad, but in the afternoon is when it's about its worst.

Drug addicts, drug dealers, beggars, the homeless, and the sick. It was sad to see it all. These people got themselves into situations that they can't get out of. The feeling of paranoia would haunt your mind as you pass eyes that lingered a little too long, random strangers that didn't seem too friendly sitting next to you, people spewing nonsense and walking through the train cars. You never really know if you're safe.

Just thinking about it made Jeno shiver. What parent would let their kids travel the subway alone?

The train came to the stop where the students had to leave. Jeno stood and glanced back at the girl still leaned against the window. Her eyes were closed as if she was sleeping. Jeno glanced at the other kids getting their stuff to leave. He walked over to the girl and gently shook her shoulder.
"Is this your stop?" Jeno asked.

The girl's eyes flew open at Jeno. She flinched away from his touch, making him draw his hand back in surprise.

"Is this stop Choji?" she asked him in a tired voice, but her eyes scanned Jeno in suspicion.

Jeno nodded. "To get on Train G. Are you headed to school?"

As she stood, she gathered her jacket in her hands and picked up her bag from the ground. Jeno noticed her school uniform. The girl nodded, sliding passed him and out the doors.

Jeno shook off the weird impression and made his way to the next train. He could see the others walking a few steps ahead of him. As they continued on, Jeno plugged in his earbuds to his phone and began to listen to his playlist. In these subway tunnels, it wasn't so much in the morning when homeless people would set out a blanket and board to beg for money, but one would find the occasion few as they pressed on to the next ride.

Jeno stood at the stop, waiting for the train to pull in along with the other students.
