Hello, Cal here! Once again, taking over for Admin! I am now writing a new story! A Tribe AU of How To Train Your Dragon! I've never done this before, so I hope all goes well! This is for Snapmite1998 ! I hope you will like this! Just so you know, I don't own How To Train Your Dragon! I only own the story idea! A couple of my OCs will appear in this story, so I hope you like it!

Long ago, in ancient times, wolves have conquered the Earth as we know it. Some legends say that humans are descendants of wolves. No one really knows for sure, until now. There is a place where wolves supposedly live, called Wolf's Edge. No human has ever been there, it has said that the wolves reign supreme there, and they are led by not just an Alpha, but a King and his Queen. Some say that the King has fur that's as black as night itself, while the Queen has fur that's white as snow. Of course, no one really knows for sure, because no one has ever seen these two wolves. The legends say that a mighty hero will soon join these two wolves and bring peace to their village and to Wolf's Edge. Who knows?

~Harper's POV, 10 Years Ago, Harper's Age: 10~
I blink open my green eyes, rubbing the sleep out of them. I hear my mother's voice, then I hear my father's. They're arguing again, I know it. I can see my father's beard from where I sit, at the edge of my cot, watching him and my mother. I can't hear what they're saying though, it's too muffled at this point. Finally, it stops, and all I see is my father storming out of the tent in a rage. My mother's on the floor, crying. I walk up slowly towards her.

"Mom?" I ask. She turns to me, her green eyes meeting my own. She wraps her arms around me, pulling me into her chest. My father's the Chief of our tribe, but for some reason, it hasn't helped our family much that he's going out hunting. Soon, when I'm older, I know I will have to take his place. But how? How am I supposed to take my father's place if he sees me as a failure? My mother cradles me to her chest, smiling softly.

"Have you heard the legend of our tribe, Harper?" My mother asks. I nod. Of course, I've heard of it. The Chief, my father, and the elders told the stories to me and the rest of the tribe children. The story of Wolf's Edge, and the King and Queen that ruled there. Some have said that the wolves have either been pushed out of their world, to go somewhere else to live, others have said that the wolves have been killed by Hunters. My mother and my father told me about how if someone were to find the wolves, it would bring peace. Peace between our tribe and the wolf pack. I just hope that it will work. The problem is, how are we going to find the wolves from the legend?

~Somewhere in the Enchanted Forest, 10 Years Later, Normal POV, Harper's Age: 20~
A black wolf opens his green eyes, looking around. He winces, as he looks at his side, realizing that he's in a trap, his leg caught. Blinking, he flicks his tail.

'Lira,' he calls out, in panic and fear. 'Lira, where are you?' The bushes rustle at his side, and he turns his head to see a white wolf with blue eyes walking up to him.

'Toothless,' she says, running up to him, and rubbing noses with him. 'My love, let's take a look at that leg.' She looks down at his leg, the blood having dried a bit. Before she can move, at all, a twig snaps, and she gets in a defensive position, standing over Toothless, snarling, her lip curled.

'Who's there?' She calls out. 'Show yourself.' The bushes rustle, and a young man with auburn hair and green eyes, looking roughly around twenty, walks out. Toothless' tail flicks, and wraps around his mate, pulling her closer. The man is wearing tribal robes, followed by a necklace that looks like that would belong on a Chief's neck. His boots make small crunching sounds on the ground.

'Who are you? My mate just asked a question.' Toothless says, keeping his defensive posture. The man blinks his green eyes, and pushes his robe aside to reveal a knife. Both Toothless and Lira snarl, their lips pulled back to reveal their fangs. They watch the man carefully, as he takes out his knife, but to their surprise, he drops it, then picks it up with his boot, then tosses it in the water. The auburn haired man looks at them, as they let go of their defensive postures.

'You're not here to kill us?' Lira asks. She turns and lets her blue eyes set on her mate. Toothless blinks his green eyes at the man. 'Who are you?' He asks. The man sighs, then says,

"My name is Harper Haddock, I'm the future Chief of the Haddock tribe." Toothless flicks his tail. His eyes look at his mate for a second, then turns back to Harper.

'You look young to be Chief,' he says. 'How old are you, young man?' He lies down on his belly, flicking the tip of his tail. Harper blinks his eyes, then gulps. He's surprised to be talking to wolves, especially one that's in a trap.

"I'm twenty summers old." He says. He looks at the bear trap, and walks closer. Lira bares her teeth, the back of her snow-white fur rising.

'What are you doing?' She asks. Harper looks at her. He reaches into the water to grab his knife. He turns to the snow-white wolf, meeting her blue eyes with his own green.

"Don't worry," he says. "I'm not gonna hurt him. I'm just gonna get him out. I promise." He looks the white she-wolf in the eyes. Lira narrows her eyes, but lets the fur on her back and neck fall flat. Harper nods, then crouches next to the black wolf. He then uses the knife to push in between the jaws of the trap, being careful not to let it touch Toothless' leg. He clicks his tongue, as he continues, until the jaws snap open, letting Toothless free. The black wolf lifts his leg, the blood dried. He meets the eyes of the human.

"'You're human,' he says. 'I don't understand. Why not kill me?' Harper sucks in a breath.

"My family believes in the legend of Wolf's Edge, and the King and Queen, the Alpha Pair," he explains. "My father is gone, and my mom can't handle the job of leading the tribe on her own. As firstborn, and the only son, I have to take his place. But not now. I don't think I'm responsible enough." Toothless turns to Lira, flicking his tail.

'What if we told you you're standing in front of the King and Queen from the legend?' He asks. Harper's eyes widen.

~Harper's POV~
Unbelievable! I am actually standing in front of the King and Queen from the legend! Holy shit! Toothless turns to me.

(Key: Italics are Toothless and Lira talking.)

'Thank you for saving my life, Harper Haddock,' Toothless says to me. 'But you must leave. Don't worry, I'll heal from my wounds. You must get home before the matriarch finds out her son is gone.' I blink in shock.

"How did you know?" I ask. Lira blinks her eyes.

'We know because you're the descendants of the wolves that used to live here,' she says. 'Think about it, Harper. The legend is real. Go, and get home.' I blink again, before I leave, walking back home.

I can't believe I met them in person! Toothless and Lira, the King and Queen of wolves. But I have this gut feeling that this is only just the beginning.....

Woo, that was long! Well, I hope you like it, Snapmite1998   What should I do next? Any ideas?????
