Don't be careless.

This is highly important when dealing with a Clan crisis. If your Clan is infected with Greencough and you're off sleeping in your den, slacking off, it would be your fault for many deaths. Below are some tips on what and what NOT to do when your Clan is under a serious issue.

-

1) - Make sure you're prepared.
You need to be prepared for anything. A battle, a sickness, a birth, everything.
Make sure you have enough herbs in stock in case something did happen, so you don't have to worry about finding stale or dead herbs.

2) - Keep a close eye on your Clan.
You need to make sure that there aren't any signs of sickness going around, and if there is, you need to act fast before it spreads to other cats.

3) - Tell your leader everything.
If you think something is wrong, or you receive a prophecy, make sure the first cat you tell is your leader. You, as a medicine cat, must hold the responsibility of caring for your Clan, and you can exceed at this if you let your leader know what's going on with his or her Clan.

4) - Stay away from the battle.
Your Clan cannot risk having you be dead, especially if you don't have an apprentice. Deaths of medicine cat mentors can leave the medicine cat apprentice in deep frustration and leave him or her vulnerable to what's going on. Even if your Clan-mates are injured, don't go fleeing into the middle of the battle to treat them. Either drag them away stealthily or wait.

5) - Tend to the ones who are worse.
Make sure you help an elder who has Greencough before you help an apprentice with a cut pad. If you've already tried your hardest to help the cat with Greencough, then it's fine if you go and help the apprentice, but if your infected cat is struggling and hasn't had his or her daily herbs, then you should do that before anything else.

6) - Don't ever give up.
If you give up on your job, your apprentice (if you have one) will be left to struggle and manage a ton of priorities by him or herself, and your Clan will be left with no faith and will probably fall weak and crippled in sickness. If you give up on a patient, they will most likely die. If you tried your best to cure them, however, yet they still die, you at least won't have to live with the fact you basically gave up on them and their life.
