It's Satuday and I am here with the next update😀😀😀. Apologies for the delay but I was caught up with my work. So here goes the first story update of this weekend.

As soon as Sonakshi saw Tina she was left tongue-tied, she was probably the last person she was expecting to meet while at the same time everyone looked at Sonakshi, confusion clearly etched on their faces seeing the unknown person in their room. All the while Tina was looking keenly at Sonakshi, she felt as if she had seen the girl standing before them earlier but could not remember where it was. Everyone was silent when Sonakshi decided to break the silence, she could understand that nobody in the room seemed to know her.

"Hi I am Sonakshi, Actually the nurse just told me that the person who informed them about my Dad's deteriorating health is here, I wanted to meet and thank him" she said with a smile as everyone absorbed the information, just then Tina seemed to remember who the person was. It was the same girl who had shouted at Dev on the Ferry the other day, in fact it was same girl because of whom Dev's life was in a mess and he had lost all his relations as anger surged through her.

"Yes, it was our friend Dev who had informed the Doctor and helped your father" said Tina curtly which caught Sonakshi by surprise but the very next moment she looked at them perplexed, did she hear right? Did the girl just say Dev had helped her father?

"What did you say? Dev??" she asked clearly befuddled

"Yes Dev, the same Dev whom you had shouted upon that day in the ferry. The same person whose life is in a mess because of you. Aren't you satisfied that you have come here as well?" asked Tina in anger as Ranveer gestured to keep her calm while at the same Bunty seemed to remember as well who Sonakshi was.

"Aren't you the same girl who had slapped Dev that day at the Pub?" said Bunty and added "Yes, in fact now I remember it was you"

As Sonakshi heard them she was bubbling with anger, though Dev had helped her father she could not fathom the fact the it was him, the person whom she hated to the core, the person who had deceived her best friend and was troubling her from the past few days.

"If it was Dev then it would have been better had he not helped my father at all" she said in an angry tone as everyone looked at her incredulously, they could not believe that the girl hated Dev so much that she was not ready to take any help from him, even it concerned her father health.

"What do you think of yourself, Do you believe Dev is such a bad person that he does not deserve to help your father?" asked Tina in a high pitch as Ranveer held her hand trying to calm her down.

"Oh, you might have forgiven the person who betrayed you after impregnating you with his child but I am not so forgiving Madam" said Sonakshi sarcastically as everyone looked at her surprised, unable to understand what she was alluding to.

"What are you talking about?" asked Tina, confusion clearly etched in her voice as it was Sonakshi's turn to look at Tina disbelievingly.

"Are you serious? You don't even remember what I am talking about? I am talking about that day when you and Dev were arguing about your pregnancy while he just denied any knowledge about it and dumped you" said Sonakshi as Tina's confusion increased but then it dawned on to her what Sonakshi was talking about as she slapped her head.

"Oh you are talking about that. Oh my God, I cannot believe that you actually thought Dev had impregnated me" she said as Sonakshi looked at her in confusion while Tina added "Actually, I am a small time actress and that day I had an audition for a role but was very nervous, so Dev was just trying to ease my nervousness and helping me rehearse the scene for my audition" she finished as Sonakshi looked gobsmacked as she heard that, never in her wild dreams could she imagine this was the truth and she had misunderstood them.

"If you start believing whatever you hear then that day would not be far when you do some terrible mistake & destroy someone's life madam, in fact you already have done it with Dev" said Bunty as Sonakshi was left speechless unable to process the information that she had just been told, but then she remembered how Dev tried to betray Natasha and her family.

"Ok, even if I believe that he did not betray you. He tried to deceive my friend and her family. In fact, he is betraying his own family as well. What will you like to say about this?" said Sonakshi as everyone looked at each other, they knew it was better to tell Sonakshi the truth else she would continue misunderstanding Dev and have misgivings about him.

"He did not want to betray anyone, but the circumstances compelled him to lie to his family. In fact, he said the truth to your friend as well and thought that she was ready for the relationship, but little did he know that she had slept when he was saying it and did not hear anything that he told her" said Ranveer as Sonakshi looked perplexed listening to him and what truth Ranveer was alluding to.

"What's the truth you are talking about?" asked Sonakshi as Ranveer spoke about the past which forced Dev to lie.

Four years ago, Dev arrived in America with the dream to become a software professional, he had completed a couple of courses in India and was working at a small-time company in India but his mother Ishwari had dreamt about making him a successful software professional though he did not want to leave them and go abroad. But Ishwari's stubbornness coupled with her ill health because of Dev's resistance forced him to bow down before his mother and he agreed to her. Though they were an upper middle-class family yet bearing the burden of Dev's education in the US was still a very costly affair and that's when Dev's parents sold some of their ancestral land for his education which added an extra burden as well responsibility on Dev's shoulders for the sacrifices his parents had made for him, with the hope of fulfilling his mother's dream he left for the US.

Our friend Jatin Verma used to stay with us that time, he had come to US for a six-month course before taking up his family construction business. Dev's father's friend was a friend of Jatin's father. He had assured Dev's father that Jatin would help Dev initially to settle down in US before returning to India and that was how Dev was first introduced to Jatin.

The day Dev arrived Jatin went to pick him up from the Airport and both clicked in an instant, As they were exiting the airport to catch a cab Jatin suddenly fainted holding his head as panic struck Dev, he did not know what to do at that moment as he was new as well to the place and did not know how the systems worked here. He requested a few people who called the ambulance as Jatin was rushed to the hospital.

Jatin was rushed to the emergency ward as using Jatin's phone Dev had called up his flatmates and that was how he met Ranveer and Bunty who were Jatin's flatmates. As they arrived Dev apprised them of the situation as they waited for the Doctor to inform them about Jatin's condition hoping that he would be hale and hearty as before. As the Doctor came out of the ward the Trio rushed to her for knowing about their friend.

The Doctor informed them that Jatin was suffering from a rare Brain condition and an immediate operation was required else it could turn fatal as the Trio looked gobsmacked at the turn of the events. The doctor asked them about Jatin's insurance details as the operation was going to be a costly affair but since Jatin was in the US just for six months he had no insurance which Ranveer informed to them as the Doctor looked at them in pity and informed that the without the advance for the operation they could not start it as everyone was left stunned. Ranveer and Bunty tried to check their savings but still it was no where near to the amount that was required for the operation.

It was then that Dev decided to help Jatin, he took out the amount of around 30000 dollars that he had brought with him for his education and handed it over to the Doctor and asked her to start the operation. As the Doctor left Ranveer and Bunty turned towards Dev teary eyed and thanked him for helping their friend as Dev stopped them from doing so and said that maybe it was God's wish and probably this was reason he was sent to America as his dream of fulfilling his mother's dream crashed but he was not disappointed instead he was happy that he could help someone.

The operation was successful and, in a few days, Jatin's health improved as he came to know about Dev's help, he thanked him immensely as Dev just dismissed it and asked him to get better soon. After Jatin's health improved completely he left for India with a promise to Dev that in life if he needed any help then he will be there to help him out.

After Jatin left Dev started working at the same Pub where Bunty was working and started staying with them, though Bunty and Ranveer had asked Dev to tell the truth at his home Dev denied it for he knew it would break his mother's heart and dream, she would not be able to handle it and decided to lie for her sake. Even Jatin had asked Dev to come back to India and start working with him but Dev denied it giving him the same reason as he had given to Ranveer and Bunty. Though he was working in a pub still he was hopeful that one day he would be able to fulfil his mother's dream.

As Sonakshi heard Ranveer she was left speechless, guilt was gnawing her from within that she had misunderstood him but then she had her doubts especially with whatever she had seen of Dev till now. She was not sure whether to believe them or not, just then she heard someone say.

"What they are saying is the truth Sonakshi" said the person as Sonakshi looked towards her and was surprised to see her.

"Naina, how do you know?" asked Sonakshi looking at the person who was none other than Naina Das, Ritwik's wife and Sonakshi's friend. She worked at the same hospital where Ranveer was admitted and had heard Ranveer when he was speaking about Dev's past.

"Because I was the Doctor who had operated Jatin" said Naina as Sonakshi was left astounded, never could she think this to be the truth, though the situation was such that she believed what she saw yet knowing the truth now left her befuddled. She had misunderstood Dev without knowing the whole truth which in turn damaged his relationship with his family. Tears glistened her eyes as she turned quiet. She could now make sense of why Dev was behaving weirdly with her in the past few days.

"You have badly misunderstood him Sonakshi" said Naina as her guilt increased

"But why did Dev not inform anyone in his family about this?" she asked as Tina replied "Because his mother will not be able to bear the truth that Dev is not working as a software professional here" as Sonakshi turned quiet once again.

After some time, she got up to leave and find Dev so that she could apologize to him. As she exited the room she came face to face with the person she wanted to meet, it was DEV who had just returned with the medicines needed to Ranveer.

As both looked at each other they were quiet. While Sonakshi did not how to initiate the conversation especially now that she knew unknowingly she had wronged him Dev did not want to start talking with her as he felt they would end up arguing and he did not want to do that at the hospital, he was about to leave when Sonakshi spoke.

"CAN WE HAVE A CUP OF COFFEE?"
