As I try to conjure the best possible direction for V169 , I thought this would be a good idea.

B.I.T for BackInTime

Every once in a while I will publish these chapters that will explain and divulge a bit more about V169. Of course they will be filled with lots of action too, I mean what's a Vanguard Vixen chapter without some sort of fight or ending that leads to one?

So, here's the first B.I.T for you;
Vote if you love it, comment why and the same if otherwise...
"We have another task for you V169."

Vivian narrowed her eyes at that. She had just returned from her last mission in London. The story was even still live on the large screens distributed throughout the Harbor. The assassination of the London Prime Minister.

To Vivian he had only been target 16.

The Commander had waited for her to process that and then continued.

"Your kind have gone rogue. The other vixens, 168 in total have all taken off their i-watches. We stopped 165 of them with nano technology before they got far but the three got away. We have no way of finding them except for the carnage they leave behind."

He handed a tablet to her with pictures, and then a video clip at the end. There was a line of soldiers—Vanguard soldiers, that had been made to kneel with their hands on their heads. Three vixens executed them without remorse. Vivian wasn't focused on them but on the surroundings.

"They are headed towards the dark route."

"Yes. We want you to intercept them, before the dark route gets itself the second most dangerous weapons in the world. Second to you of course."

Vivian had to make sure.
"Intercept?"

"Terminate. They are...faulty. Damaged, not fit for duty."

Vivian flicked through the pictures again.

"I see they still have custom weapons. Can any of these fatally harm me?"

The Commander laughed nervously."You're our best V169, we wouldn't give another vixen a weapon that can kill you."

She knew he was lying. But she would handle that later.
"Once I finish this, it makes me the last one alive. If I find any trace of nano-weapons in this place I will tear it down floor by floor, person by person."

"I have no doubt on that. I will tell the President about your condition."

Vivian stood up to leave, then stopped and turned to the Commander."One more thing. Is my bike ready?"

"Hangar 9E. Took them a while to add your requirements but they fit it all in there. Good luck Viv, these aren't the normal targets."

Her eyes carried across a warning as she replied. "And I am not the normal predator. Remember that."

There. He wouldn't say she didn't warn them.

In addition to the vertical elevators that carried personnel up and down across the ninety three floors of the Harbor, there were horizontal elevators that took them from one end to the other. The Harbor was wide almost as much as it was high, so every ten floors there was a horizontal elevator that travelled along a set rail path around the end of the floors, between the wings and the centre.

Vivian went into one of these, and as the elevators were right at the edge of the floors it gave a beautiful view to the broken world outside. She was on the ninety third floor, moving from the centre to the east wing.

There were nine hangars every ten floors on either wing of the harbor. They carried the light aircraft like drones, and the smaller fighter jets. There was a heliport at the roof of course with a hangar of its own that housed a dozen or so helicopters for when they were needed.

Vivian wasn't a fan of aircraft. Heights weren't the problem no, since throughout her training they made her jump from the back of a jet without a parachute. It was because aircrafts put her targets much farther away than she preferred, and they made their occupants easy targets too.

She preferred the silent, lone and personal hunts.

She stepped off the elevator onto the east wing of the  Harbor. Men and women in white lab coats with the Vanguard army logo were either crowded around screens arguing about mechanical images or they were working on others. The wings of the Harbor literally made the wings of Vanguard. All the flying toys were made along them, except for those "special" ones down below, in the hidden bunkers below the known four bunkers. Which were also hidden, which made the hidden two... You get the point.

Vivian took the other elevator to get her to the ninetieth floor which would be the hangar 9E. There was a guard at the mechanical doors, which Vivian didn't think was necessary, but since the AI's everything electronic was only part automated.

Vivian placed her palm on the glass plate as an orb shone a retina scanner into her eye. The guard gave her a packet that contained a cotton swab. She raised an eyebrow at him. Everyone who worked at the Harbor knew who she was.

"Sorry ma'am. Its protocol. Its the only job I have and if anything goes wrong, surely you understand."

Vivian opened her mouth and let him gently rub it around the inside of her cheek. He placed it into the small compartment beside the glass plate. They waited for five seconds of awkward silence after which all three tests proved positive. Even on her identity data she was only referred to as V169.

The doors opened and the motion sensors in the walls turned the lights on. Like all high level floors, Vivian heard the machines whirring within the walls as she moved. Weapons trained on whatever moved, just in case.

Each item in storage was shielded by tinted one way glass. Except for the one that contained her bike.

"Reece, come over here."

The guard looked around, then realised she was speaking to him.

She knew his name, and she was speaking to him.

The full impact of those words hit him like a freight train. V169  never spoke to anyone as far as they all knew.

He stammered as he pointed to himself.

"Me?"

She rolled her eyes.

His eyes widened even more at that unexpected gesture.

She rolled her eyes.

He jogged to cover the distance between them. She was examining the motorcycle on the other end of the only clear glass in the room.

"Have you ever killed someone?"

"Not really no, I've held this gun but never used it."

"That's good. Good for you. I hope you never do, for your own sake."

She paused and inhaled deeply, closing her eyes.

"They  haunt me sometimes, when my resolve weakens even the slightest bit. Their lifeless eyes, their silent hearts. So...unnatural. Yet they deserve to die, I think. Or so am told."

"V16-"

She interrupted him before he could finish."The name is Vivian."

He almost laughed.

Vivian. The most dangerous person alive was called Vivian.

She had opened her eyes then and had seen the amusement play across his face. He quickly turned serious.

"I have as much right to a normal human name as you do  Reece. Vivian and V169 are two different things, today you've met one. The other you may not live long enough to recognise if you meet her. I wonder if it will be funny then."

He quickly looked in his head for something that would keep him with his head attached to his body.

"You are human, just as we are."

It was her turn to laugh.

"Yes, I do have a...let's say human heart, and a human brain. Human skin, bones and all that. But never for one second should you think that I am human."

Her eyes glowed white and Reece stepped back quickly, falling onto his butt. And he was sure, a hundred percent sure that she walked through the glass as though it wasn't there and sat onto the motorcycle.

It recognized her when she pressed her thumb onto the ignition pad. She turned and smiled at him, the blank eyes relaying the opposite of what she was saying.

"Nice to meet you Eric Reece."

Then she rode the machine though the glass of the window to the outside, which shattered with an ear piercing sound.

Several alarms started blaring.
When the guards came in they found him, still rooted to the same spot, staring at the broken glass.

Right where she had driven off the ninetieth floor.

Sadly, that is where I stop for this one. Yeah, um, there is a reason why its called a B.I.T  apart from its full form.

You only have to ingest a bit at a time, or you might um...lose it like *Eric* Reece above there.

Anyway take it like one of those Turana visions. Some info here will help us understand the next chapters.

Finally, unless you prefer me to first send the vixen after you,(that is once I understand how she pulled of such a stunt) please leave a vote.
And a comment!
Thanks for reading!
