How to Vote by knightsrachel

Welcome to 2020! The year of constant adjustments and unexpected twists and turns.

Amidst this crazy year, it's election time. And with all of the changes 2020 has offered, election day is no different.

While like me, you may be used to going to the poll on election day, waiting in line with your friends and neighbors, and casting your ballot after some hard deliberation, COVID has raised some voting concerns.

And so you may be wondering, what is the best way to vote in 2020? Maybe you don't feel safe being amongst the voting day crowds, or maybe you don't like the pressure of the choices that election day brings.

Well you've definitely come to the right place to flesh out your options. Whether this is your fifth election or your very first, we're here to guide you the entire way. Non-partisan of course!

I'm here to give you a brief overview, however you'll find the breakdown throughout these chapters to truly figure out what path is right for you.

The first option, everyone is familiar with. It's the picture everyone takes on election day, with their I Voted sticker in front of the polling station. Everyone in the United States has an assigned location that they can report to on Election Day to cast their ballot. You'll have to check your voter's registration to see where yours is, but November 3rd is that day, folks!

The next option has been popularized through the COVID pandemic. And that's the mail-in ballot (or the absentee ballot). The how-to specifics will be discussed further along in the block party, but from the comfort of your home you can research the amendments, decide on your presidential candidate, and mail in your ballot through the United States Postal Service.

But don't worry, that's not all. We also have early voting! There are fewer early voting stations than there are election day polling stations, so you'll have to check your local listings to see what locations work best for you. But with this option, you can head to the polls as early as this week and cast your vote, ensuring that it's ready to go for November 3rd.

Did you know in 2016 only 55% of registered voters cast their ballots? We're here to teach and inform you on all of your rights and options as a registered voter. Your voice matters! And we want to hear what you have to say.
