Location: Metropolis

Metropolis; a lively city that has a lower crime rate than its sister city Gotham thanks to its hero, Superman. The sky was covered by dark clouds that had little droplets of rain, fall to the city below. This rain was pouring onto the streets and the sidewalks, the sound of puddles splashing due to civilians walking through the wet sidewalks. Cars splash water onto the sidewalks due to the tires; umbrellas were used to protect the people from the storm. People rode the buses to get to their next destination without dealing walking through the rainfall. One man walked through the pouring without an umbrella, only having a hood covering his head; some of the man's hair poked out from the hood. People just looked at the man walking down the sidewalk, mostly staring at the tail protruding from his pants. He didn't stop walking to acknowledge the stares, it was like he was used to this kind of behavior from people. This person kept walking in downtown Metropolis until he reached the suburbs, the moment he reached a certain address, the man stared at the house for a minute until he walked up to the door.

The man took off his hood revealing his black spikey hair which kinda stood up but it tilted to his right, he has three bangs hanging to the right of his forehead and three bangs hanging to the left. The man had dark-colored eyes and a light-pale skin complexion. The moment he knocked on the door and an audible "gulp" could be heard from him. It took a while until he heard the door creaked, it slowly opened revealing a woman. She had light-blue eyes, red hair. The moment she saw the man, she had a shocked expression on her face, and tears fell from her eyes.

Red-Haired Woman: "Zach... I can't believe it! It's you!" She tried to hold back the tears but failed to do so.

Zach: "Yeah, it's Amanda. It's been a couple of years." A small chuckle came from him.

Amanda: "Yes it had! Why didn't you call or write?!" Her look of happiness disappeared which became a look of disappointment.

Zach: "Sorry..." A frown appeared on his face.

Amanda: "Years! Years since we last talked, it's bad enough Bentley ghosted us when he joined the X-Men. But now you've done it. Where were you?" Amanda crossed her arms waiting for an answer?

Zach: "I've been traveling the world, like a nomad. I had no money, nor a way of communicating with anyone. I've been studying under various teachers to improve my fighting. Learned various martial arts and even boxing techniques." He groaned. "I even had to improve my intelligence since brains and brawn work better together."

Amanda: "Why? There is no reason for you to do that, we have plenty of heroes in this world protecting us from danger."

The rainfall got worse, Zach looked up in the sky seeing that rain isn't going to let up soon.

Zach: "Can we continue this talk in the house? The rain is getting pretty bad." Zach had a small chuckle following after he spoke.

Amanda: "Sure." That was the only word Amanda would say, she lets her foster brother into the house.

The moment Zach got in the house, he took off the soaking wet green hoodie. After taking it off, Zach was wearing a tight black shirt which showed his muscular features.

Zach: "Where should I put this?" He asked his foster sister. She pointed to a bin where he puts the wet hoodie in. "Thanks... So how was life for you while I was gone? Since you didn't have to take care of me anymore I bet things were easier."

Amanda: "Not fun... I've been struggling with college and work, but the nightmare finally ended. I got my degree in art and I've found some promising work. Even got engaged to a wonderful person. Will you be showing up to the wedding?" She asked.

Zach: "Of course, congratulations by the way. Sorry I wasn't here through those dark times. I've dealt with some dark times myself, questioning my faith in humanity ever since people would tease me about my tail. But my faith was restored thanks to heroes like Captain America and Superman. Even though Superman isn't human, he still brings people hope." A sigh escaped his lips.

Amanda: "I know people have been mean to you all your life, I'm just glad you're giving people a second chance. Mom and dad would want that, they want us all to be happy. So why did you study martial arts?" Asking her brother with a curious expression on her face.

Zach: "I felt like I had to, I need to be able to protect those who I care deeply for. I have all these powers and I couldn't even save mom and dad from dying. I need to be strong for my loved ones." His face hung low.

Amanda: "Zachary, you don't need to push yourself so hard for us. We will get through the roughest times as a family." A smile appeared on her face.

Zach: "Thanks..." Zach then noticed something weird, he heard people outside screaming. He went over to the door and opened it, seeing the rain blowing in the wind. It was more violent, strong winds were blowing.

People were running downing the street, terrified expressions were planted on their faces. Zach walked out and he could feel the intensity of the wind, he looked up in the sky seeing a giant creature was walking through downtown Metropolis. The clouds covered the creature's body making it hard to see, Amanda came out from the house.

Amanda: "Zach, get back in the house!" She shouted to her brother.

Zach: "Get back in the house!" He shouted to Amanda, giving her the look to go back into the house. "What the hell is that thing?" Zach had a curious expression planted on his face.

Cars were sliding in the streets due to the extreme wind, street lamps were ripped out of the ground because of the weather. Some people were pulled from the ground, being thrown around by the wind.

Zach: "What the hell is going on here?" His aura manifests outside of his body in the form of energy. It is white, outlined in a dark blue. His feet slowly float off the ground, he then sped off to the city wondering what the heck was going on.

To Be Continued...
