Meanwhile, Kaito, a good friend of Shinjen's family is unsure of the massacre of Shinjen's brother for he is certain as it was a carefully orchestrated assassination by someone else. After an arduous journey through a convoluted maze among the deep jungles guided by Kaito, the trio arrives at the supposed entry point of the temple as they come across a cave entrance to the famed Jigokuno Mau which roughly translates to Hell's Maw. Nozomi reads an inscription etched on the cave's entrance which reads a warning that 'whosoever travels to the underworld shall leave behind his soul and become an eternal slave to Kagutsuchi'. 

As Nozomi prepares to enter the cave Shinjen forbids it and volunteers himself much to Nozomi's chagrin. Nozomi unable to directly intervene in the deadly quest advises Shinjen that he may require a unique item to face the challenges inside the cave when she offers some of her royal blood in an earthen jar.
