I walked up to the dock I was a few minutes early. I checked my phone to make sure the message sent, it had. I asked him to meet me here, but I couldn't be sure that he would. I lit a joint and put my feet into the water. After a few minutes I saw the headlights pull in. I layed back on the grass taking in the fresh air and closed my eyes. I could hear the footsteps get closer. By the time I opened my eyes he was already sitting beside me.

"Hey Allie. What can I do for you?" Jordan's eyes looked so forgiving as he stared down at me.

"I was with Allie the night she disappeared." I say bluntly sitting up looking at him.

"I know you were." I waited for him to continue but he never did.

"Is the investigation ongoing? Or are the questions your asking me and my family personal?" I couldn't hide the tension in my voice.

"Personal, mostly. I just want to know what happened. That night was the entire reason I became a cop to being with Allie, I wanted answers but they never came. I had so many questions about it, so many things that didn't seem to add up, you know?"

"No I don't really know. I never had any questions about that night. I knew what happened. I did my best to avoid the questions, and do my best to make sure things did add up." I said it. I didn't admit anything really, but I knew that I had admitted everything. The only real question I had was, how is he going to react.

"I came to that conclusion. About three years after you left I really started looking into it. Reading the files and what not. I read your statement and I read your father's statement. What struck me as odd was that your father said he had been trying to stay awake to make sure you made it home, but he said he had fallen asleep waiting. In your statement you said you made it home by 10:35. Why would he have fallen asleep waiting if you got home so early? So then I started thinking why would Allie lie about who she was with? The statement reads that you and Emily left the party early, which is true, but it leaves out the part where Anabell was with you two. I knew for a fact that the three of you left early that night. That's when I ran out of things to question. The night was pretty blank for most people at the party. " He stopped talking and layed back on the grass. "So now Allie I need you to tell me what happened. I can't help you if you don't tell me."

"Are you going to arrest me now?" I couldn't help ask, I knew the answer but I needed to hear him say it out loud.

"No. I never planned on arresting you Allie. I want you to stay here, and if that means I have to help protect you then so be it." My heart was no longer beating. I still wasn't sure that I had heard him correctly.

"Jordan I need you to be serious right now." It's all I could say.

"Allie I'm being dead serious. I'm not arresting you I just need to know how to keep you safe."
