YNs' POV:

On the deck of the Ghost Bounty, it's utter chaos. Ghosts and ninja are fighting everywhere you look, flashes of color against ghostly green. The battle isn't helped by the gigantic tentacles of the Preeminent that lay across the deck, only to suddenly lash out and toss an unsuspecting fighter into the air. She doesn't seem to care if her victims are friend or foe, for as you watch, she picks up two ghosts and throws them, wailing, over the side.

Then you see a tentacle slither towards Jay, who seems to be faring a little better than the other ninja.

"It's just like a video game!" He shouts excitedly. "You've got to time it right!" He waits until the tentacle is nearly upon him, then he jumps straight up and brings his Aeroblade down hard into the Preeminent's fleshy arm. He doesn't see the second tentacle rearing up behind him until it smacks him in the back of the head and sends him sprawling. Jay sits up, half-stunned and blinking hard, trying to clear his head. The tentacle attacks him, and he parries it.

"Back! Back, I say!"

It lifts up, ready to slam down onto Jays' skull, when you react. You vault over another tentacle, and, realizing that you won't make it in time, decide to throw your staff like a spear. You take aim and launch it. It hurtles through the air and intercepts the arm mid-strike, knocking it away from Jay. The staff clatters onto the deck.

Jay stares at you, still a little cross-eyed. "Thanks! Glad to see you're okay."

"I'm glad for that, too." You smile wryly. "So. Like a video game, huh? I'm going to try that." You whirl around and jump onto an arm that's been inching up behind you, and you let it throw you towards where your staff fell. You shoulder-roll through a tangle of tentacles and grab your weapon, then thrust it into the midst of the seething mass. They recoil from the Deepstone-inlaid staff for one vital moment, allowing you to leap out of the cluster again.

You run over to Kai, who's struggling to keep about a half-dozen tentacles at bay. You whip out your spiked bolas and whirl them around you as you stand beside him, allowing him to get his breath back. He gives you a grateful look, panting slightly.

"Oh yeah! YN's back, baby!" Jay yells out triumphantly.

"WHAT?!" Bansha materializes near you and gives a screech of rage, swinging her double-bladed sword at your head. Suddenly, Ghoul-Tar pops up and catches her blade in the crook of his scythe.

"BAD BANSHA!!!" He roars. He places himself in between you and her. "You no hurt girl!"

"I second that." Morros' smooth voice cuts through the noise of the battle, and he stares levelly at her, unblinking, an unspoken threat in his eyes.

"And I as well." Wrayth floats beside Morro, giving Bansha a hard look.

"I would expect this kind of treachery from you, Ghoul-Tar, but Wrayth..."

"It isn't just them." Another ghost interrupts. He goes and stands by you, flashing you a reassuring smile. One by one, ghosts abandon the fight and pick a side. The Preeminent becomes still, perhaps sensing the magnitude of what is taking place. When the choosing is over, the two sides are just about even. That, of course, doesn't include the Preeminent, but you're not counting her.

"I know your deepest desires, Morro. You can see her again. You can become flesh, mortal once more. You can be with your love!" Bansha hisses. "The Preeminent can grant you all of this, and more, if you will only join her again."

"No. There is nothing that either of you could offer me that would make me do that." Morro says firmly. You grab hold of his arm in support of his actions, and he smiles at you.

"Maybe I can change your mind..." Bansha quickly casts a spell over the ship, freezing everyone in place, and grabs his other arm. You are transported through another portal, and then the world turns green.
