Shadow's POV
We sped down the highway into town. I loved the feeling of the wind through my quills. I enjoyed the fact of being able to get it without me having to get all hot and sweaty in order to feel it. Don't get me wrong I love to run but I love doing this also, and by the size of Sonic's grin and his tight grip around my waist I can tell he is enjoying it to.

I knew he didn't remember our anniversary, I could tell it in his voice. He always stutters and tries to defend himself when he lies. I decided to let him by this one time, because i know there has been something on his mind lately that he won't tell me about.

I'll get him to tell me... eventually. Until then though, I just want to enjoy our first year of marriage with the man who made it possible. And besides I had a plan and him not remembering just made this a while lot easier.

We drove for about half an hour when we arrived to first spot on our list, an old run down shack.

"Shadow what are we doing here?" "Oh I just need to pick up something you wait right here and I'll be right back,". I then ran in and walked over to front desk.

A little old lady was sitting behind the desk in a rocking chair petting an old gray and black tabby cat." Hello deary what can I do you for?" She asked in her old granny voice. "Hi, I called earlier and ordered something and they said they would drop it off here?" I asked with almost a whisper making sure Sonic didn't hear.

"Aaw yes I remember! It arrived not to long ago here you wait here a minute and let old granny here go fetch it for you!" The women then got up and disappeared behind a blanket that she used as a curtain.

I stood there tapping my foot impatiently. "Shadow darling is everything alright?What's taking so long?" Sonic's voice sounded eager and impatient I hated making him wait,"Umm everything is fine love I'll be back out in a minute," I hear him groan but reply with an ok.

I sighed with relief. I was glad he didn't walk in and see what I was doing. I then went back to waiting for the old lady," Come on granny how long does it take to fetch a box?" I mumble to myself I was gradually grew more impatient.

As if on cue the old lady finally emerged back from behind the blanket curtain tugging along with her a very large box. "Here you go sonny," she said handing me the box over the counter. " So that is quite the special something in there who's the lucky lady? Is that her outside?," she asks as she heard Sonic humming and walked over to her shop's window.

"My my she's a pretty little thing isn't she? Your a lucky man to get a catch like that," she elbowed me in the ribs which made me loose some of my breath. For an old lady she packs a wallop.

"Yes thank you ma'am he is my husband and me and him will be celebrating our anniversary tonight." I put as much emphasis on the 'he' parts as I could as the old lady first looked at me confused and then looked at Sonic and then back at me then just nodded her head, smiled and walked back to her counter.

"I will never understand old people," I thought to myself as I grabbed the box and walked back outside to meet Sonic.

"Hey Sonikku I'm back you miss me?" "Terribly!... Hey what's in the box ShadyKuu?" He asked and tried to reach for the box to take a peek. "Nah ah! Down boy! You'll see as soon as we get home we still have a few more stops to make first," I put the box in a little bag that I had built into the side of my motorcycle so I could carry stuff like this with ease.

I sat on the seat and revved the engine taking a quick glance at Sonic and seeing he was pouting. "Aww Sonic don't give me that face you'll see well be done with the errands in no time then you can see what's in the box, I promise."

Sonic then perked up at the word he knew that I never broke a promise so he became a lot more excited," Ok then let's hurt up and finish these boring errands!" He chirped and grabbed my waist again. I could help but chuckle at how childish he was acting but I guess that's why I love him so much.

Sonic'c POV
We spent the next hour and a half driving all around town visiting different stops. First we stopped by the grocery store, a clothes shop, then a flower shop, then a jewelry store, then a candle shop, and last a bakery and every single time Shadow always went in, stayed for a minute and came back out always carrying some sort of brow paper sack or a small box.

We finally started to head back home. I was so excited I was still curious about what was in that box. We finally pulled into the garage at about eight at night. He got off the motorcycle and then helped me off.

"Sonikku I need to do something real quick so you go ahead inside and I'll be along in just a few minutes ok?" I looked at him funny and just shrugged my shoulders. I was completely ignorant and to stubborn to see what he was doing here.

So I went inside watched tv, and left to the bathroom. I was gone maybe ten minutes when I came back and saw a brown paper sack with a white piece of paper saying 'WEAR ME!' On it.

I picked up the sack and pulled out a white tux."What's this for?" I wondered to myself. I went into the bathroom and changed.

Shadow's POV
"Phase one completed now for phase two!" I said as I watched Sonic through the window walk back into the bathroom to change.

I picked up a bunch of roses and went inside. I threw their petrels all over the floor creating a trail that led outside leaving a note beside the bathroom door that said 'FOLLOW ME'.

I waited a while and then saw Sonic walk out out of the house flowing the trail of rose petals. I grinned as I watched him. "Excellent phase two accomplished now the final phase needs to be put into effect."

The petals led all the way into the woods and there I sat on a tree stump waiting for him to reach the end of the trail.

Sonic's POV
I had changed into the tux and now I was following the trail of rose petals all the way into the woods, when I came to the end and saw Shadow just sitting there on a tree stump wearing a white tux just like I was.

"Shads what are you up to?" I asked as he stood up and walked over to me. "You want an answer you have to catch me first!" And with that he kissed me on my nose and took off running.

"Hey! Shady come back here!" I yelled and starting chasing him down into the woods.

Shadow's POV
My plan was working perfectly! Sonic was now chasing me into the woods and following every move i made to the tee.

I ran behind a wall of vines with Sonic right on my tail... Literally!

Sonic's POV
I was still running after Shadow when he vanished behind a wall of thick green vines.

"Shady wait! Why won't you tell me what's going on your can't just kiss me and run off like that expect me to floor you it's undignified and it's-(*gasp*) oh my G-O-S-H!"

My hands flew up to my mouth as my eyes began to tear up. I walked in a recognized the place immediately.

This wasn't the first or second time that I had been here but still every time I come here it always takes my breath way. I remembered the first time I was here with Shads and he shared our first kiss, and then the second time I was here I was getting married to him and now here I am the third the in here and he has this romantic dinner date for two set up.

I ran over to Shadow and hugged him tightly and gave him a deep kiss. "ShadyKu what is all this for?" I asked as I pulled away from the kiss.

"Well it's for our anniversary of course! My silly Sonikku!" I then let go of him and mouth my gaped open in a large 'O' shape. My hands went to my mouth again and I couldn't hold back the tears. I fell to my knees and stated bawling.

Shadow's POV
Everything was going just as I expected until Sonic fell on his knees and stared crying.

I knelt down next to him and cradled  him in a hug. I was now greatly concerned. "Sonikku, my darling, what is the matter? Come on sweet heart speak to me!" I pleaded as I rocked him back and forth gently in my arms and rubbed his back quills.

" S-Shads*gasp* I-I'm s-so *gasp* s-sorry*gasp* I-I to-totally forgot our*a-anniversary  p-please don't hate me!" I almost cried myself listening to Sonic choke out an apology between each of his salty tears.

"Oh Sonny darling it's ok! Really it is! I knew you weren't gonna remember. I was actually expecting you not to that's why I planned all of this! You've had so much stuff on your mind that I didn't  want you to get overwhelmed with our anniversary to so I planned this all out."

"Oh Shady your so sweet I can't believe I got to be married to someone as wonderful as you!" I smiled at him and kissed his forehead, I then helped him wipe his years away and carried him to the table i had set up.

Sonic's POV
I was so relived that Shadow forgave me and we able to enjoy the rest of our night an I have to admit it was beautiful.

Shadow had decorated a table with my favorite red, black and blue roses and two candle sticks on top of a red table cloth. He had prepared a dinner of spaghetti and meatballs with a glass of red wine to wash it down.

After dinner he played some music on radio that he bought and we danced for hours even though neither of us knew how.

After our failed attempt at dancing, we settled down in the grass and watched the night sky. I had my head on Shadows chest while he had his arms wrapped around my waist.

We whispered sweet nothings to each other all night light long until we began to make love under the full moon. We then fell asleep in each others arms and stayed there until dawn.

This was the greatest day of my life.
