Voltair: And then Aries came out of nowhere and BAM! Wrecked Develon right through a brick wall!
Sun Dragon: Wow! How incredible! So that's how you all met Aries and Rhudan. How fascinating!😁
Cosmic: And to think these Zodiac Warriors have been waiting all this time just for someone like Scorpius to awaken the first of them.

Cosmic and Voltair were telling Sun Dragon all about yesterday's mission. Aries had told everyone about how Scorpius found him and was after the other Zodiac Warriors, and then Muerte finally came out to see what was going on.

She looked into it, and it turned out Aries was right. Before the Giants came around, the Ancients gathered these warriors called the Zodiac Warriors to help keep peace in Skylands and help build up the civilization here. They were reincarnated and awoken every hundred years by the Ancients. But then the Ancients just... stopped. Aries and the other Zodiac Warriors were reincarnated over and over all these years, but never awakened. After some research, Aries realized he was "asleep" for since before the Arkean Reign, and found out why the Ancients didn't reawaken the Zodiac Warriors. Apparently the Arkeans arrived and it was too soon to reawaken the Zodiac Warriors, so the Ancients had to assemble some new heroes to compensate; the Giants. Eventually, the knowledge of the Zodiac Warriors just... faded away. But apparently Kaos somehow got ahold of some scrolls from the last time the Zodiac Warriors were awoken, and now Scorpius was searching them out for his own needs.

"You leave Scorpius alone for a few years, and look what he got into!" That was Rhudan's say about all of this. Apparently he had met Scorpius before, but he wouldn't say anything about what had happened between them. Probably a harsh fight that went in Scorpius' favor.

Eteru: You'd think Rhudan would be telling us ALL about Scorpius.
Sun Dragon: I know! That is strange. But it's like what Jace figured; maybe they got into a fight and Rhudan lost. Who knows?
Cosmic: As Joshua said once,"only our Lord above knows" or something like that.
Sun Dragon: Well, of course He'd know. The Lord I mean.
Voltair: Hey Eddy-
Eteru: Eteru.
Voltair: Yeah, I heard you got stuck with that weird Saigon guy.
Eteru: Sailiga Manu.
Voltair: Yeah, that guy! What's he like for a roommate?
Eteru: *sigh* ...I don't even know how to describe him.
Cosmic: Uh oh. Problem roommate is he?
Eteru: He uses up the hot water. He planted flowers, vines, and cacti in every nook and cranny. He has an addiction to psychedelic art. And he keeps speaking in that weird "language" of his. You know, "greeko" and "secili" and lord knows whatever gibberish he speaks. In short-
Voltair: He's a hippie.
Eteru: *sigh* Pretty much.😧
Sun Dragon: Be patient with him Eteru. He's probably trying to feel at home.
Eteru: Oh he's at home alright. I swear it's like I'm living with the guy from Yo Gabba Gabba.
Voltair: Hey! I loved that show! Don't insult it!😡
Eteru: *sigh*
Cosmic: Is it me, or are you becoming more like a certain sorceress?
Eteru: M-me?😕
Impken: Yo guys! Eteru buddy, glad I found ya! I've been all over the Academy looking for ya'll! (Panting)
Sun Dragon: Impken, what's wrong?
Impken: Remember how I went all out when Bazooka first showed up? Well Eteru's girlfriend Sirin is getting all in this kitsune's face as we speak!
Eteru: What? That can't be good.
Voltair: Let's roll!

Sure enough, Sirin had her tonfas pointed right at a large kitsune standing completely uneffected by Sirin's threats. He seemed quite well mannered, and alittle strange. He was almost completely black with some white fur and red and purple patches of color here and there. Amazingly, he was bipedal while most kitsunes prefered to walk on all fours. And all nine of his tails were big and puffy and full of fluff. And on his elbows were large tuffs of fur, which seemed alittle... odd.

Sirin: Stay back beast!
???: I haven't moved the slightest mistress. I hear you quite clearly.
Eteru: Sirin? What is it? What's wrong?
Sirin: I sense Darkness in him! Too much for your safety!
Impken: Oh for crying out loud! Look, I'm Dark elemental too! And I-
Sirin: Shut up you little imbecile!😠
Impken: *squeak* Eep! Put a leash on your gal Eteru!
Eteru: Sirin, don't you think this is a bit... extreme?😓
Sirin: Eteru, I know kitsunes are rarely born of Darkness! And look what he is!
???: Says a creature of Darkness herself. I sense it in you as you sense it in me. All the more reason to come here and learn to control it. Now if you excuse me miss Sirin, I do wish to-

The kitsune tried to walk around Sirin as he talked, but then Sirin instinctively tried to stop him with an attack to his side. Amazingly he was not only able to stop her, but was able to counter-attack her with ease!

Eteru: Oh no. Sirin! Don't!

Too late now. The fight was on!

Sirin immediately retaliated with a flurry of slashes from her tonfas at the dark furred kitsune. He was somehow able to move just enough to avoid a stab from the bladed weapons and even caught her blade with his bare paws! He then swung the tonfas up, taking Sirin with it as she was knocked back. The kitsune jumped in the air and was close to landing right on Sirin when she suddenly sank into the ground as a shadow, dodging the attack. Quickly rising to her physical form Sirin grabbed her tonfas and planned to slash from behind, but then the kitsune unexpectedly kicked her tonfas as they came close to contact. Kicked the tonfas!

Sirin quickly gathered herself and continued her attack. The kitsune was amazingly able to move and deflect from all the attacks with relative ease. The way the two of them were fighting and moving was astonishing and yet thrilling to watch. It was almost like a symphony or an orchestra. They were two chaotic forces and yet they moved in almost perfect harmony, one attack balanced by another and a sudden movement balanced by another. But eventually, things have to clash.

Sirin managed to push the kitsune back then leaped into the air for an areial assault, but the kitsune grabbed her feet at the last second and threw her into the air, completely catching Sirin off guard. Eteru finally intervened and caught Sirin before she could hit the ground, holding her bridal style. The kitsune resumed his causal posture as this scuffle was officially over. He eyed Sirin, for he hadn't had anyone match him in combat for some time. Not since... he was gone...

Eteru: Sirin! Are you alright?
Sirin: Well I'm clearly not in any pain Eteru. Now put me down I can stand up myself!😡
Impken: Hehehe! See? You two are a couple!😆
Eteru and Sirin: WE ARE NOT A COUPLE!😡
Impken: *squeak* Eep! Alright alright! Geez, can't a guy catch a break!?
???: You fight honorably Sirin. If you weren't so eager to be rid of me perhaps we may find that we have some things in common. Other then our elemental status that is.
Sirin: See? This is why I don't belong in this world Eteru. Everyone cares so much about their elemental properties.
Eteru: I told you Sirin. Skylands practically runs on the Ten Elements. Darkness is one of them, a newer element amongst most and yet has been here for ages. If you ask me you fit right in.
???: Ah, so you're from outside Skylands Sirin? Fascinating. Makes it all the more intriguing as to how we can fight so evenly. Perhaps we can be training partners?
Sun Dragon: See Sirin? He obviously just want to be a cadet here! Let him by.
Sirin: 😡...*growls* Fine. But I'm watching you kitsune! And don't count on us being "partners"!
???: Hmph. To think you actually make me seem talkative and social. Then again two of a kind usually attract. If you do wish to "hang out" some time, ask for Shin Takeo. That's me. Good day all. (Nods)

Shin Takeo, the dark furred kitsune, nodded in respect and walked towards the main building. Now that Sun looked at him, Shin did seem rather the loner type despite being so "chatty" with Sirin. And was it Sunny or did those tufts of fur on Shin's elbows seem... smaller?

Sun Dragon: Well, that was something else.
Cosmic: Sirin, are you sure you're okay? He seemed like he knew what you were doing!
Sirin: I appreciate your concern, I guess, but I am perfectly unharmed. *sigh*
Eteru: Sirin, where do you keep disappearing to? Seriously, I've searched half the Academy grounds for wherever you're hiding out at!
Sirin: That's none of your business Eteru. Your business is not getting yourself killed out here, or there, or anywhere else in this world. I'm just trying to assist in that.
Impken: Some business. Please don't scream at me again!😨
Eteru: *sigh* Why are you like this Sirin?
Sirin: Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know having Dark elemental properties or some *foreign language* wasn't an excuse for being an *foreign language*!😡
Eteru: ...What?
Sirin: What I said... is in my homeworld's language. Basically I said what can be considered here... "vulgar language". Now leave me alone. My energies have become unbalanced by all this and I must meditate to calm them.
Cosmic: I suppose you mean you're stressed out? Sounded like it.

Sirin ignored Cosmic and everyone who was probably glaring at her as she walked off before using her Dark Aura to sink into the ground as a shadow, disappearing entirely from sight. Sun Dragon naturally worried for Sirin and her behavior. She had explained how Eteru had met her, but what had lead her to be like this?

Eteru: *sigh* I don't get her sometimes. Like how people keep thinking me and her are a couple!😡
Impken: Now YOU'RE mad at me!? I seriously thought you both were! The way she was protecting you and how you caught her and all! Geez, can't us imps get a break?😓

Eteru was starting to understand why Sirin and her "energies" were getting unbalanced. He's only been here for so long and already he was stressing out. Sun Dragon offered him advise on how to calm down some, but Eteru wasn't sure if he'd get the chance to do any of it. Still, lime a nice person, he said he'd try some of them sometime.

However, Fate had other plans for him that day.

Apparently the Senseis were still trying to settle Eteru and Bazookanine into a team. After what happened with Furori and all, everything had been so confusing for them. Master Boom Bloom came and asked Eteru personally if he knew any groups that he'd like to work with. He thought about it, and as much as he wanted to work with Sun Dragon, he eventually figured he would want to help Cosmic and her team. After all, Lassea and Phobia were on it! But also because that group was still new and they needed some help.

And... it was rather convenient he chose them. See, they had a mission that day. And what else would it be then to do with...

Mission: Once again, Develon has attacked! This time he seems to have things from other worlds to help his conquest. And of course he'd attack the sacred Dragon Temple! The nerve of him, a fellow dragon! Take him down and capture him or at least detour him from his attack.

Lassea: Phobia calm down! We can get that little troublemaker this time, I know it! We have Eteru with us!
Eteru: You do know I'm not some instant solution right?😓
Cosmic: You've always helped us before! We're nkt saying you are some instant answer, but you're full of abilities we could use against Develon!
Mystic: Plus it's so nice to finally meet you Eteru! You're such a nice dragon!😊
Eteru: (chuckles) Well I try!😅
Terra: Now is not the time to pointless talk! We need to recall what happened yesterday during our previous encounter with Develon to rationalize a strategy against him!
Voltair: Geez, you're such a spoil sport Terra! Let everyone relax and loosen alittle before a big battle!
Obleak: Besides, I got the idea that Develon was "winging it" during our fight. We do, however, need to know what all Develon is capable of. And plus he now has some creatures with him. Just what is his plan?
Phobia: We'll find out soon enough. We're getting close to the Dragon Temple.

Meanwhile

Develon: Come on you little shadow buggers or whatever! I went to the trouble of getting a crate of ya guys so you can wreak some havoc here! Come on!

Develon, being the half oblivious "villain" he was, had somehow gotten some creatures called Shadow Heartless to attack the Dragon Temple. He was SOOOO proud of himself that he almost didn't notice when one of his bugs has suddenly struck by lightning.

Phobia: First you attack some townmjust to get our attention, then you attack this sacred island!? What is wrong with you!?
Develon: Oooo, very dramatic entrance "heroes"😈! (Cackles) Oh, who's the newbie? He's rainbow colored soo, I'm guessing he's bi or something?
Eteru: 😲 What!?
Develon: Haha! Gotta love messing with people! Now sick 'em buggers!
Voltair: We'll show ya it isn't a good idea to mess with us!

These shadow bug things were surprisingly easy to take out. They were about as bad as Chompies, dangerous in large numbers but can be taken out in one hit of anything. All these bugs could do was pounce on you, try to scratch you with its little hands, and sink into the ground like Sirin could to avoid attacks. That and they were kinda cute looking, with their small chubby bodies and their small yellow eyes. But still, they were attacking this sacred island and they needed to be dealt with somehow.

After a majority of the little bug things were wiped out, Eteru noticed that Develon had another trick up his scales. He was yanking on a chain, trying to pull something out of a metal box he had brought out. He finally managed to tug on the chain enough to reveal the creature he was probably going to try to use to attack the team. The creature immediately caught Eteru's eyes with its majestic and regal form.

It was only slightly smaller then Eteru was. It walked on all fours and it had scales nearly all over its body. Yet it had a large mane of wavy blue hair covering its neck entirely and fell down and moved in the wind like an ocean wave. Its eyes were neon green, the horn on its forehead was golden yellow, and its scales along its body were deep indigo and bright red. The creature was like a dragon but with a unicorn like body. The creature was pulling against the chain around its neck as Develon was yanking harshly to make it move. Eteru had to save this creature before Develon could try to use it!

Develon: Ok you unicorn thing, attack!
Creature: *growls*
Develon: Dangit I said attack! I thought you pets were loyal to your owners!
Eteru: Such a creature like that wouldn't obey your evil whims even if it meant death! Let it be and let it go Develon!
Develon: Ha! I say, ha! For your information I bought this thing with my own two hands! It was ridiculously hard considering I had to get enough "Neo-points" or whatever to buy it, not to mention these things are like the most precious of pets where it comes from! It's mine fair and honest! Now, attack you unicorn what's it!

Oh it attacked alright. Its horn glowed and it jumped, slashing Develon right in his tummy! Develon was sent flying as the creature continued to break its chain. Eteru was going to help but then the creature pointed its horn at Eteru, obviously threatening to attack if Eteru didn't step back. Eteru quickly raised his claws in the air to show he wasn't going to fight the creature, and it seemed to work in terms of the creature not attacking. The creature did get closer and sniff Eteru lightly. It then suddenly bumped the side of its head against Eteru and seemed to calm down some. It still had its serious and determined looks, obviously ready to take down Develon. Eteru nodded to the creature before he heard Develon getting up from the attack.

Develon: Gah! What is wrong with you!? Whatever! Like I even need you stupid unicorn thing!😠
Lassea: Eteru! Try touching Develon! See if you can use any of his powers against him!
Develon: What!? Grr, is that a challenge? If so, I accept! Let's if you can tag me "Eteru" boy! (Laughs)

Develon flapped his wings and began to fly off around the temple, taunting Eteru into playing this game of tag of his. Everyone, the creature included, gave chase trying to halt Develon at least long enough for Eteru to touch him. Just one touch. Then Eteru can have one of Develon's powers.

But Develon wasn't making it easy. He kept flying around and into all sorts of places like a Looney Tunes character. He would hide behind pillars, inside barrels... pretty much everywhere.

By chance however, one of Voltair's lightning bolts hit Develon's wing, causing him to fall to the ground. This gave Eteru more then enough time to touch Develon and gain his power!

Eteru: Tag! Now let's see what we got! Fireball, go! (Blows small colored bubbles) 😲 What!?
Develon: Haha! You suck at your job too! Haha!😂
Phobia: Oh no you didn't!

Phobia suddenly jumped onto Develon's back, causing him to panic as Phobia held on as tught as she could. She was trying to use her infamous memory searching to find some hoorible event in Develon's life to stun him,mor at least humiliate him for revenge. Either worked. As Develon was moving around frantically to throw Phobia off like some kind of dragon rodeo, Phobia finally found a good memory to show before Develon's eyes. And it was something.

It was a memory of when onemof his plans to take over a world failed. Apparently two other Bubble Dragons named Bud and Bob stopped him at the last second when someone named Snownfall or something like that escaped from Develon's clutches at the last possible second. It was so embarrassing to lose to those two Bubble Dragons for Develon, especially when he was THAT close to succeeding! It made Develon angry.

Very... angry...

Develon: STOP IT! STOP IT!

Suddenly Develon seem to explode with red raging energy, sending Phobia into a wall. Everyone tried to brace themselves but they were receiving the full amount of the blast. Something about the energy was all too familiar to Eteru. Was it...? No. No, it couldn't... Could it? Was it...

Demon energy!

When the red light finally faded, everyone was shocked to see that Develon was no longer a small adorable chibi dragon. Now he was a large, hyper realistic, almost too hideous dragon demon with burning red eyes, rugged scales, sharp claws and teeth, and a large limber tail.

This was the full extent of his demon powers... a merciless dragonic beast who looked like the very meaning of vengence...

Develon(full demon): (Cackles maniacally) What's wrong!? Scared of the big bad dragon? Good... You deserve no less for trying to make me feel weak! Oh, how would Bud and Bob see me if they saw one of their own infused with demon blood? It feels good to be a dragonic demon hybrid! Raven is only a Demonic human hybrid though. Wait until we meet again demon inside, because it's only a matter of time now... As for the lot of you, I will be merciful and only demolish the buildings around here as I please!

Develon, now large and strong enough, started swiping his tail at the surrounding buildings. All he did was swing his tail, and it was enough to truly demolish any and all buildings in his tails wake. And it only took one swing of his tail. Just one.

How could a sweet Bubble Dragon become this... monstrosity...?

Develon(full demon): (Cackles maniacally) See what I can accomplish? You should just surrender now and hand all of Skylands to me! I will return again, and next time I expect an answer as to what you decide to happen to your precious land. Shall I rule it... Or shall I destroy it? I take my leave now, for I had not expected to use my full demon potential so soon. Consider it a mercy raincheck!

Develon flapped his now massive wings and flew off. The wind generated from the flap was enough to literally blow Eteru and everyone immediately under Develon away some distance away. Develon was fortunately gone within moments, if not seconds, of his farewell statement.

Why did Raven get involved with the worst people? Seriously, Develon was quickly turning from amateur crook to merciless tyrant...

At first Eteru didn't want to get up. Between the energy blast and the destruction Develon's demon tail caused to the wind slapping him in the face... it was too much for him. He'd rather stay on the cold stone ground since it was oddly comforting at the moment then even attempt to walk around. The unicorn like creature from before had other plans though. Somehow it was still walking around after what had happened. It was even trying to get Eteru to get up, but Eteru refused willingly out of weakness. The creature eventually resorted to dragging Eteru's tail to wherever it wanted him to go. Then Eteru heard the reason why this creature was so persistent with Eteru getting up.

Apparently during the destruction, Phobia had pushed Lassea out of the path of a piece of debris. She was already weakened by the direct hit of energy, but now the debris had practically flattened her to the ground. Everyone else had already lifted the debris off her, but Phobia was still unconscious. Alive, but barely, which was kinda saying something considering she was Undead. Lassea was especially upset about the situation. She was practically paralyzed by the shock of it all.

Eteru had to do something. He had healing powers. He could at least help Phobia feel less pain.

If he wasn't in so much pain himself.

And it wasn't that he didn't try. When he tried getting up, he flinched and fell to the ground again. And even if he could get up, he probably wouldn't have the energy to heal her.

But then he felt... better... He looked up to see the creature's horn glowing and pointed at him. Eteru looked at his paw and saw that he was glowing some too. Did this creature have healing powers? Then why wasn't it healing Phobia!? Why Eteru?

Eteru didn't have the strength to question it, but eventually he did have the strength to do what he wanted- and needed- to do. When Eteru looked up at the creature after it stopped healing him, it didn't look phased at losing whatever amount of energy it lost, and it moved its head towards Phobia as if it was telling Eteru to go to her. Well of course he was going to do that! He got up, still somewhat shaky, and walked over to Phobia.

Obleak was trying to calm Lassea down as Terra and Cosmic were trying to find some way to help Phobia when they all noticed Eteru placing his hands on Phobia's still unconscious body, looking for any major injuries.

Voltair: Eddy? What'cha doing?
Mystic: What happened!? I got knocked out for a second when- Eteru? What happened!?
Terra: Eteru? It is her legs I believe if you are looking for the worse injuries.
Cosmic: Her legs got buried under the rubble. Why are you-

Eteru didn't answer. He saw that Terra was right; the worse was in the legs. Possible internal bleeding. Eteru's hands glowed with magic as he began to heal Phobia's wounds. As he once healed Bazookanine's two years ago before they bacame blood brothers. As the wounds were healed pass the fatal danger...

Everything went black for Eteru...

Later

Sun Dragon was shocked at the news. Eteru unconscious, Phobia injured, and Develon has now shown to be a much greater threat then anyone had imagined! No one could've saw this coming, especially this soon. But then Cosmic said Develon admitted himself that he wasn't expecting to use his full power so soon himself. Maybe he was saving it for Raven? Who knows but him?

Sunny was planning on seeing Eteru when he was interrupted by one of his friends.

Jace: Sun! You heard about that creature thing that followed Eteru's group backmhere?
Sun Dragon: Yes. What of it?
Jace: I don't know why, but it's attacking Sirin!
Sun Dragon: What?!

Well, not exactly attacking. More like... challenging, from the looks of it.

The creature had its horn pointed at Sirin, and Sirin pointed her tonfas at it. It was a stand off. And though she really didn't want to admit it... She was actually somewhat frightened. She already fought once today after all.

Sun Dragon: Sirin! What's going on!?
Sirin: How am I to know!? This beast just ran up to me and began this stand off with me! It won't let me ove on from here!
Crocavile: Kekeke! How exciting! A catfight of otherworldly creatures! My bet's on the beastie thing!
Sun Dragon: Crocavile! Listen Sirin, just remain calm! We'll-
Sailiga: Relax everyone! I know what's going on here greeko! Sirin, miss, do not be alarmed! Be honored even!
Jace: What?
Sailiga: Listen, i knkw of this creature! It's called a Quilin where it comes from. It's similar to the Japanese Unicorn greeko!
Sirin: A Japa- What!?
Sailiga: Listen! The Quilin represent strength and confidence and prefer to choose their masters rather then allow to be controlled by another *foreign language*! It must've smelled your scent on Eteru and thought you worthy of it! It merely wants to test you!
???: Hmph. This I gotta see.

Sun Dragon recognized that voice. Ajey?

Ajey was sitting on top of a rock not far from them. She genuinely seemed interested in what was happening. Her droid thing, Octo-probe, crawled over to Sun and actually hugged his leg. The droid was surprisingly cute for who he was connected with.

Sun Dragon: Ajey? Have you been here the whole time?
Ajey: Happened to be here thinking when these two came along. Figured I'd watch since I don't trust that- What's her name? "Sirin" you said?
Sirin: What am I to you? Some monster waiting to be slaughtered?
Ajey: Not necessarily... A wild animal that, with work, can be tame. But you were close there I'll admit!
Sun Dragon: Ajey, if you're not going to help, then don't say anything.
Ajey: 😐 Well! Sorry for being a spectator!
Sailiga: Listen Sirin! You have to fight this Quilin! You don't have to harm it; just make it yield to you!
Sirin: What happens if I lose? It loses its interest in me?
Sailiga: I... I honestly don't know that Sirin. I haven't actually seen a Quilin until today. Be careful, for they are said to have powerful magic. It may try to use some of its magic.
Ajey: If you don't mind me commenting here... I somehow doubt that it would usemmagic in a sword fight.
Sun Dragon: I hate to be offensive, but are you saying that because you lost to a magic user?
Octo-probe: 😨 *Bee boo*...
Ajey: 😲 H-h*ll no! That's totally different! Just start the fight already Sirin!😡
Crocavile: Bets hereee! Place your bets hereee!😆 Thank you good sir! Thank you!
Jace: Are you serious Croc?
Sirin: Well... I'm not one to defy tradition. And he did help Eteru... Very well Quilin. I accept thy challenge!
Quilin: (battle stance) Ah tun! *low growl*

The Quilin stomped his front paw towards Sirin as he quickly raised his head yet still kept his horn pointed at Sirin, clearly a sign of determination.

Sirin took a breath, threw one of her tonfas aside, and swung her other tonfa around in an impressive display, finally stopping as the bladed weapon pointed at the Quilin.

They began to slowly walk around one another with their blades pointed at the other. Sirin even had one of her hands around her back while holding her tonfa with the other hand. The Quilin didn't seem bothered... by anything. He never took his glowing neon eyes off of Sirin. He didn't step out of line either.

Then their blades began to clash!

One swing after another. One step back and one step forward. It was like a beautiful harmony of swordplay. Sparks even occasionally flew when the two of them were really striking the other! Almost beautiful, and that's not because the Quilin was majestic or that Sirin was surprisingly attractive by her own means!

And then Sirin tried something. Similar to what she had done with Shin earlier, she tried to jump and take the Quilin by surprise! But the Quilin turned the tables and used the very side of his head to counter act Sirin's force, sending her into the air like Shin did!

But Sirin is definitely not one to repeat mistakes...

She managed to land on her feet, and then before the Quilin could attack, Sirin struck the horn of the creature and knocked him down like a swordsman knocking anothers sword out of the hand!

The Quilin fell to the ground on his side, and he looked up to see Sirin pointing her tonfa at the creature.

Sirin: (panting) Do... you yield? Have I... won your challenge?
Quilin: ...

There was a moment of silence...

Then the Quilin rose to his feet, looked straight into Sirin... and bowed his head to her.

She had won his approval!

Sun Dragon: What a show!
Sailiga: How amazing to see greeko!
Crocavile: Ok people! Get your pay hereee!
Jace: Didn't you lose money on this bet too?
Crocavile: Eh, I was being nice to the both of them! Wanted to see what they could do! Kekeke!
Jace: *sigh* Whatever.
Ajey: (clapping) Not half bad Sirin. It's impressive you managed to beat one Japanese creature after you failed to beat another one like a kitsune. Yeah, I saw that fight too. Still, very impressive on both counts really. You haven't gained anymore trust in you from me though. Far... from it. *whistles* Octo-probe! Come on!

Octo-probe looked up at Ajey, looked at Sunny for a second, then crawled after Ajey like it did before. Sun Dragon seriously needed a talk with her AND Fin-Point one of these days.

Sirin: 😡*growls* I'm really starting to hate her. Now if you excuse me all I really need to check in- What the?
Quilin: (follows Sirin)
Sirin: What now!?
Sailiga: He sees you worthy greeko! He wishes to be your companion now greeko!
Sirin: Uh... No? I don't need nor want him. I only took his challenge to satisfy him, nothing more. He should focus on going back to his homeworld.
Sun Dragon: Like you have?
Sirin: 😕... You were paying attention to what I said of how me and Eteru's paths intervened? Hmph... Don't ever mention that ever again unless you want to die, understand?😡
Sailiga: Quite, quite. Well, no matter Sirin. He's decided to stay by your side no matter what greeko! He wouldn't have chosen you otherwise! Keep him around and even name him if you wish! That's how it worked in his world for the Quilin!
Sirin: *sigh*... Fine, but only because the creature wants it. You said his kind represent strength and confidence?
Sailiga: That's right greeko!
Sirin: Hmm... Where I was raised, such a person would be named Saitama, for the name is seen as one of strength beyond measure. I guess this Quilin's name shall be named Saitama now, if he so wishes it.
Saitama: (bows)
Sun Dragon: Ah! Is it me, or is this the beginning of a beautiful friendship?😆
Sirin: 😐 It's just you. Now please, I must see Eteru and check him for serious injuries-
Sun Dragon: Sirin he's fine! And if you wish, I want to come along too. I was on my way to see Eteru myself before Jace told me of what was happening here. May I?
Sirin: ...I suppose. But only because you're going to the same place and person. That and...
Sun Dragon: And?
Sirin: ...Eteru trusts you... So I should trust you too.
Sun Dragon: Sirin... Thanks! 😊

And with that, Sunny, Sirin, and the Quilin now named Saitama went to checkmon a dear friend. And Crocavile secretly hated that he lost some money in his betting session.

And fyi, the whole thing with Develon's "full demon form" is just my headcanon stuff. He canonically doesn't have that power... or at least hasn't revealed it...

And the Quilin is a creature from something called Neopets! Neopets is a millennial thing, and I was born in 2002, so I'm technically one too. I frickin grew up reading Neopet magazines and I've sort of rediscovered it and omg I love it. The Quilin is actually a "petpet" as Neopets call it. Here's a pic of a Neopian Quilin.

Thanks to ST for the name and allowing me to have one follow Sirin around. Cheers to anyone besides ST who knows where the name comes from.
