The theatre club stared at Maxon, waiting for him to explain himself. Kennedy felt her surroundings spiral around her, her brain desperately trying to comprehend what was going on.

___ ___ ___ ___ ___

Kennedy ducked behind the red car, her eyes widening when she saw Leonie still standing there.

"Leonie, get down!", she hissed, before grabbing her best friend's arm and pulling her behind the car.

"What's she doing with him?", asked Leonie.

"Maybe it's just something innocent? Let's not jump to conclusions."

"She's getting dinner at a fancy restaurant, Kennedy!
What's innocent about that?"

___ ___ ___ ___ ___

Weronika furrowed her eyebrows in confusion when she saw her friends standing by her front door.

"Oh!
I didn't know we were hanging out today."

"We aren't", said Emmelie.

"Oh, well... did something happen?"

Emmelie and Merle exchanged a knowing look, but it was Merle that responded.

"We supported you when your club rehearsals took up all of your time, but now you have to choose."

"Choose?"

"It's us or them, Weronika."

___ ___ ___ ___ ___

Clarissa slid a mango smoothie towards Eli, before resting her arms on the table and placing her hands on her face.

"You need to stop being such a push-over, Eli.
Just say what you're really thinking. Who cares about their feelings getting hurt?
They'll get over it."

___ ___ ___ ___ ___

"How are things with you and Esther?, asked Camryn.

"They're good.
I'm just giving her some space right now."

"And that's... a good idea?"

Nico nodded.
"Sometimes it's best to give people space to work out their problems."

Camryn contemplated this.
"Good to know."

___ ___ ___ ___ ___

Amethyst pulled the folder out of her father's grasp and threw it on the floor.
Veins popped out of her forehead as her anger became too much to bear.

"I don't give a f*ck about business! Just like you don't give a f*ck about Mum!"

___ ___ ___ ___ ___

"I can't believe you're leaving", said Darius.

"It's not fully hit me yet, bro", said Stanley.

"Have you gone to any Open Days?"

"Not yet.
Leonie's coming over later to help me book some."

"I'm really gonna miss you, Stanley."

___ ___ ___ ___ ___

"They're not good for you, Esther!"

"Oh my–Arden isn't good for me? They're the only person who understands what I'm going through, Nico!"

"I get that, but they're changing you. I'm just trying to look out for you."

"Look out for me?
Look out for yourself, more like.
And so what if I'm changing?
Maybe that's a good thing.
Maybe... maybe I'm finally outgrowing this place."

___ ___ ___ ___ ___

Hi!

These are just some of the things that'll appear in the rest of the chapters! And they won't always be written out exactly like this, this is just to give you an idea of what's to come.

Which part intrigues you the most, or are you worried about a certain part? I'd love to know!
