This theory I thought recently.
Why I think this is true:
Rose and lion are both pink
They both have a deep connection with Steven.
And that Lion protects Steven like a mother.
So Either Rose IS really Lion or that Lion was Rose's pet and when she left, lion started looking for her. But the closest thing Lion found was Steven.
