Similar to Infernape, Emboar is also based off a character in Journey to the West. The final evolution of the Gen V Fire-Starter is based off of Zhu Bajie, a major character who is half-human and half-pig known for getting into trouble because of his laziness, gluttony, and lust for beautiful women.
