Here are some frequently asked questions. If you have a question that is not available here, ask away thru my inbox. I'll add more along the way.

1
Q: I can't see the private chapters even after following you. What do I do?

A: Please delete the book from your library, add it again, sign out of your account and then sign back in. You should be able to see the private chapters after following those steps. It always works.

2
Q: Why do you have private chapters?

A: Two things. One, because I don't want my whole story out in the open, and this is due to an influx of mirror sites out there that downloads stories from writing sites who make money using pop up ads whenever a reader clicks on a chapter. When I privatized some chapters, that's when I noticed that they were no longer available on their sites. I placed a note at the beginning of each story warning the reader that they can read the complete story on Wattpad where it's safer from malware. You have to be a follower in order to read the private chapters. I know it sucks, but you can always unfollow after reading, no biggie. Second, it's because my mature scenes are hidden and I have to place them in a separate book.

3
Q: Will there be a sequel for What Vincent Wants?

A: To be honest, I don't like writing sequels. I do spin-offs instead. I just want to give them their happy ending and move on to the next couple. To be honest, I easily get tired writing about the same characters. What Vincent Wants might not have a sequel, but expect them to weave in and out of the Sterling book series.

4
Q: What is the Sterling series?

A: Book 1 - Vincent Sterling, Book 2 - Russell Sterling (younger brother), Book 3 - Callen Sterling (younger sis), Book 4 - Rainier Sterling (Vincent's cousin)

Spin offs

* Your Shattered Heart (Daphne's cousin Aylene + Antoine's love story - new adult - available on radish.com)

* Between You, Me and the Bed - Allie and Rich from Between You and Me gets to have an alternate version of their love story (new adult)

5
Q: When do you update?

A: It really depends. It's whenever I finish a chapter.

6
Q: Why do you take a long time to update?

A: Because I work full time and I have a family to take care of. I also assist my mom with her appointments and do house chores and grocery shopping. I like to write at my own pace that way I don't post a crappy chapter.

7
Q: What do you use to write your stories?

A: When I do drafts, I usually write on notepads on my lunch breaks or I type whatever comes to mind on my iPhone's pages/notepad. When I'm home and I have the time to sit down and write, that's when I work on the whole thing using my MacBook Air.

8
Q: Will you ever write in another genre?

A: I've tried most genres in the past with Romance being a huge part of the storyline. Most of them are still incomplete and have been tossed to the back burner. It's fun, but one thing's for sure, I don't think I'll ever do horror and historical romance. But I'm keeping my options open. Never say never.

9
Q: Is Vincent American or French? I'm confused.

A: He's half French. His Mom, Laurel, is French who was born in Bretagne, France and moved to New York when she was a toddler and his dad is originally from New York. I chose Vincent to be half French because I'm also half European myself. To be honest, I have a fascination with anything French related. I grew up loving Fashion design, watching haute couture on TV that were based in Italy and France, hoping I'd be Fashion designer someday and live in Europe. My dad loved sending me books about Madeline by John Bemelmans Marciano when he was living in Guam.

10
Q: Do you live in New York?

A: No, I live in San Diego, California. I was born and raised in Olongapo City, Philippines in a military base in Subic bay. My dad was originally from New York, the reason why I use it as one of my story settings.

11
Q: How did you come up with the story What Vincent Wants?

A: A few years before the story was posted in May 2015, I have the draft in my phone's notepad that was supposed to be posted on FictionPress. The story was originally about a girl who lost her virginity at a yacht party in St. Tropez. A year later she was surprised to find out that she actually lost it to her sister's fiancée who she meets again. I didn't want to go down that route, so I changed some details here and there, and voila, What Vincent Wants was born. I wanted to write a billionaire story, so being the cliche loving girl that I am, I went ahead with the plan. It's hard to write a steamy story without it being compared with Fifty shades, but never give up and just keep going.

12
Q: Is katiecruz your real name?

A: No, it's not. But it's one of my nicknames at work. Offline, people call me kitty or kit-kat, sometimes katie-kat. Hint: I was named after a Queen. I'd prefer to keep my real name a secret.

13
Q: When did you start writing?

A: I've always loved writing stories when I was a kid. I would supply my classmates "Sailor Moon" fan fictions and draw comic strips for them when I was 12. Growing up, my brother and I weren't allowed to play outside our gate, so we entertained ourselves by drawing and writing stories. I only started writing stories online back in January 2011 after my husband left for basic training (US Army) in 2010.

14
Q: Why did you start writing romance?

A: I enjoyed reading romance since I was younger (I was like 10/11). To my mom's Filipino love story comics to my aunt's collection of Harlequin romance novels. I started writing romance when my husband left for basic training. We lived separately for 4 years. Writing was therapeutic, and besides from being a working mother, writing online romance novels kept my mind busy. It was a great outlet before and after work. My readers kept me on my toes and my online friends were very supportive while hubby was away.

15
Q: Is it hard to be a military wife? I'm scared of long distance relationships.

A:  Well, it wasn't for me. All I can say is, it's really up to you and your spouse on how you're going to make it work. Trust is a huge factor in a relationship. My husband was stationed in different bases but kept in touch a few times a day. We would FaceTime every night and if I was at work, he made sure my son has done all his homework before he goes to sleep. When holidays came around, he always came home to see us even if it was just for a few days. He never cared how much he would spend on air fare as long as he came to visit. He never goes out with friends even if I allow him. He trusts me to go out but I don't really go out either. Long distance relationships are risky, but how are you going to know if you're too scared to try?

16
Q: Was Wattpad your first writing site?

A: No, it wasn't. I started writing on a small writing community just months before I joined Wattpad in 2011, but I don't really want to mention the site because of the plagiarism issues we've seen, not to mention the lack of customer service they have shown.

17
Q: Can we get Vincent's POV?

A: Sorry, his POV's are only available in the ebook and paperback that's coming out in 2018.

18
Q: How do I get reads?

A: You just need to get yourself out there. Make friends, comment on other people's stories, post in clubs (if there are threads available). I promise, as long as you do all these things out of the goodness of your heart, you will gain reads. Remember: Kindness begets kindness. It takes time to build readership, but with faith and patience, reward will eventually come pouring in. Online presence is the key. In order to get yourself on the radar is to post regularly, preferably once or twice a week. Never do read for reads, follow backs, comment exchanges, posting on other people's stories or profiles. I'm discouraging you to do these things because it's not good etiquette. If you're ever going to ask a person to read your story, ask politely by sending them a private message. Be sure to read their profiles first in case they mention that reading requests aren't allowed. Remember, be kind. Rude messages will only get you cussed out or muted.

19
Q: How to become popular?

A: You shouldn't be thinking about this when you're writing. You write because you love it. You write because it's your passion. You write because you want to share your talent with the world. You write because you want to entertain. It's natural to want to become popular, and I understand that. Admit it, we've all been there. But as time goes by, you'll realize popularity isn't everything. Always be happy with whatever you have. Be humble and thankful for whatever you get.

20
Q: How do I become good at writing?

A: Keep writing, keep reading. There's always room for improvement. I'm still learning myself.

21
Q: How to deal with haters?

A: The best thing you can do is use the mute button. Try it. Seriously, it does wonders.

22
Q: What do you use to make your covers?

A: I use my Jasc Paint Shop Pro 9 and Corel X. If you don't have any photoshop or other photo editing tools, download the Wattpad cover app. It gives you the right dimensions. Don't use pictures with small resolutions or else your picture will look grainy, pixelated when stretched out.
