Mitch's POV

Skyler, Jerome and I run around, looking for some chests. We're low on food, which is never a good thing. As I look around, I see a group of people.

Jason, Tiffany, Dina and Burton. I know that from the list of tribute scores.

I see Skyler up ahead. She noticed the group as well. I look up and see Jerome in a tree. Good, he's safe for the most part. None of them have bows or arrows.

I sprint towards Skyler and together, we pull out our weapons. My bow and her sword. Jerome joins us with his axe and we face them.

"Aww, it's just a little group," Dina grins maliciously.

Jason mutters something that can't be heard from where we're standing and I look over at Skyler. She looks pretty concerned. I don't blame her. If Willow was in Jason's spot, I would be worried too.

"I'm afraid that the risk of you killing us at this point is too high," says Burton, twirling his sword. "We can't let you live or you'll kill us."

"Dude, I have a bow," I warn. I didn't want to shoot him, but I had to do what I had to do to protect myself. I didn't want to be the one that wiped out the last District 8 tribute.

"Burton, they aren't worth our time," Jason says. I hear Skyler breathe a quiet sigh of relief.

"They are three more people keeping us from the end of this game," Burton says forcefully. Jason shrinks back beside Tiffany.

Burton comes at us with a sword and we all ready our weapons. I shoot one arrow and it hits his arm. He winces in pain and pulls the arrow out. He throws it to the ground and glares at me.

"You're gonna regret that, farmer boy," he hisses. He lunges at me and Jerome steps in the way with his axe in hand. Jerome knocks him back with his axe and growls deep in his throat.

"Nobody touches my Mitch. He's mine."

Burton nods quickly and backs up, holding a nasty gash in his stomach as the group runs away. He wipes his axe on the grass and puts it on his back.

"Thanks for saving my life, Biggums," I say. Jerome grins.

"Anything for you Mitch. I'm not letting my benja down."
