Chapter one

Berwald dragged himself in his college lecture, with just a laptop and a coffee in his hands. He sat down at his usual spot, opening his computer and reductaly starting to listen to his professor. Shortly after he sat down, another boy had approached the seat besides his. He was a quite short boy, with brown eyes with some hints of violet in them, blond hair and the most perfect face Berwald had ever saw. The boy glanced at the Swedish for a couple seconds, before shyly waving at him "hi.. sorry, is- is this seat taken?" The boy quickly asked him, softly smiling "uh... No it's not. You can sit there if you want..." Berwald quickly responded, trying to sound as friendly as possible, but judging from the face of the boy, he must have been terrified of Berwald. "I'm Tino... What's your nam- no that sound stupid" the boy called Tino corrected himself, facepalming "I'm Berwald... I like your name..." The Swedish boy, being an introvert, was being absolutely drained by the small talk "oh thanks..." Now he said something stupid again. Good job Ber. Really. The rest of the class went as planned, and Berwald got ready for his next period. That day, he only had two, and was frankly grateful for that. The rest of the day went by smoothly and, as the night approached, Berwald decided to review his notes. They weren't the cleanest. His so called "notes" were just a write file with a bunch of spelling errors, mixing Swedish and English, trying to make up for the fact that English wasn't his first language .

.

The next day, he went to his first class. Since it was the same as the day before, he was indeed quite scared to see the blond boy and being akward again. He sat down slightly more to the left than yesterday, to see if the boy was gona sit next to him again. And he did. Tino waved akwardly again and sat, taking out his notebook and a pen "so you use pen and paper, huh?" Berwald asked, trying to get the other to talk to him "oh yes. I don't really like digital notes. They feel to stiffy I don't know... Yeah it's quite stupid.." "no it's not. I do k'nda agree" Berwald said, realizing his accent had slightly spilled "what?" Tino questioned, tilting his head "kinda... Sorry... English ain't me first lang'ge.." the Swedish quickly apologized "oh, what is it? Like your first language?" The shorter boy asked "Sw'dish" the other muttered "what? Sorry, it's quite hard to understand..." Tino asked "Swed's" "SWEDISH? Whoa that's so cool... Mine is Finnish! I guess there is another Scandinavian here!" Tino yelled out in surprise, catching the attention of a couple other students "oh dammit I shouldn't had yelled, should've I?" Tino apologized, with such puppy eyes, Berwald was about to explode "ah, d'nt worry, it's fine..." He quickly forgave Tino.

.

As the bell rang, indicating the lecture was over, Berwald stood up slowly, closing his laptop and taking his empty cup of coffee. The Finnish next to him did the same, closing his notebook and putting it in his backpack "wanna go grab a bite?" Tino proposed "it's about lunch time and... Yeah I'm kinda lonely and you seem like a nice guy! There should be a McDonald's near here" Berwald stood there for a couple seconds "s're..." He quickly muttered, heading out to the halls, with the shorter boy behind him.

.

They quickly made their way outside "so, do you have a car? Tino asked, laughing akwardly "uhm, yes I do.. s'it ok if you like.. c'me w'th me?" Berwald responded, blushing a bit "sure!!" The shorter boy replied, rushing towards the parking lot. Berwald took out his keys, reaching to his car.

They got to the McDonald's in about 5 minutes, in which Tino had asked the other every question possible about him

"So, what city are you from?"

"What's your favourite food?"

"Do you like ABBA music?"

"Are you a dog or cat person?"

And so on. Berwald shyly muttered the answers, and wondered why the hell Tino asked about ABBA music, but didn't say anything "so, now it's your turn. Ask me questions!" The Finnish boy laughed "uhm.. why ABBA m'sic?" The taller asked "well... I have to say that I love it. I wouldn't consider myself a super fan but I just love the song- NO WAY IT'S WATERLOO!" Tino cut off halfway through his answer as Waterloo by ABBA came on the radio, starting to sing. 'what have I gotten myself in...: Berwald asked himself as he pulled in the parking lot of the McDonald's.
