My family, that is, my parents were waiting in the living room. I was a single child so I've always been under extra pressure except those two years I remember nothing about. Loneliness has been my forte. Other than my best friend, Kyle. He's the one whom I actually consider my brother.

I entered the living room and sat on the dining table where my dad was sitting with a newspaper in his hand and drinking tea. My mum was busy preparing breakfast in the kitchen. Soon, she came back and we all started having breakfast when my dad all of a sudden asked me a question, " Are you ready to meet her ?"

"Her?" I asked.

"Your fiancé" he clarified.

"Yeah, sure" I gave him the convincing reply he wanted. Though I'm still not sure that I want to marry her, maybe I should meet her at least once.

My mother had happiness gleaming in her eyes as soon as she heard my reply. I decided to call Kyle. Maybe he might know something...

" Hello, Kyle? "

" Hey, Its Kiara."

" Kiara, who? "

"Kyle's girlfriend and was one of your really good friends. I just came back from my trip and heard about your memory loss. I'm so sorry." Her voice broke at the end

"Not needed. Where's Kyle?"

"He had an important work and forgot his phone here..."

"Oh... Ok. Please tell him to call me later."

"Yeah, sure. Goodbye."

"Bye."

And she hung up the phone. I felt like I could recognise her voice from somewhere but, I can't remember. Anyways, I shouldn't stress about it as doctor has instructed.

I started reading the documents regarding the deal between the two families and how it will be signed after our marriage and I would take over. Its a really big responsibility. Handling a company is not a child's game.

My phone started ringing disturbing my thoughts and I swiftly picked it up after reading the caller ID.

"Kyle?"

"Hey Man, how are you doing?"

"I'm much better now but I needed your help."

"Sure, I'll try. What help do you want?"

"What do you know about my marriage plan and taking over the company?"

And for a minute all I could hear were his fast breaths on the other side.
