"Gather around" six cats had joined froststar as she yelled directions hastily "let's help holecloud, he's being attacked by stem of leaf!"

"Peltgleam" she looked at the colored she-cat "go now with grasswillow and distract stem of leaf"

The two warriors ran to the healer, without glancing back and froststar regained his warrior's attention.

"I would like you, leopardspot to take..." for a heartbeat, froststar thought about what she could do, the cats looked, confused, up at their leader. Then strongpaw emerged from behind leopardspot "I would like to battle with my father for the sake of my clan".

The leader blinked gratefully at the apprentice, and all heads turned to glance at him "great and will you take your mentor, snowclaw with you"

Snowclaw dipped her head, and went with the two cats. "That leaves me and you gleamhawk, let's try to stay in the shadows and attack at the last moment" gleamhawk nodded slowly andFroststar felt flamestar at her side matching each of her pawstep as she slowly streched one paw after another for her clan and headed for the shadows.

Under one of the few trees that surrounded their camp froststar stared at the dark warriors with an unblinking stare.

Holecloud was regaining his speed as he scrapped the dark warrior's belly, and peltgleam jumped on stem of leaf making loose his balance and fall on the ground.

But the healer had still the eagerness to win, as leopardspot and snowclaw were attempting to bite stem of leaf's neck, the healer closed his eyes and rested motionless on the ground. Leopardspot let out a purr of delight as the healer's breath slowly died away.

Froststar only smiled as if he had expected his warriors to win but stem of leaf hastily got up, jumping on leopardspot and biting his neck as if the healer's life depended on it.

Froststar suddenly jumped out of the shadow, running as fast as he could toward the healer, but strongpaw was faster, the apprentice landed squarely on stem of leaf's back, biting hard and making him howl in pain.

Strongpaw jumped of the healer's back just before he whirled around. Gleamhawk, froststar, peltgleam, leopardspot, snowclaw and strongpaw jumped on stem of leaf, biting him, scratching him until his blood flowed and he landed unconscious on the soft ground.

"Retreat! Retreat!"
