Nobody's POV

Amu woke with a start. Sitting up, she pulled her hair out of her eyes and put a hand over her rapidly beating heart. Taking deep breaths, Amu leaned back against the cool wooden headboard of her bed. Closing her eyes, she told herself to breathe.

She could hear it.

The screams of terror. The cries of agony and pain. The shouts of warning and directions. The loud booms and crashes as building fell to the ground. The crackling of the fire as it burned everything in its path. The rush of the waves as they crashed and swept over buildings and humans. The gurgles of people people dying as the sea filled their lungs and fire burned their flesh.

She could see it.

The flocks of people running as the elements chased after them. The buildings crumbling and crashing into rubble. The fire burning, it's red and orange flames licking up everything it's could grab onto. The water, it's swirls of blue and white as its angry mouth sallowed everything that came close. Her own hands as they stretched out and created chaos that she enjoyed.

She could feel it.

The warmth of the fire, as it licked up her right arm and stretch over the crowds of people running. The cool chill of the wind, as it flew around and spread the flames and sea, feeding on the chaos it created. The power of the ocean, as it cover her left arm and swarmed over the city and everything it possessed.  The thrill of the chaos she created, watching as innocent people ran with panic and died with tears streaming down their faces. The rapid beating of her heart in her chest, as it expanded with delight. The wild cry that escaped her pale pink lips as she threw her arms out and let the freezing rain beat down on her, like drums.

Any shuddered and wrapped her arms around herself. She took deep breaths and squeezed her eyes shut.

She was ok.

She was at home and not in that awful place, where creating chaos was welcomed, hearing the screams of the ones being tortured was natural, and the stench of death was always in the air.

She didn't have to hurt anyone.

She didn't want to hurt anyone.

No one was crying.

No one was hurt.

There was no fire.

There was no crashing waves.

No one was watching.

He wasn't watching.

He wasn't there.

She was safe.

She was ok.

She was ok.

She was ok.

She felt tears prick her eyes and she furiously wiped them away as she heard the front door open.

Ikuto was home.

"I'm home," he called shutting the door.

Instead of replying like she normally would, she simply sighed, put her hands in her lap, and looked out of the window.

"Amu, are you up?"

Deciding that she didn't want to have the conversation she knew was coming if Ikuto Where to find her like this, she quickly lay down, close your eyes, and pretended to be asleep. Flinching as the door opened, Amy tried to slow her breathing.

Silence, then Ikuto sighed.

" I know you're awake." He said sitting on the bed next to Amu.

Amu stayed quiet, hoping that if she pretended to be asleep, he might think she was asleep.

"You don't sound like that when you sleep and plus your body seems unnaturally tense for someone who is asleep."

Amu sighed and rolled over so she was facing Ikuto.

"So you watch me sleep now?" Amu asked raising an eyebrow.

Ikuto shrugged.

"Sometimes. If I can't sleep or if I need to calm down from a nightmare."

Amu sat up and leaned against the headboard of their bed. Patting down the spot next to her, Amu motioned him over.

Setting his bag down and slipping his shoes off, Ikuto moved over next to Amu.

"How often do you have nightmares?" Amu asked, her eyebrows knitted together with worry.

Ikuto shrugged.

"Not a lot, maybe once or twice a week."

"Once or twice a week?! That's pretty damn often, why haven't you woken me up or told me?"

Ikuto shrugged.

"I could ask you the same thing."

Amu frowned.

"We're talking about you, not me. Now how long have you been having them?"

Ikuto shrugged but kept his mouth shut.

"Ikuto, how long have you been having them?" Amu asked again.

Ikuto simply shrugged again.

"How long have you been having them?" He shot back.

"Ikuto I'm actually worried about you so stop changing the subject to me."

"Well I'm actually worried about you, so let's talk about that."

" no, let's talk about your nightmares. Again, how long have you been having them and how often? Wait, actually just tell me about them. What's happening during them? Is it the same dream over and over again or-"

Ikuto cut her off.

"I know it still torments you."

Amu froze.

"Excuse me?"

Ikuto sighed.

"We are not going to have this conversation now."

"Yes we are."

"No we're not. Plus I'm fine." Amu said forcing a smile.

Ikuto frowned.

"You obviously aren't. You had another nightmare about your past, didn't you?"

Amu looked away.

"No, of course not. I had a wonderful dream about us."

Ikuto raised an eyebrow.

"You're a terrible liar. It's obvious that you did. You're sweating, which hardly happens in your case. You were very tense when I came in, more than normal if you were pretending to be asleep, your eyes are red, you've got tears stains on your face, and you've been acting out of it, ever since I've been home. Still wanna deny it?"

Amu sighed.

"Fine. But we're still not having this conversation."

"Yeah we are."

"No we're not. I don't want to."

"Too bad. We're having it."

"No we aren't." Amu said her voice slowly raising.

"Well why not?"

"Because I don't want to."

"That's not a good enough reason."

"What are you talking about, that's a perfect reason."

"No it's not, so give me a good reason."

"Because I don't want to."

"Not good enough."

"Yes it is Ikuto, just leave it alone."

Amu got off the beds and walked over to the window, her back facing Ikuto.

"No I won't leave it at that, why won't you talk about it?"

"Don't worry about it."

"No. I'm going to worry about it. So why won't you talk about it?" Ikuto asked his voice raising.

"Because I'm scared!" Amu suddenly yelled whipping around to face Ikuto.

Her face was red and her hair clung to her sweaty four head. Her hands were in tight face at her waist. Her chest rose and fell rapidly and even though thick tears fall down her face, her eyes are blazed brighter than the sun.

" are you happy? Is this what you wanted? Well now you finally know I don't want to talk about it. Yes, I am scared, in fact I am terrified and I wanted to be sick when I was ready, with you by my side, but I guess now that's not possible. So thank you, I hope you're happy."

Not waiting for a response, Amu turned on her heels and fled, leaving a shocked Ikuto in her wake.

Why did she do that? Why did you say that? XO must be confused or furious or both. Well he did push her, but he didn't deserve to be yelled that he was just trying to help because he was worried.

                                                     ~🌸~

Amu groaned and stuffed her tear stained face between her legs.

She felt bad, really bad. She had yelled at him when he was only trying to help her. She would apologize the next time the next time she saw him.  But for now, she would just stay here until-

"There you are." A husky voice said, interrupting her thoughts.

Amu looked up.

Ikuto. He had found her.

The two were silent as they looked away from each other.

"Ikuto-"

"Amu-"

They looked at each other.

"You first," Ikuto said sitting down next to Amu.

Amu nodded and looked at the ground.

"Um...I'm really sorry that I yelled. It's just I wasn't ready to take about it and you kept pushing and all the feelings I had bottled up....came out. It wasn't right of me to push them all at you. I'm sorry."

"Amu."

Amu hummed in response but kept her eyes on the ground.

"Amu, look at me."

She did as she was told.

"It's not your fault. I shouldn't have pushed you. You obviously didn't want to talk about it but I made you. I deserved everything I got. I'm the one at fault not you. I'm sorry."

Amu cupped Ikuto's face with her hands and looked into his deep blue eyes.

"You were just worried about me, I would have done the same thing. Thank you for worrying about me, but you can't push like that, alright?"

Ikuto gently smiled.

"Alright. I'm sorry."

"It's alright."

"Lets talk about this when you're ready, alright?"

Amu hummed in response.

Ikuto rubbed his nose on Amu's, then slowly kissed her. Melting into the kiss, Amu wrapped her arms around Ikutos neck as he pulled her into his lap. Breaking the kiss, Amu pulled back, wrapped her arms around his waist and put her head on his shoulder.

"I love you so much. Thank you for being in my life."

"Your my world Strawberry. So thank you for being in my life. I love you too."
