Dim thoughts filled my feeble mind and heart, as I walked through wilderness with seemingly no end. I ate berries to survive, sometimes growing ill. I drank water from ponds that were lucky abundant, but animal search by night.

I slept in tree's and caves to hide from such creatures. The time I spent here felt infinite. I was alone no more, but at what cost?

Shrieks of the dark filled me at night. Agonizing pain from cuts... bites... Life was a charity in these times. I wondered how my brother did in the night. Hopefully, his situation is better.

With time I thought of the texts I read within that library so long ago. The mythical tales and the collections of history. But even that was taken away swiftly. I prayed towards the sun, hoping for Gods answer and that it would come soon.

With time it did, in the answer of a man in shining armor. A man... with the cloth of another nation. A man in blue, with a white cross upon the cloth. He was old, but burly. I heard the choir and the churches bell as he found me. His face was blocked by the light of sol behind him. I was laying on the ground from an attack. He saved my life, and tried to speak but I could not answer. The choir got louder, the bell rung stronger, and the light soon overtook his face. Everything was white.

I awoke, being in the middle of a field away from the Forest I was so lost in. White flowers blew around me, and the man in shining armor was sitting upon a rock, looking at one of the flowers in his metal hand. The man had a grey beard, and worn blue eyes. His helm glistened in the light.

He noticed me awake. He asked of my reasoning for being alone. I told him I was lost. Lost indefinitely in a forest of deep and dark sadness. He understood, and took my hand, guiding me to a nearby mountain.

He handed me an apple, and a short sword. I could barely lift it, and yet, he told me to scale the mountain. Do it, and I will find my light. I had nothing, and was forced to accept.
