Dear readers of 'Time of the Enterprises':

I originally intended it to be just what it said. The time of the Enterprises. The scene in the beginning where the Enterprises were working together was my great intention to make it bad ass and epic. A story that would end shortly. However, in the process of writing this story I remembered what Trelane said.

"The games will begin." Trelane said.

"You mean game." Q said.

And how I dropped in John-Luc into the story that made me change my mind. I had to explore his character's relationship with Quarty aka our well known Q. It took me reading 'I,Q' to get down Q's perspective on Picard, his son Junior characteristics, and Q himself. Also reading some Q fanfics on Fan Fiction net. I had fun exploring the complicated storyline. Even the scene where they first kiss in 'the white planet' was more of a challenge than not.

It was like pressed against the wall on a cliff looking down upon a great height and being scared!

Yes!

Scared of to continue on.

I told myself, 'Come on. You gotta get it down right and YOU MUST RIGHT IT. NO IFFS,BUTS, OR ANYTHING ABOUT IT!'

I also made sure not to repeatedly explain their story over and over again.

If you see the reluctance in showing them explain over and over again then high five you have seen the author's irritation!

While writing this story I watched a few episodes to SG-1 and apparently eight seasons of The X-Files. I stopped at the last season because I didn't want to embark on the season where the show lost its touch (Or so I read from X-Philies who commented on a article regarding the return of X-Files) and I wanted to keep the image of the X-Files just the way it was in my head. I also watched a bit of Castle. Who am I kidding? Watching TNT can give you a dose of Castle that influences your writing if you like shows like Castle,Monk,House,Bones, and Sleepy Hollow.

Side note: we have Hulu now, no more Dish or Direct TV.

Just cable.

Trelane's character later in the story like . . . 80+ chapters later underwent a change if you could tell. Specifically the chapter where he see's Q's degrading character. I read 'Q-Squared' where I learned a little more about his character in one chapter and hence made a separate fanfiction to it called 'When the three lanes end'. If you'll notice Trelane picks up a alias that he refers to in the very same chapter being 'Treylane' which is also from Q-squared.

I had lots of fun writing the storylines in this story.

I already wrote the ending prior to chapter 50 or so.

I made the ending shortly after I started the story.

And since then it has been edited a lot up until it became the version you have read.

The final version of the end to this story.

I was only making filler chapters leading to the ending of this storyline such as what position the characters are in. I honestly didn't realize how much I shipped Q/Picard until 'the white planet' chapter came around. I realized then that reading 'Dying Galaxies' from Fan Fiction Net had affected me more than I had believed. The story of John-Luc Picard and Photonic Riker Quarty will go on for eternity if you can imagine what they'll get themselves into. John-Luc thinks eternity has a time limit. Well, could there be a time limit to eternity?

Their eternity together begins in the short story 'Our eternity starts today, John-Luc'.

If you enjoyed this flawed and long action adventure humorous then perhaps you might like a story being Star Trek TNG/The X-Files crossover called 'The truth is right there'. That will feature a AU version of John-Luc Picard and AU version of Q who isn't Q but in a way he is Q. Sorry if that didn't make sense.

Oh, that just came from watching eight seasons of the show and then in season 8 almost mistaking the words 'the truth is out there' as 'the truth is right there'.

Thank you for enjoying this story.

Thank you for embarking on this wild and long ride with me.

My first ever 120+ chapter long Star Trek Fanfic.

Live long and prosper.
