Author's note: This is a flashback. Sorry the chapter is so short! Things have  been busy, and I am trying to appease your needs. Hope you like it! Have a good one! Thanks for all the comments, I LOVE hearing from you guys. It warms my soul.

It was a dark night, the only source of light was from  the stars above, and the small glow of the Athena Parthenon. Trees surrounded us. It was my turn to take the watch. Coach Hedge was snoring loudly. We had instructed him to sleep away from us, so we didn't wake from the booming sound of his sleeping breath.

Nico lay next to me, his breathing calm. His black eyes were shut, and his hair kept falling in his face. Instinctively, I reached out and brushed it aside. He shifted in his sleep, and I pulled back my hand, afraid to wake him.

He needed his sleep. Shadow Traveling something as big as the Athena Parthenon to Camp Half Blood, with two carry-on people was a big deal. He might act like it's nothing, but I could see It was putting a lot of stress on him.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw something move. I yanked my head in that direction. It looked like nothing, but I couldn't be sure. I slowly got up and moved towards the bushes, next to me.

When I was satisfied that nothing had happened, I walked over, and took up my position of look out next to Nico again.

I yawned for the third time tonight. The thought of waking up Coach Hedge crossed my mind.

Something moved. I was sure of it. I didn't get up this time though. I just watched, keeping a keen eye on every bush, tree and blade of grass.

A shadow moved, dancing around in the clearing. No person or animal was connected to this shadow. I narrowed my eyes.

Invisible men? I asked myself.

No these didn't represent men. These looked like blotches of moving paint. They surged around and the ground started to move.

An Earthquake?

This was getting weird. I got up, holding a tree to stabilize myself. I looked down at Nico, and gasped, jumping back.

The ground around him was dead. Grass shriveled up from its bright green self. He was shaking violently. The trees were now thrashing back and forth in sync with Nico.

I keeled down next to him and shook him, trying to wake him from this mess. This was starting to scare me.

He wouldn't wake. I fell next to him, tears streaming down my face. I wasn't supposed to be like this, but right now, with Nico unconsious, I couldn't help it.

I looked up to the Coach. He was still asleep. How could he be sleeping through this? I could hear animals. Running around in the forest around us. It was only me. All alone. I hugged Nico and sobbed into his shoulder.

After about ten minuets of just sitting there, crying. Everything started to calm down. Nico was laying still now, and his breathing had started to mellow.

I moved myself off Nico's shoulder, which, embarrassingly, was wet with my tears. I wiped my eyes. Staring at Nico, I could see signs of him returning to consciousness. A sigh of relief slipped out of me.

Nico opened his eyes, tired and confused. For just an instant, they flashed completely white, but they were back to normal so quickly, I assumed I had just imagined it.

"Reyna... " He moaned.

I held him up as he was starting to fall. His eyes started to close, so I layed his head in my lap. He curled up into a fetal position, and drifted off to sleep.

The forest calmed down, and all was quiet now. Nico lay sleeping on my lap, silently and happily. I wondered what he was dreaming about. He had most obviously caused that, and I was wondering why.

I thought back to the frightening experience I had just had. It seemed almost fake. I let out a long, tired breath, and relaxed.

Coach Hedge was sleeping next to a tree, happily oblivious. I doubted that either of them would remember what had just happened. I decided not to tell them. It was already too stressful, and I didn't need to go around making it worse.

I sat there until sunrise. My thoughts roaming.

What could Nico Di Angelo, dream about, that would cause such a mess?
