They continue to stay in touch despite the distance.

They comfort me when I am sad or confused,

They are the true friends, the constants.

So I met my school friends after 7 long months, but we still managed to keep in touch throughout that time through whatsapp and stuff, and I just ended up writing this cheesy poem for them. Do you still keep in touch with those long-time friends, and catch up with them regularly?
