The country stands tall,

But deep down it's roots are stained with the blood of my ancestors.

Innocent people lost their lives for the sake of their belief,

A great united country and at last everyone is free.

Through non-violence the war was won,

And through all these years the country is one.

Despite the influences of the west,

Our own culture is still the best.

Today is the 71st Independence day in my country and all those patriotic vibes are at an all-time high now! Whichever part of the world you may be from, your own country's culture and heritage is unique and must be celebrated and cherished.
