13. People are either born lucky or unlucky.

I’m not totally convinced by this statement.

-In my opinion, some people are born with congenital defect, such as blind and deaf people… To some extent, they are less lucky than other people. However, they are not totally unlucky because “to exist and to live” is the best luck for everyone in the Earth. Defective people may have other talents that nobody else has and they have a strong will to make their life become “lucky”.

- Besides, there are a lot of people who are born in rich families and are provided with very good living conditions. They seem to be very lucky. However, they do not respect their favorable conditions and lead a useless life. They are ruining their life and turn it into “unlucky” one.

- Therefore, I don’t think people are either born lucky or unlucky. Maybe some people have more disadvantages when they are born but these disadvantages are just challenges for them to be stronger and overcome them. Luck doesn’t depend on destiny, it depends on the way we feel and live.

14.  Nowadays, we spend too much time watching television.

- I disagree with this statement because nowadays, people are always busy doing their work at home as well as at work place. Especially women, they both have to manage their work and do a lot of housework at home. Therefore, they have no time for doing other things, even watching television.

- But in fact, TV is a form of entertainment and a useful source of information, so watching TV isgood for us to reduce stress. We can also discover the world by watching TV. By so doing, we can save a lot of money.

- On balance, I think we are spending too much time and energy onour work. Thus, in the evening or in our free time, we should spend time enjoying ourselves by watching TV.
