am I ever again going to post something in this spam book that isn't me raving about how much I love a specific musical? probably not.

OKAY today I saw A Bronx Tale on tour and I have to say that it's been a while since I've left the theater feeling so uplifted due to both the show itself and the stagedoor experience.

I would have absolutely recommended this show to someone before I saw it live, but it completely blew my expectations away, and it's so much better than anything you can get from the cast recording. it's an amazing show (written by our fav Alan Menken), the cast is really one of the best casts I've seen in a while, they're all brilliantly talented and work together wonderfully, and the story itself is so so good.

okay now I have to take a minute to single out Joey Barreiro. for those of you who don't know, Joey played Jack during the second leg of the Newsies national tour. I had the privilege of seeing him play Jack two years ago, and he was so great. but he is SO MUCH BETTER in this show. his vocals are on a completely different level, and his acting phenomenal, he is a star, and everyone needs to start giving him more love because is going to make it big.

now I need to talk about the stage door. you guys, every single one of these cast members are SO. NICE. it was after the matinee of a two show day, and they didn't have to come out at all, but most of them did, and each and every one of them was out there talking to us not to be nice, but because they wanted to talk to us, and that was so refreshing to see. they all took their time and talked to us all.

Joe Barbara, who plays Sonny, asked me what my name was and how I was doing. Ashley McManus, a member of the ensemble told me that I was pretty (which was SO sweet?), Richard Blake who played Lorenzo playfully warned my mother not to fall down the stairs, and he also put up with my starstruck self who loved him Legally Blonde the Musical.

And once again, Joey Barreiro wins the whole experience. I did meet Joey after Newsies, but the Newsies stagedoor was completely insane and none of the cast members had a chance to talk to anyone. Joey came up to me today and was so sweet, and got so excited when I told him that I was a Newsies fan, and then said what will now and forever be my favorite stage door quote ever, "Sorry Josh (Burrage) isn't here, he's a little idiot". All in all, Joey is a wonderful wonderful man.

OKAY this was long and unnecessary but I had to rave about how amazing this was, and I definitely recommend that you all go see this show if it comes near you
