Summary: Sixteen-year-old Mahlia Creshei has never left Miss Aifea's orphanage. All her life, she's listened to legends about the Woman Of The Vale, the Trembling King, and, perhaps most importantly, legends about the Wild Boy and his kind.

With no knowledge of where she came from, who her parents are, or why, every night Miss Aifea tells the orphans to never enter the Vale, Mahlia's curiosity might just take over.
