The big bear

Always in the sky, shining there.

However beautiful on the surface it may be,

Today, the story behind it we will see.

The version of the story I will tell you today,

Is how the Greeks explained it their way.

Callisto was a beautiful maiden,

And had Zeus' heart raided.

Together they had a little affair.

When Hera found out, she deemed it unfair,

And had the maiden turned into a bear.

One day, when Arcas went hunting,

Came across his mother, the big, great bear.

Arcas, his mind was obstructed,

And he, to his mother, was unaware.

To save them both,

Despite the fact that Hera loathed,

Zeus took their stubby tails,

And threw them up into the sky and exhales.

Despite them both being saved from extinction,

Their tails were stretched 'til it seemed like fiction.

Alas, this is where our story will end,

With Ursa Major and Minor still being suspend.
