Japan

The hurricane had destroyed a good part of the island. People were missing and others were terrified. It had rained for a couple days and those without homes got soaked. Bulkhead and the rest of his unit had managed to set up a few facilities along the island. He felt bad that they hadn't been able to communicate with anyone off the island. He knew his father had to be worried.

They were able to get a few supplies and donations from the main land. Bulkhead was currently helping the others pass things out to the people. They hoped it was enough until they got more help. Some were worried about another storm.

"I still don't know why we have to be here." Wheeljack muttered as he leaned against the wall. Bulkhead shot him a look then handed someone a bag of rice.

The woman thanked him repeatedly as she bowed respectively. Bulkhead smiled and responded in her language as he bowed his head in equal respect. The woman left and he handed out more bags.

"I don't see why you bother trying to learn the language." Wheeljack mumbled. "It's not like we're going to be here long." He rolled his eyes.

"There's more respect and trust when you understand the individual." Bulkhead said as he smiled at the people.

"You sound like your dad." Wheeljack scoffed slightly annoyed with his friend. Bulkhead furrowed his brow and turned to him. Another man took his place as he walked to his friend.

"You say that like it's a bad thing." He said as he smirked. Wheeljack gave him a look as he thought and was about to reply when they heard a small gasp.

"Wow! You're huge!" They looked down slightly surprised to see a six year old girl staring up at them as she grinned.

She had an over sized T-shirt on that was filthy, pants that were a little big on her, and no shoes. The girl had two pig tails and her brown eyes sparkled with excitement. She was soaking wet and quite dirty.

"Do you have a monster truck?" She asked as she smiled. "Do you like music? How much do you weigh? Do you beat thing up?

"Uh...." Bulkhead said as he stared down at her.

"Where are your parents kid?" Wheeljack asked as he looked at her.

"I don't know." She said as she shrugged. They looked at each other as she grinned back up at them, then shivered a little from being wet. Bulkhead felt bad and crouched down in front of her.

"What's your name?" He asked gently.

"I'm Miko." She smiled as she hugged herself to stop the shivering.

Bulkhead noticed how small she was and thought of his brother Bumblebee. He smiled a little as she grinned and admired her ability to be cheerful. He took off his jacket and carefully wrapped it around the small girl. It quickly engulfed her and she put her arms through the sleeves before hugging herself again.

"I'm Bulkhead." He smirked a little as he watched her.

She smiled again and snuggled in the jacket. Wheeljack chuckled and looked through the supplies for something. Bulkhead carefully and gently picked up the small girl. He walked over to his friend as the girl held on to him. Wheeljack gently grabbed one of her little feet and felt how cold they were. He found a pair of socks and shoes that were donated and put them on her feet.

"I don't like shoes." She frowned. Bulkhead chuckled softly.

"Well kid." Wheeljack said as he tied the laces. "If you don't wear something on your feet, you'll get too cold." He said as he finished. Bulkhead set her on the back of the truck and rubbed her head.

"Can I go home with you?" Miko asked them as she grinned. The two men looked at each other then back at her.

"Let's find your parents." Wheeljack said as he looked around. "We can take you to a facility and they'll take care of you until your parents come." He muttered. She frowned and nodded as she looked at her new shoes. Her stomach growled and she hugged it.

"Shhhh!" She said as she glared at it.

The two men chuckled softly. Wheeljack reached in his pocket and handed her a chocolate bar. He winked at her and put a finger to his lips. Miko grinned and nodded as she quickly opened it and ate it. Bulkhead chuckled and picked up the small girl. She surprised him by hugging him tightly around the neck. He blushed a little from embarrassment. Pretty soon she fell asleep as she continued to hold on to him.

"Careful Bulk." His friend chuckled. "You may have made a new friend that won't want to leave you." He teased. Bulkhead shrugged as he held on to the small girl. They walked to the facility and told the woman in charge about their new friend.

"Miko." Bulkhead whispered gently as he rubbed her back to wake her.

"Hmm...." she hummed quietly. The small girl stretched tiredly and laid back on his shoulder. Wheeljack chuckled and rolled his eyes. Bulkhead crouched down and carefully set her on her feet.

"Wake up Miko." He said gently. She opened her eyes and slowly let go. He grabbed her little shoulders to steady her and she smiled up at him as she woke up.

"These people are going to take care of you, and give you something to eat." He said softly. She looked up at the woman then back at him. She nodded in understanding and started to take his jacket off. He shook his head.

"Keep it." He said as he put it back on her. Wheeljack crouched down and handed her two little stuffed animals. One was green and one was blue.

"Maybe this will help ya feel better." He muttered as he smirked a little. She grinned and took them as she hugged them tightly.

"See ya around kid." Wheeljack smirked as he ruffled her hair and stood up. Bulkhead smiled at her and followed his friend out the building.

"Bulkhead!" They turned as the little girl ran after them. She tripped on the over sized jacket and he quickly caught her before she fell. He carefully helped her stand up straight again as he crouched down to her level.

"Will I ever see you again?" She asked as she looked up at him with her big brown eyes. He hesitated unsure how to answer.

"I don't know." He said quietly. Her lower lip quivered and she hugged him tightly around the neck. He hesitantly returned the embrace. Wheeljack watched quietly as the woman walked over. The small girl sniffed a little as she hugged him.

"Don't cry Miko." He whispered softly, and she let go after a moment. He pulled a clean handkerchief out of the jacket pocket and wiped her tears away. She sniffed again and looked at the ground.

"Hey." He said as he lifted her chin up. "Can you be strong and brave?" He asked. She looked up at Wheeljack who winked at her. The little girl looked back at him and nodded.

"That's my girl." He said as he smiled and ruffled her hair. He stood up and the woman held her hand out to Miko. The girl took it and the two men watched her go.

"Why do you care?" Wheeljack asked as he looked at his friend. Bulkhead hesitated as he watched. Miko looked over her shoulder at him and waved as she grinned.

"I honestly don't know." He said as he smiled slightly.
