I heard something snap aggressively behind me as I bolted through the forest.

"GET OVER HERE, ABOMINATION!" one of the humans called.

"No thanks, I like being outside!" I replied, slightly out of breath from running. Naturally, I'm faster than most humans, but these guys must have some kind of speed boost or something.

I heard some kind of click.

What's tha-

My thought was cut out by a loud bang, and a burning sensation shot up my leg. I yelped in pain as my leg gave out beneath me and I fell to the ground.

"Got her!" Someone shouted from behind me.

"Nice aim. Didn't think we'd get her this time, but look here! We got her."

"Thanks! That is a nice gun, after all."

The rest was a blur as I faded from consciousness.

"Hey! Wake up!"

That's weird, I live alone- wait.

I blinked my eyes open and sat upright, rubbing my eyes. I felt a weird weight on my ear, and I felt some kind of tag there. I looked for the voice and saw that someone was sitting next to me. An orange demon-looking hybrid with two tails, and a flower stuck in his puffy hair.

"Hello! Who are you?" The hybrid asked.

"I'm Quicklight," I said, "Who are you?"

His gaze darkened slightly. "I'm Dusk.

"Son of Vizor and Dawn."
